Inside of her beach-side home, Twinkleshine moved here and there, tidying up the messes her daughter continued to make, wanting everything to be perfectly in order when her friend arrived. It was going to be the first, hopefully of many, play dates between her and Lust's daughters. She hoped that the two of them would form a sort of sisterly kinship, as they seemed to be the same type of creature and had originated from the same circumstances at the ball.
In any case, since the families had become so interdependent recently, this could help them to really get to know each other even better. They were pretty close anyways, the adults; most anyone would be after spending so many moons creating the structure she was standing. The children had yet to met, and Sparrow in particular had only met a few pae, since there weren't too many living nearby and she was not allowed within the tree with her mother.
Hopefully they could become close friends. Having snuck out of the house, not the first nor the last time it had and would happen, Sparrow lay on her back, scratching her claws against the hard wood of a nearby tree. She had sharpened her claws like this once in the house, using a pillar, but had been immediately scolded and made to be alone as punishment. Punishment was horrible, but so were dulled talons. How was she to grip anything with them coarse as the sand? It was utter blasphemy!
But, if her mother said no, she had to listen. It was law.
Or close to it anyways.
The little bird was unaware that anyone would be coming today. Nobody had come the day before, nor the day before that or before that. Who, without prior knowledge, could suspect a daily occurrence to change? Not her.

Aella had, once again, clamped down on her mothers pony tail, something she had done since she hatched, it was pretty and long and fun to play with, she couldn't help but just want to cling to it so she was sitting on top of her mothers head as she walked past the last tree before hitting the beach, standing there she looked out at the ocean and just sighed, she really should come here more often but today she promised to met Twinkle and let their two kids meet, if anyone could help her understand the strangeness of raising some strange half bird half pae creature it may be another owner.
Aella watched as her mother walked toward some structure, unsure what exactly that was she carried on just clinging to her mothers ponytail as if she was some strange hair tie and enjoyed the ride, wonder who they were going to see, her mother wasn't exactly clear on the details.
Lust reached Twinkle's place moments later and knocked on the door, hoping that the other was home, true, she did say she would meet with her but she just hoped it wasn't somewhere else, she had forgotten exactly where they were supposed to meet.

Hearing the knock at the door, and immediate, "Coming! Just a minute!" could be softly heard through the wooden front door, along with some miscellaneous shuffling as Twinkleshine moved to put away her cleaning supplies and, pausing for a moment in front of a mirror to fix her hair, turning to open the door. They hadn't a lock for the thing; why would something like that be needed? The home was always open to visitors, and it would take something tragic happening before it was further guarded. With any luck, the girl's inherit trust would not cause her family problems.
Opening the door wide and waving, she quickly moved closer to give Lust one heck of a hug, holding it for a few minutes before stepping back, a large grin on her face. "You made it! I'm so glad," she paused, looking up and noticing Aella, "You must be Aella. Hello there!" Motioning for her friend to follow her in, Twinkleshine moved to the center of their main room, pausing and motioning to a couch. "Feel free to sit if you want; I'm gonna go get Sparrow. I think she's been in her room, avoiding the broom. Doesn't really like it."
When Twinkleshine moved to the back, her calls of "Sparrow! Sparrow...! Sparrow...? Sparrow!" could be heard fairly clearly in the main room. Hardly a minute had passed before she returned, alone and shrugging her shoulders. "It looks like she decided to get out through the window again. Man... Sometimes I think we're really gonna have to bolt that thing in!" Crossing her arms, she shrugged again. "Atlantis said he had something to do today, so I dunno when he'll be back."
Having quickly hidden behind the tree she was sharpening her claws on, Sparrow decided that, rather than be her usual, outgoing self, she was going to play a game. A stalking game. These people passing by were her pray, and she was the mighty bird queen, greatest huntress in the land. Of course, this ignored the fact that her hunting skills had yet to really be developed, but she still could catch the occasional mouse or snake on her own, if she tried, anyways.
After having watched them move into the house, she crept to the side, trying to keep from being visible through any of the windows. It took all her strength to not respond to her mother's calls, knowing how much trouble she would be in if she found out about her ignoring her. The risk was worth it for the game though.
Making her way to the front of the house, she peaked her head just visible in the window showing the main room, attempting to assess who these people were and how she could get them now that they were in a safe-spot.

"Hi!" Lust said cheerfully as she walked into the house and smiled at her friend "thank you for inviting us over, this little one" she was gesturing towards Aella "was bored which meant annoying the heck out of me" she said as she walked towards the nearest chair and sat down.
Aella watched as this other woman opened the door, wondering who she was she stopped clinging to her mothers ponytail a little bit and just watched, wondering who this woman was and why her mother was so friendly towards her but when she addressed her she shrunk back a little, not saying anything or doing anything, she wasn't sure who this woman was but she would just watch, see if this woman meant her mother harm or not, if she did...well, she would do SOMETHING to protect her, not sure what, but she would do something.
"Thats fine" she said as she giggled, letting the other go fetch her daughter "you know, you could save the hassle of bolting the window and just put something scary up in front of it, sure it would be a little cruel to scare her but at least that may teach her not to climb out of the windows anymore" she said, thinking that it would, obviously, teach her a lesson, but also saves the hassle of trying to get a bolt for the window and installing it.

