The City of Crows, an ancient citadel filled with towers, streets, markets and wondrous magics. Standing out and piercing the clouds above it is like a dark beacon of hope amongst the misty, marsh land surrounding it. There are deep dungeons, winding, topless towers and libraries beyond imagination. The city is like a communal meeting place for warriors and even simple wanderers, for this is an ancient city filled with secrets, home to Delorius'tatem, the Conclave of Declasia.
On the south side, (left in image just right of the small tower) is the Black Palace, where the ruler of the City of Crows resides. In the middle of the great and vast city is the Tower of Torhanc, only accessible by the ruler, her subjects or the Royal Guard.

From shadows We'll descend upon the world Take back what you stole From shadowsNyru Statem
It had been a couple of days since the two of them, Shadowmancers, had defeated the Maiden of Torment, En'radial. The Greater Demon of Hell that one resided over the depriving and screaming domain of Torment was now locked within the Crimson Jewel, her soul kept hidden. There were still discussions of where the jewel should be kept from now on, the High Guild observing and deciding whether it be within the shadowy clutches of the Circle, or that of the purely protected walls of Skyfall. Just this morning, Claudia and Nyru had met with the Queen - Declasia. They were praised for their efforts, even in such short notice, and had been briefed in a matter that was more understandable than that of the confusing Circle could do. And better yet, they have been given permission to do as they please on one condition - to find information of the Wanderer and the Black Jewel.
Walking away from the main palace and through he cascading streets of the City of Crows, Nyru had his helm replaced for what could be described as a crown. At the front of his forehead it had what seemed a very similar front to his helmet, a beak tip almost, with the areas above his ears having whats seamed pointed ears to the crown itself. It was as a reward of their efforts, an example of pure Delorius'tatem ingenuity. Claudia even got rewarded too. This crown of Nyru's showed that he was one of the best Royal Guards the queen had. With just a thought, a flicker of his own shadow, the crown was unfold and shift into a fully defensive helmet just like his own before. As for his blade, it was upgraded to a Snake Sword, where the blade would divide into separate smaller blades to form a sharp whip, with his control over darkness he can cause it to follow his command.
The city was kind of medieval, but conclave engineering and magic caused it to have its own mysterious vibe to it. Though dark and almost secret, the city would indulge in splashes of purple, may it be like or lightning between archs, of perhaps shadows themselves were moving. But all in all, it was a simple city, showing its most mysterious devices in the darkest corners where one would least expect it. All the buildings outside the center where the palace stood were mainly cottage-like, the paths were stone paved and fountains of dark water met between most main pathways to create small crossing areas. Walking down these roads were Nyru and Claudia, breathing in the familiar air and taking i the familiar surroundings.
"Well, i certainly wasn't expecting such a warm welcome"

Claudia, unlike Nyru, wasn't impressed with the queen's standards, but went along with her judgment. She couldn't jeopardize Nyru and her ranking status by underestimating Declasia. The blonde seemed different in a way because she could careless about the praises she deserved. Was she actually feeling humble rather than selfish? Oh well, it didn't matter how she acted or what she thought just as long as the Shadowmancer stayed on her task. The Black Jewel and the Wanderer are now her and her partners top priority. Truth be told, she'd rather go back home to the foggy mucky filth.
At least something good back out of her efforts. Her was rewards with a silky blue dress and pure gold armor. She could stop gawking at reflection in each shop window they passed. Conceded, yes, but she was content for the most part. Her bow and arrows had an ungraded as well. The bow was made of a light steel instead of bendable wood as well at the arrows. It suited her refined taste the same way the City of Crows did. She was fascinated with the architecture and structure of it all. Claudia made Nyru stop every couple of seconds to observe a new item.
The female felt as peace and with each step became more in tune with her surroundings. The silence was interrupted by her partner. "Neither was I, but we do deserve the best don't we?"She didn't have to convince Nyru to agree with her because she assumed he already was. She decided to change the subject. "So, the Black Jewel and the Wanderer...what do you make of them?" (Sorry I took so long. My brain just doesn't want to work)

