 With barely a customer in sight all afternoon, it had been a slow day and dusk was now settling in. The usually diligent Killing Moon left the end-of-day cleaning to the other tribe members and wandered towards the back of the store, studiously ignoring the loud crash and shout from Sunspot behind him. He had stood there all afternoon and he figured he deserved a break. The Killing Moon was in somewhat of a bad mood, a fact that would probably come to a surprise to anyone that knew him. He didn't have bad days and when he did, he didn't show it. Today however, his dissatisfaction was clear and so far nobody had been game enough to ask him about it. It was time for some chicken therapy, he decided as he marched towards where Little Lady was roosting with her fellow hens. Jun D idek what I'm typing, but it's a start

The monochrome vision of Forlorn was there to greet him.
"Hello," she said, not having looked up as she nosed about the nests - occasionally, a chicken not yet gone to roost had to be displaced with a mild flurry of squawks, "there were thirteen eggs this morning, but only twelve were accounted for, and Pull doesn't think he saw more than twelve taken out of the nesting area. Perhaps you could ask your Little Lady where the last egg went?"Ruriska It is wonderful, I love. D< I love Killing Moon and I love Little Lady, so ner!

"Hm," was the only response the usually pleasantly eloquent buck gave Forlorn as he continued on to where Little Lady was sitting contently on her nest, the chicken stubbornly refusing to budge for anyone. The plump bird gave a pleased cluck when she saw him, ruffling her feathers in greeting. "Have you been hiding eggs again, darling?" He asked as he gave her side a gentle nudge, trying to peek under her amble feathery body. The chicken gave his nose a light, but indignant sort of peck. He chuckled.

"You spoil her," she said, with the faintest trace of a smile. Her indifferent tone made it difficult to discern if she was chiding or amused, "she thinks herself the boss of you - which makes her boss to most of us."Ruriska Aaah I'm sorry for making you wait so long, darlin', I'll be trying to reply to all our RPs today! <3

"I wouldn't complain. She makes a wonderful boss." He replied with a smile, his usual good mood already restored as watched his precious hen. Little Lady tucked her neck in and closed her eyes, making it clear that she considered right now a good time to take a nap. "Let her keep the egg for now. She'll give it back later."

Even one as Forlorn had to laugh, "You really do spoil her," she stepped back in acquiescence, "and while I would have little objection to our new feathery tyrant, I doubt the likes of Best would be so pleased. I supposed we would just have to tell him, 'but, oh, see - just being under her rule for a bare moment makes your darling brother feel so much better already.' He laughed, imagining his brother's expression if such a conversation did take place. "Best likes to grumble about everything, but I'm sure he'd eventually come to see the pros to having a chicken queen. The increase in nap times would be hard to argue against."

She stood there, quiet, contemplative, for a moment more. When she spoke, her lips moved before the words came, as if hesitant, "Is it something you'd like to talk about...or has Little Lady already purged it from your system?"

He regarded her curiously, clearly weighing up pros and cons of confiding in her. "...no." It wasn't worth dredging up the issue that had ruined half of his day. She simply nodded, perhaps relieved. She was not the best with emotions.
"Then...perhaps you might do me the honour of walking awhile with me?"
There was a rare twinkle in her eye as she inclined her head, awaiting his reply, as she stepped away from the coop.Ruriska I couldn't think of anything else for them to do here so I'm going to pull the oldest cliche in the book! QAQ Let's do this in time for Christmas YEAH!

He hesitated only a moment, judging that twinkle. "Nothing would please me more."Dipping his head into a slight but agreeable bow, he followed. Jun D We can do it! *o* We can always time skip around if we find them with nothing to talk about.

She turned away before he could see the brief flicker of surprise that crossed her face, and started the trek. She did not seek company often, and did not expect company to acquiesce when sought.
"Sometimes I go this way," she said, as they passed the storefront, walking further South, where far, far, they knew the ocean lay, "I do not always make it where I mean to, but the journey is its own reward. But you would know that better than I - you have been everywhere. I don't often leave the shop."Ruriska I was thinking the last few posts after this little journey could be her telling him when she finds out she's pregnant or something! XD;; It might be a nice, neat way to close off their arc, and it could be cute to see their reactions! Left jumps in, "JUDAS," he cries at Forlorn, "I TRUSTED YOU - uh, I mean, congrats."

Moving up alongside the doe, Killing Moon matched his pace to hers. His head was partly tilted as he listened, and his smile, when she had finished speaking, was amused. "Everywhere you say? No. There are places I would go that I do not, because I am always drawn back before I get too far." He would often pause mid-stride, staring into the middle distance as the urge to travel waged a violent war with his love for his family. Rarely did he take himself further than a day's walk from home and if he was away longer, it was only because he lingered on the outskirts. Jun D That sounds perfect. <3 Also this is a good time to bring up wanting Killing Moon to go on a long trip I'd love to RP with the family, his goodbyes, etc.

She caught the trace of wistfulness in his voice, and slid thoughtful eyes over as they moved. "Where would you go?"Ruriska Exciting developments in Killing Moon's life! Yesss you know that even if I'm slow, I'm 1000% up for this and the drama it will cause in Left's life: Daily, Left grooms his precious bunny. When nobody hears, he talks to it in quiet whispers, "But of course you are fine out there, Killing Moon. You'll be home before I know it."! Shall we pencil in their Left-runs-off-to-The-Friends arc after that? XD

His eyes gleam as he imagines those far-off places, then he looks away as guilt claws at his heart. Leave the shop? His family? His brother? Surely, he could not. They were his life. Jun D Than you darlin'. <3 I'll probably work to set something up soon so we can take our time with it. Poor Left, he'll come back for you don't worry. And I think that would work nicely. I'll elaborate more on those thoughts in PM form at some point.