Success... She just sat, staring, watching, observing the two in front. One of them appeared to be her size with wings and claws like her. Perhaps it was her twin or something, except they didn't have similar coloring. Weird. More observations were needed.
"Aha! There she is!" Twinkleshine exclaimed as she noticed the bird through the window. She walked over, her arms crossed as she scolded her. "What have I told you about going out? And without telling me? If it were any other day, you'd be in time-out this very instant!" Instead, however, she merely picked up the child and brought her inside. "Here she is, Sparrow..." Her voice trailed off as she looked between the two kids. "...wow, they really are similar! You said you got her at Venus's ball too?"

Aella looked at the other that was like her and sat up a little and blinked, tilting her head to the side a little, she was like her, when her mother said that she had a friend to meet she thought it was to be some other 'normal' Pae not one of her own kind "friend?" She asked simply, saying nothing else, curious about how she was meant to interact with the other, it was the first time she had ever seen another like herself so she wasn't sure if the other was going to hurt her when they were eventually set down together or just end up not liking each other but for herself, she did hope they could be friends, being friends with another of her kind would be awesome but still, she was a bit weary. Whilst she and...Sparrow, was it? Came across as the same that didn't mean she was kind, she had met Pae who hated her when she and her mother just went for walks together, she had yucky looks shot at her and hurtful words said to her and her mother and she just didn't want that again, she tried to keep up a brave face for her mother, showing her that the words didn't hurt her so she didn't worry her mother but they did, they really did hurt and she had cried when she was alone as she knew they also upset her mother, she didn't really know why they hated her just that she didn't want to have that happen again so she hoped, though they were the same, this other one wouldn't be mean.
Lust took the cutie off her head and cuddled her a little as she smiled at the others and nodded "this is Aella" she said as she looked down at her "and Sparrow is to be your new friend" she said as she kissed her head before looking back at Twinkle "they do seem to be similar don't they?" She said as she nodded "yes, I did, I can't really explain it more then that, this egg just came flying at me and I ended up being able to take it home, needless to say, I am thankful I was, I may not know what she is but she has been the best thing to ever happen to me" she said as she paced Aella on the floor. "There you go sweetheart, enjoy your play date with Sparrow" she said as she looked at Sparrow "and you, I must say, are beautiful" she said as smiled at her.
Aella just looked up at the others, wondering a little about what was now going to happen but just kept her defenses up a little, still not sure about this other like her, she didn't want to get too close but even she couldn't completely stay away from her, she was curious, she wanted t get to know the other like her even if she was to be hurt.

Twinkleshine smiled to Aella as she set Sparrow down. "Yes, you two will be friends in no time I'm sure!" Pushing the bird forward, she stood back up and returned her attention to Lust. "Hmm... That's exactly what happened to me. Weird."
Drats! Foiled in her game by this woman so mad she must not have noticed what she was doing. If these pae ended up being some sort of murderers, working together, and they tried to kill them all she couldn't say that she hadn't tried investigating them beforehand. That alone was enough to quell her conscience, and the compliment didn't hurt.
Of course she was beautiful!
But, this other one that was like her... She moved a bit forward, eyeing her. Why did she look so suspicious of her? If the other bird was suspicious, well, Sparrow should be suspicious too, right?

"It is weird but then I just sort of go with it, that is my family, weird is what their good at, so says Aunt Ag, I think that ball alone showed the whole Island what the Gods are like, weird is something of a staple when their concerned...or at least my Grandmother, take your pick" she said giggling a little, she loved them but yes, they had their flaws and sometimes, weird was one of them.Aella looked the other over and moved a step forward and smiled a little uncertain at the other "umm...hi?" She said softly as she shied away a little but still stood her ground for the most part, not really sure how to go about saying or doing anything else towards the other, at least not yet but at least saying a friendly sort of hello was a start right?

Twinkleshine shrugged. "I haven't really known of any gods before coming here, so I wouldn't know if they acted any different from the rest of us. I guess you could say our princesses Celestia and Luna are the closest thing we have to them. Plus, I wouldn't say being weird is necessarily a bad thing; I'm sure some pae think I'm weird after all."
There it was, a smile. A smile means a friend, yes? Following this train of logic, Sparrow jumped closer before leaning forward, probably scaring the other bird half to death as she grinned widely. "Sparrow" she chirped, her little wings fluttering behind her and a finger pointing to herself. Hopefully, she would understand and reply with her name.