Looking over Claudia's new armour, dress and weapons, he quickly ran some thoughts through his mind. The Black Jewel and the Wanderer hey... it was almost like an old folk tale. "Well..." he began, almost sighing as they both continued walking down the old paths. "Everyone knows the Black Jewel was one of the three to be discovered. And that the Wanderer was the one to supposedly have it and take it to Bornheiniculate, causing our guild's collapse...." and he was slowly becoming distasteful towards the subject, but then he perked up. With a small smile he looked down to Claudia as he took each step and added "my thoughts are that the Wanderer is dead... because Merlin was meant to have deactivated all the Jewels, so... i doubt he found a way to grant immortality. Queen Declasia is the only one to have ever done that... aside from the Circle... So..." he paused for thought. This was a hard subject to pull apart. There were so many untold sides to the book here, it is literally a dead end. The Wanderer takes the Black Jewel to the Bone City, the Conclave is judged for being in league with Demons and dark witches and warlocks and BAM, the end.
"I honestly have no idea"

Making her way from Southport had not been difficult. Sick of the sea and just water in general, Rur'Adika was eager to stretch her legs and travel by land. Gypsies had always been known to travel some preferring others, she liked them all, of those she had used. But by land she could see so much more. And coming to the city it had certainly been an experience.
Her wide eyes taking in the many wonders of such a mysterious and unknown place. The raven haired gypsy taking in the different face and races with natural curiosity. With eagerness she station herself in a busier street, setting up her magically self playing band. In her enthusiasm of seeing such a place she brought out most of the stops.
Taking to the music like it was flowing in her bloodstream, Rur'Adika twirled about in a flurry of her skirts. With a clatter of the tambourine in her hand or chimes on her ankles she began to catch the crowds attention. The beat of the drums giving her a tempo to begin to move her body to. Banner of raven hair blowing about her pale but lively glowing face, the smile on her face was proof of that. Then the string instruments came in and the full dance was in full swing.
Tossing the tambourine aside, it floated down to rest with the magic influenced instruments. With both hands free, from a space not seen, Adi pulled a long scarf of sparkling cream and gold. A delicate pattern of swirls and leaves woven into the fabric. The beads on the edge sparkling and casting rainbows in the sunlight present. Feet dancing to the rhythm, arms swaying and clothing with scarf alike twirling she was a vision of musical muse if there was ever one present on the land.

Claudia snuffed at the fact that all the stories and the history itself sounded like a lie. Her thoughts were clear, and she needed to voice them even if they were a bit unethical. "I don't know about you, but I bet the Wander's still out there. Don't you find it strange that Delasia sent on this "mission" just like our last?" Her voice lowered to more of a whisper as she pulled Nyru to the side, and off the streets. She didn't realize that they were standing not to far from a gypsy girl dance for her daily bread."I have that uneasy feeling in my gut ever since we left the Land of Crows. Why did we need to join a seemingly pointless battle? Our unexpected encounter was a holder of one of the Jewels, and now where on a guest to unveil secrets long forgotten. I want to assume the worst, but I have evidence to prove my assumptions." She was referring to the queen, however, she knew she was throwing this endeavor out of portions.
Nyru knew better, and maybe she just wanted to make a big deal out of something she could care less about because it's not about her. Still it could be possible that the answer to the Legend of the Wander was right in front of their noses. Claudia brushed her blonde bangs out of face and shook her head. What kind of childhood nonsense had her brain conjured up? "Sorry, I guess I'm on edge. The battle really did a number on me."

Soon enough, there were a gradual increase of music coming from one of the crossroads, between all the great homes and shops of the city, near a fountain, were an odd looking female. He only caught a little glimpse of her before Claudia had spoke up and then pulled him aside, jerking his attention away he suddenly realised what she was going on about. Wide-eyed, he looked down to her and said "I don't mean to say that Declasia" wants the Black Jewel. He couldn't say the rest, but he glared at her with his face tilted before saying quietly. "we should keep this to ourselves, Claudia. I don't feel like finding out if the death penalty is still in action" he then shook his head, rubbing his forehead. "We'll do what we must, Claudia... and if it seems like our queen is not as she appears to be then we'll do something about it, ok?" he then smiled, putting up a thumb.
Making his way back into the main street to get away from the conversation, he got a better look at the woman, she was definitely not from around here. Everything about her was foreign, then Nyru began to wonder what other kinds of people will come into their borders.
"Hey, Claudia. Perhaps you should take this up as a hobby" he gestured to the female, joining the crowd but not getting too clase, he didn't like being too close to people. And as always, it would only make them stand out from the crowd so to speak.

