Welcome to my pairings thread! It's about time I got into this whole breeding and flinging business.
If you're interested in any of my kin shown here, please don't hesitate to post or toss a PM my way. My main journal is right here if you'd like to take a look at any unlisted kin -- either because I forgot, or I'm more picky, but I might be convinced!
I'm shaky about RP, still unsure of myself in this setting and busy with work besides, but if you're willing to be patient and help plot things out, I can be convinced. Or, we can just focus on breeding some beauties! If that sounds like a good time to you, a few notes:
1. I'm happy to pay whatever breeding fees and will probably slap down some bribes when I post, so no worries there if you can't! 2. Please mention if you have a preference on throwbacks for either kin, if any. Otherwise, I'll probably be a fat king and choose whatever. 3. I've been away from Matope for a while so if I'm overlooking anything obvious or going about things the wrong way, I'm so sorry. orz I haven't bred my kin a ton so what am I doing??

Ladies First!
Mudbright aka Mud Status Open for breeding / Closed for RP
Her timid manner hides a bright mind and quiet determination to learn all she can of the swamp she calls home. Mud enjoys meeting other kin, but she's more likely to listen and observe before speaking up. When she does speak, it's probably to ask questions.
Despite the high expectations and respect she has for other kin, Mud herself is modest to the point of self-deprecation, folding easily under the attention of others. She is a sucker for affection but never expects a male might stick around. Nonetheless, to quell her loneliness, Mud is a nurturing mother should it come to that and enjoys checking on grown children.
Looking for: Pairs - Natural and muted tones; white would be especially nice. I'm also fond of blue and brown! Plots - Always looking for kin to learn trades, skills, and knowledge from.

Find Peace aka Dove Status Open for breeding / RP is tentative!
As her name would imply, Dove is devoted to finding and spreading peace. She's a dreamy doe, similarly infatuated with the thought of love, and holds a lot of hope for every kin she meets. However, she can be a bit too easily spooked and discouraged. Who could think of breaking such a gentle doe's heart?!
The truth is, Dove's heart is easily broken. She expects every fling to be a lifemate and is, seriously, in love with the thought of being in love. Flitting from kin to kin when things fall through, Dove adores intimacy, flirting easily but always finding herself at a bit of a loss when it comes to the results of her coupling. She's shy when things are expected of her.
Looking for: Pairs - Pretty much a blank canvas; as always, natural and muted colors preferred along with simple and understated markings, but crazy stuff with such a plain kimeti could be interesting! Plots - Whirlwind romance and heartbreak RP goooo. Being put into situations where she is expected to act and be brave would also be excellent.

Fought With Fury aka Firebrand Status Open for breeding / RP is tentative!
Firebrand's bold and aggressive manner is quick to drive others away, as she's always trying to goad others into giving her what she wants. Driven to fight in order to blow off steam, a reprieve from the the rage always bubbling within her, kin are nothing but potential targets first and foremost. Regardless of age or rank, Firebrand doesn't show any respect unless she's bested in a fight, so go on. Try to impress her. It might be worth it, as she can be a surprisingly loyal ally once she's been won over.
Hey loyalty doesn't always extend to mates or children, however, as Firebrand prefers to be left to her own devices. Flings are good fun, almost as good as fights, but anything beyond that is a terrible bore she has no time or patience for.
Looking for: Pairs - No idea. Throw whatever at me! Maybe more reds, my favorite color. :9 Plots - Simply enough, kin to enrage her, or kin to tame her. She's not one to make friends, but it might be funny to have her meet an eternally chipper kin. Of course, she's always looking for fights, too, but more focused kin could teach her to use that rage for better (or worse!).

Letting Go aka Go-Go Status Open for breeding / Closed for RP
Go-Go's the classic acha gal, always chasing highs and good experiences, but she means to bring it, too, with an encouraging and affectionate manner meant to build others up. Nothing makes her happier than seeing others having a good time, especially if her singing is the cause of it.
While Go-Go prefers the company of does for more long-term relationships, she makes it a game of trying to woo any kin with her voice. Her parenting is a little more suspect, as she isn't one to stick around and is more likely to treat any offspring more like friends than children.
Looking for: Pairs - Color! Flowers! Anything cute and cheery or even monster-y! Plots - Not likely to RP her just yet.

Sunbird aka Sunny Status Open for breeding / Closed for RP
Despite being such a majestic sight, Sunny is the bumbling type. His hobbies include languishing in picturesque ways, verbose declarations of woe, and pining for true love, but with his theatrics he'll probably always stay a bachelor. Easily lead along thanks to his trusting nature, someone has to whip him into shape eventually.
Torn between his need to be adored as well as told what to do, Sunny usually falls hard for more aggressive types. He does not take rejection nor abandonment well and will trail after any children as a well-meaning but frankly kind of flaky father. At his core, Sunny wants to be strong for himself, but it's easier to cling to fleeting relations.
Looking for: Pairs - Reds and blues are always nice, as simple kin to bring out the wing markings. Sunny himself seems to have a preference for Kio does. Plots - Well-meaning (or reluctant) bros for Sunny to complain to about his miseries. Artistic kin who can spin his melodrama into talents would probably do great for his self-esteem. But first, some wily does to break his heart!
Death in the Afternoon aka Bloodsport Status Open for breeding / RP is tentative!
If you can look past Bloodsport's strange hobby of looking for animals to fight—not hunt, fight—and if you can look past the fact that he always wants to showcase his great bravado, this high-energy kio can be a fun friend just looking to make some adventure.
Still somewhat childish himself, Bloodsport isn't the best father, but he's a proud one given the chance, and will insist on teaching his progeny the art of "beast fighting." As a mate, he is adoring and romantic, but just as concerned as being fawned over right back. While Bloodsport doesn't like to show it, separation does sadden him, and he longs for a Lifemate eventually.
Looking for: Pairs - Cow-like markings, butch/bull edits, scars n horror, too. Other than that, try me! As a note, he would likely be afraid of any kin with reptile-like features. Plots - Hunter-minded kin for Bloodsport to learn from/befriend/horrify with his waste of perfectly good dead animals. Animal-like kin for Bloodsport to try to fight (really), reptile-like kin to rattle him badly. Eventual calling out for his brutal sport. Keep your pets and familiars away from this kio, folks!