"Princess Celestia and Luna?" Lust asked curiously, not having come across princesses before "I guess there is still stuff I need to learn of your kind, I am not used to such formalities like their title but I guess, in some sense, I guess you are the same, having not come up against Gods before, I guess we could learn from each other" she said, thinking it might be fun to learn of these Princesses.
So, this Pae that looked like her was named Sparrow, nice name at least, that was something she guessed "Aella" she said pointing to herself, smiling a little more at the other "play?" She asked, not sure what they WERE meant to play but if the other seemed kind enough to at least tell her her name then maybe a game would be fine for them to play, after all, it WAS just a game, if they didn't like each other after a game then they probably shouldn't be friends so a game would be easy enough to sort out if they were meant to be friends or not.

Nodding, Twinkleshine decided to elaborate a bit. "Well... They led us, so I guess you could say that, in Equestria, they had a position more like Chieftain Rais's than a god's..." pausing slightly, she glanced to either side of her before leaning in, as if telling a huge secret. "...Honestly, I still kinda think of them as our leaders over him, but anyone who they respect and loyalty is obviously worth mine too." Done with that train, she stood back up, nodding. "Yeah, I still don't know much about here or the faun culture... Wasn't really in the tree long enough to get to know it well."
"Hi Ae-Aella!" the bird almost seemed to sing as she moved just a bit closer, not even making a motion to indicate how difficult she had found the pronunciation. Play...? Oh! Did she mean fun time! A... "...Game?!" she squealed, jumping up and down impatiently. What did she want to play? No matter what, it had to be fun!

"Oh, I see" she said, wondering now what this...Equestria? Was like, if Princess Luna and Celestia ruled it then they must have been kind and fair leaders or else they wouldn't have been still given the respect they still get here "though, if you have been brought up to follow the Princesses rule then it is only understandable you still respect them and think of them as your leader but yes, if they respect Rais then I guess it is only fair to follow them as well, they wouldn't guide you wrongly, not when they have gotten you here safely at the very least." She said, trying to remember what her father had taught her about the Fauns "well then, how about I teach you about the Fauns? At least, what I can, my father taught me about them when I was a child, in between Demi Goddess training, I admit though, I know more about the Demi Goddess training then the Fauns, I don't hate them, of course, just that when you are a child Demi Goddess training sounded far more interesting."
"Hi, Sp...ar...row? Sparrow!" She said, finally getting the word out, feeling proud of herself for the fact she did, her name was a little harder then her own...though, of course, that was her opinion and took a couple of steps back when she moved closer, not out of dislike but more the fact that sudden movements were still new to her a bit but she nodded. "Yes, play, you have any games you play with your mommy?" She asked, wondering if she had a game in mind, she played some games with her mommy but she wasn't sure what games her mommy played with her so if there was something she wanted to play instead well, she wouldn't mind going along with it. "Or we could come up with a new game?"

"There's training for being a Demi-Goddess...? Wait... What does that even mean?" She tilted her head questioningly, a bit confused.
Oooh! Games! Yay! "Chase?! Mom and I play chase! Wanna play chase?" She suggested, referring to her running away from her mother when it was time for something, such as sleep or a bath. This was clearly unfortunate for the new mother, who simply encouraged such behavior by taking part in it.

"I wouldn't really say it was 'training' exactly just the do's and don't's of what it takes to be a Demi Goddess, I learnt etiquette, the names of the Gods and Goddesses and what they are the patron of, I learnt that one doesn't lash out in anger because it was very unbecoming of a lady and of a Demi-Goddess and is a rather ugly trait to have anyway, the stories of my family, what they have been doing etc, making sure I took note to not get on the bad side of some of them, like my Spartan Aunts, needless to say, I got the joy of facing one of them during the ball, if that is anything to go by when she is brain washed by Eris then I don't think I want to even meet her when she isn't., even half her power she would be a danger to face. Anyway, it is just that sort of thing, thats all, I was told it is best to learn them now if I ever see them or whatever, just best to have the basic info and the like so I was taught hunting and Goddess Do's and Don't's, fun childhood I had, but then I made up for it in other ways" she said as she shook her head "teen years, at least, were fun but came at a cost and a regret on my part...partially anyway" she said with a sigh, remembering that horrible day when she had met her grandmother who revoked her blessing, granted she didn't know it was her grandmother at the time but still, twas scary.
"Chase? OK, how do you play?" She asked smiling more normally now at the other, maybe she wouldn't be so bad after all, if she can make up fun games like Chase then maybe they would be able to make up others, she was always looking for more fun games to play and now it may seem she might have a friend to help her with that.

Now, that was something she hadn't been expecting to hear. To think that the pae on this island has such a tradition to prepare the ones meant for certain powers was a little unnerving at best. She had just gone to a ceremony and now was to learn from a mellon... guy... thing... That would apparently show up eventually. Or, at least she hoped he would! Things would get so exciting when he did! "Sounds like a lot of trouble to me... More than I ever had to do growing up, but I guess we don't have goddesses in our land, so it would be a bit different." A bit different was definitely an understatement at this point.
"Well, I run, and you catch!" She said, giggling before running off in the house towards her room.