The crowd she was gathering with her performance was growing, however, Rur'Adika was to distracted and in her moment to noticed. So caught up in the music and the dance, that was all she knew in her world. The movement of her body to the sway and thrum of the music. Like her increased heartbeat, she could feel it in her veins.
Still eager to perform, and eager to please her on lookers, Adi in a sense of boldness pulled a young man from the crowd. Drew him from the mass of bodies and into the open. The look on his face was embarrassment and surprise as Adi began to twirl and danced around him; a slow smile growing on his face as he watched her with intrigue. The decorative scarf in her hands flowed about till it rested around his neck, drawing him in as he was far taller then herself.
The crowd perhaps thinking she was going to give the young man a kiss, however, that wasn't the case. Swiftly releasing the scarf, the raven haired gypsy twirled away on her delicate dancing feet and gave the man a playful shove to his back towards the crowd once more. The grin on Adi's face was one of mischief but genuine kindness.
Feeling the music begin to ebb slightly, her body feeling the ending coming. Like she did in Southport, she lifted her palms to her lips, kissing the ruby gems adorning her hands. In swirling storm of fire swirls and birds formed and flew above the crowd before exploding into harmless sparks. ☽━━☆━━☾

Nyru wanted to keep the conversation on the down low like she did. However, he tried to ensure that necessary precautions will be taken if the queen is not who she appears to be. Claudia wanted more than anything to believe him, but how would they even get to the queen. She had guards that were ranked about the same level as them. They could be easily out matched and thrown into a cell for treason. And like Nyru said, the death penalty might still be in order. That's what she's always wanted, her head on a golden platter. The thought made her cringe, but Nyru broke the tension.
His comment was not amusing, and she wouldn't dare move her body in such a vulgar manner. She crossed her arms and turned away not wanting to watch the spectacle. If Nyru wanted to watch his pleasures being displayed that was fine, but she is a sophisticated woman with priorities. The blonde strolled over to a shop window across the way ignoring her partner and the gypsy.

From shadows We'll descend upon the world Take back what you stole From shadowsNyru Statem
Trying to brush the matter aside like useless dust on the kitchen floor, he tried to take in what the gypsie was doing. It was strange, the Gypsies had their own kind of magic, it was something unlike any other in Magic Earth, they had styled it to their own unique mastery. Though you could say those of the Injustira Syndicate fashion their magic to light, but that's a mere use of light magic, same with himself and shadow magic. The Circle used nature and the Sovereignty simply augmented arcane arts. But Gypsies, they took it apart and made it into something new.
Suddenly the sky was alight with flaming birds, a wonderful spectacle as they turned to harmless sparks. The young man she took earlier still dazed by her charm, Nyru could only think what he would have done if she had chosen him. Good thing she didn't. Arms crossed he continued watching, though the vibe seemed to slow as the crowd began to dissipate. Then he clicked that Claudia wasn't by his side, gazing around at the dull streets he found her staring into a shop window, almost typical of her. Nyru then wondered how often this woman would perform to get herself enough money to live on, and judging by the crowds, not too much. It was like she had most of the men at her finger tips.
Suddenly there was a chill about the streets, something Nyru dismissed as normal for the Land of Crows, and the however dull sky began to dull further, something else he almost dismissed until he heard a rumble, it was very faint and from the clouds above, they were getting darker and darker as they almost began to spiral. Trying to ignore it he wanted to believe it just something of the winter weather. Looking back down to the Gypsie he saw her finished now, and looking over her goods. Everyone else had gone now, but Nyru mysteriously kept staring at her general direction. His shredded cloth hanging from his waist and shoulders gliding in the gathering wind. And then there it was again! That rumbled was louder, and caused him to shoot his sight back above him once more. But this time he wasn't greeted so nicely, the spiraling black clouds were now funneling downwards.
Nyru took some small steps back as he continued staring up, raising his voice as he slowly shouted "Claudia..." emphasizing the past part of her name. Everyone else around them simple got out umbrellas or magical black feather shields above their heads... but then some of them saw the oncoming clouds.
"Mummy! Its like the bedtime story!" shouted one excited young girl, pointing it out to her mother who then replied "Yes, yes it does Nalia, we have to leave now okay?" her voice was shaky, it was like disbelief. The stories that the population of the Land of Crows always told their children to make them behave spoke of black clouds. Some other old begger man was almost hysterically laughing as he looked to Nyru stating "The darkness is coming Royal Guard" almost as if to mock him. "Claudia!!!" he then shouted as the clouds funneled down further, nearing the higher building roofs. His circlet upon his head them unfolded into a fully defensive helmet, hiding his skin, eyes and hair.
He feared for the Gypsies safety, and hoped she would leave quickly. But then again when did anything these days ever go to plan, she would most likely stick around only to surprise them like everyone else does in the modern world. But even at the same time he could only repeat one line from the poem he was taught as a child "When the Darkness Comes". It was a silly poem, it was years and years old, it didn't even rhyme or make sense for the most part, it just taught young children i the Land of Crows to never be evil or invite the death to everyone around them. But of coarse, what most children didn't know until their later years was that there is far more to it. That poem is nothing but a mere sliver of the bigger picture, the legend. In the oldest of texts loony scholars talk about how an impending doomsday of darkness, will find its way to Magic Earth, using man's evil as a lit pathway to bring nothing but death and misery. And throughout this legend, it talks of a stone that is key, but that is all.

With her literal flare of showmanship, the crowd around her cheered and clapped. Adi ever appreciative of such praise smiled and gave a bow and a curtsy. Even as the coins began to chime as they flew through the air and tinged across the street near her feet, she ignored it. Though the money was useful for her food and way of life, it was really the crowd she looked forward to to each day's performance.
The young eligible men stuck around to smile at her, praise her, even perhaps a little more directed in gaining her attention. Adi thought always gave a thank you in reply and perhaps a little chit chat but she never gave them the idea that she was interested in such things.
Busing herself with picking up the coins she could find before others did, the raven haired gypsy put them in her coin pouch and enjoying out the weight quickly became noticeable. Only when done with that did she tend to her magical instruments, making sure they were taken care of, as they were key in her success. So when the skies began to rumble she looked to the skies and noted the dark storm clouds. Rain would not do her instruments any good so quickly went about picking them up and safely putting them in the saddle bags that appeared incapable of holding such a load.
Rumbling came again, and voices of worry were heard, Rur'Adika was only paying half a mind to them, though odd considering storms were normal no matter the land. However, a child's words made her think and looking up once more the gypsy noted their odd movements. Not normal storm clouds...storm clouds didn't move that way, neither were they that dark.
Curious as ever she stared and waited. Though in the back of her mind, Adi knew she would need something to create a light source. As it was soon going to be rather dark.

Claudia may have not been interested in the Gypsie, but the light that was fading from the area held her attention. While everyone distracted by the mistress, the blonde was keeping her focus on more important matters. Through the window's reflection, she could see the clouds in the sky swirling and darkening in shade. Birds of all kinds of different species bellowed their warnings of danger before flying out of sight in the opposite direction. The first rumble was dismissed by the folks below, but the second rumble was acknowledged and chaos spread. Nyru called her name and she could hear the urgency in his voice, but she simple ignored it. Why? Because fear would over take his logic, he needed to be calm and think straight.
A child and her mother walked by pointing out their impending doom, however, the child didn't grasp how direr the situation was. Her mother must have never shared the poem about how the darkness is coming. An old homeless man mocked Nyru, but even in his delusional state he had better understanding than Nyru. Her companion beckoned her once more, and she quickly turned on her heels walking over to him.
His helmet was covering his face, but the protect from it wasn't necessary. He just needed it for comfort and security at the moment. She placed her hand gently on his shoulder turning him towards her. The female then began to step away with her arm still reached out to him. "Remember, keep moving or the darkness will over take you." Claudia quoted a part of the poem hoping the male would get the idea. If people were wise like them they would walk away with calm clear cautious minds instead of running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

As he continued to step backwards he was suddenly caught on the shoulder by his companion. His fellow Caster was telling him that he had to remain calm, as always, and never let the situation get a hold of him. But then again, not that he believed it, wasn't this something that should never really happen? After all.. they're legends... myths... children's stories! Giving Claudia a short nod as he agreed with her, he tightened his metallic fists and studied the area. Most others were gone, it was just himself, Claudia and... the Gypsie was still here! Time moved slowly, in his mind he was beginning to try and think of what to do, but like a holy choir singing its dire message in the back of his skull he watched as the funnel of black cloud neared closer and closer, its point growing ever thinner like it wanted to kiss the pavement.
And, like usual, Nyru gave in to protect other's before himself. Darting over to the Gypsie he left Claudia alone for a few seconds, but half way there he heard something deathly. The funnel of clouds had hit the ground and though was now thicker than a regular tree's trunk, it certainly left a nasty scar. This scar being one in his ears. It sounded like someone's screams were being sucked out from someones lungs as he sharply turned to gaze upon the black air whispering to its surroundings, what happened next though certainly surprised him. He had expected a destructive, magically enhanced tornado - no - he was wrong. From the very tip conjured up creatures that were almost humanoid. At first they were mere standing beings no taller than himself that were like moving fog. But then after some more adjustment to the air of our world their skin turned to thick black smoke and then finally revealed themselves.
The creatures were slender, bony and had black eyes. Their skin was still dull, and extending from their wrists were horrific appendages like blades. At least a dozen had revealed themselves now in such a small space of time. These creatures stared at them, almost with hatred... or disgust, or perhaps there was no emotion whatsoever. Then the funnel of black clouds seemed to start retreating back into the abyssal moor above them. At least they could hope no more would follow... for now. Nyru quickly looked over his shoulder to the gypsie and shouted "You need to leave!" as he pulled out his blade. He had only hoped these creatures were as mindless as those of the Scarred of Bloodholme, perhaps they were wrong, he realised this when he brought down his blade to take off the arm from one of the creatures. But it blocked his first attack and as its sinister smiled greeted him with sharp teeth, Nyru realised these things looked almost human, and they knew exactly what they were doing. In a stand off with the creature, Nyru holding down his blade against it's two appendages he shouted "We need a strategy!"
Hopefully Claudia will ahve something up her sleeve, and he hoped the gypsie woudl be safe, but then again, she may surprise them.

Focused on what was coming, that didn't mean that she was ignoring the rest of what was around her. And around her was not so much, a lot of the people had gone and more and more making their way past her in the opposite direction of the odd clouds. It wasn't long though till it was her and two others in the vacant street staring at what was coming forth.
And what came forth from the torrent of darkness and clouds was quiet shocking. Creatures of the oddest kind formed from swirling bits of smoke to condense into blackened skin and onyx eyes. These creatures did not look friendly, specially the blades coming from their arms. Adi didn't realize she was staring in shock un-moving till a outcry for her to leave rang out.
Jumping inches from the ground, her head turned to the strange that had ordered her to leave. The helm he wore hid his face and identifying features, but by the sword in his hand he had to have been some sort of solider. Same with the blonde female companion he had left to jump into the fray. The creatures too knew how to use their weapons well and this was not some random event...it had perpose, whatever it was.
A cry of strategy made Rur'Adika jump again, never fond of battle, she knew she had to fight this time. In a flurry of skirts and dodging a few creatures that had gotten nearer from separating themselves from the groups she went to Croix. Swinging into the saddle she dug through the bags of hers pulling forth an assortment of daggers and weapons; including a bow and quiver of arrows. Croix himself shuffling and stomping his fore-hoofs in agitation and fear.
"Where is that damn orb!?" she exclaimed still digging for something else. "Do you know if they like light!?" Adi cried coming up with an idea; if they came from darkened clouds of a magical nature, light may be a weakness.

Nyru, of course, was selfish and that's what she liked most about him. Unlike her, he had a heart of gold and basically she was the other side of the coin. He ran over to the Gypsie without thinking about the consequences that were about to unfold. The sound of the tornado's high whistling or screaming rattled her ear drums. If the sound was any closer, her ears would have defiantly started to bleed. In the eye of the tornado silhouettes of gangling figures started to appear, and she had to admit that she wasn't to surprised. After the war, and the unexpected visit from the underworld, these creatures seemed like nothing.
Their skin was pale, and they had beady black eyes that weren't portioned with their heads. Not only that, but for some reason they had weapons built into their anatomy. Nyru attacked, but was negated. These creatures were different from the Scarred, they were intelligent and skilled in combat. None of the Scarred even tried to their attacks. They just ran forward like a hoard of mindless zombies in the hopes that they wouldn't be caught.
Nyru continued to hold on of them off as he asked for her assistance. She didn't have a plan because just looking at the creatures made her feel intimidated. The blonde crouched, pulled out an arrow, and loaded it on the bow. He aimed for one of the demon's thighs, but when she shot it dodged her assault easily. It didn't even look her way, it probably just heard or felt the arrow flying towards it. Her and her partner were outmatched and there didn't look like any hope of winning. However, the Gypsie was rummaging through her bags, and shouted a question to them. She must have some kind of plan because she asked if they were affected by light. This was the first time these things revealed themselves so she knew nothing about them. "If you have a plan then stop wasting time, and do it." Claudia said rather bluntly. She needed to act now before the creatures got to her.