A Stranded Star aka Comet Status Open for breeding / Closed for RP
A bit of a melancholy buck, Comet might take some prodding to get talking, but once he does open up he reveals a thoughtful, sensitive side—maybe a bit too sensitive, as he is rather cynical and doesn't want to do much for fear of the world. It can get a bit lonely, honestly, being so cautious.
Hesitant to get too close to other kin, he would be the type to drift away after some time. Comet's isolation is very much self-imposed, as much as it frustrates him as well. Perhaps he could be convinced to stay, provided he meets a patient enough kin.
Looking for: Pairs - Not sure. He's pretty simple, so toss whatever you'd like at me! Plots - Some like-minded kin to help him get over his trepidation, but more importantly, some kin to prove his pessimism too.
Made Peace aka Truce Status Open for breeding / RP is tentative!
Truce likes to butt his head into anyone and everyone's business, and once he's in it's hard to get this stubborn buck out. Convinced his way is the right and only way, he barks orders like he owns the place and intimidates others into listening. Peace or else.
That all being said, it's no surprise Truce would be adamant in being around for the proper raising of any of his offspring. He's virtuous, just kind of frustrating at times, so actually getting a mate is more of an issue. He has a soft spot for kindly does who don't mind his Strong Feelings.
Looking for: Pairs - Lambs are my favorite thing ever, so other Totoma are a huge plus, but I'll probably accept anything for Truce. Plots - If anyone is willing to make their Totoma the one in Truce's naming story, plenty of plots could come from that! Friends, frienemies, or only just meeting once again? Truce could always use some drama to get in on and try to play mediator, too, or become a bully without realizing it.

In a While aka Wait Status Open for breeding / RP is tentative!
It can be a bit difficult to get Wait to, well, wait and talk a bit because of what a busybody he is. Easily excitable and hasty because of it, he loves nothing more than exploring the swamp in search of new things to grow, but always comes back home to his pumpkin patch. Careful, though; Wait can be territorial, cheerful silliness turning to caiman-fierce in an instant.
Wait's possessive streak would likely make him a rather protective father, even from his own mate, but his easily-distracted manner would dampen that a bit. If nothing else, there's no denying Wait can provide for a family.
Looking for: Pairs - Anything and everything. Who doesn't want some of this croccha action? Monster-like/reptilian kin a plus. Plots - Would make good friends with gardener kin. Might be fun to showcase his fiercer side, too.

Islands in the Stream aka Isles Status Open for breeding / Closed for RP
Isles wishes to provide comfort and companionship, but his propensity to snap in outbursts of anger leaves him further frustrated. An outward calm hides some depth of violence, and he can be a rather intense buck in his attempts to keep steady, steady...
Not one to get too close to other kin because of his fits of rage, it's hard to say what Isles would look for in a mate, and he'd be unlikely to stick around after a fling anyway. It's not something he thinks about often, as he's more interested in maybe a friend or two at least.
Looking for: Pairs - Anything, really! Plots - Kin patient enough to deal with Isles' anger, or maybe actually put off by it but too kind to say so. Alternatively, manipulative kin to kindle that propensity towards violence and use it in some way.

Something Good aka Boon Status Open for breeding / Closed for RP
Boon wants very much to live up to his name. He tries very hard to be noble and helpful to his fellow kin, but this can sometimes mean putting his own wants aside, which... it can wear on a buck. Nonetheless, he's not one to complain aloud, putting on a confident face even as he frets terribly over others.
With how much of a kin-pleaser he can be, Boon would be a doting mate given the chance, though he tends to overestimate others' feelings and see romantic feelings where there aren't any. This, naturally, leads to more fretting.
Looking for: Pairs - More naturals, please! Butch and horns/antlers a plus. Plots - Would do well with kin who need some support, but might also scare or confuse Boon into sticking up for himself. General friends, of course, would be lovely.

Looking for: Pairs - I'll take whoever would deign to fling with this creep, I swear. White and black kin (especially with skeletal markings) would be fantastic, but sickly/mutated types, grody horror, and reptilian edits are also adored. Because I have a terrible sense of humor, I'd actually love to see Slit get with an exceptionally beautiful doe just to see what a mess the kids would be, but actually why would you do that to your lovelies? Plots - Kin to harass, creep on, and generally be a nuisance to. He would have a keen interest in reptilian and hobbyist kin and doesn't much take 'leave me alone' for an answer.

I remembered why I was so nervous about bumping my pairings thread. TURNS OUT I'M REALLY INDECISIVE and wish I could just say yes to everything.

But uh thank you I'm so flattered. QuQ Rock Sparrow looks amazing with Boon; I'd love to pair them! And all those Go-Go pairs are so good I... I actually do have the biggest weakness for monsterboys and I can't believe I hadn't considered that. If you don't mind I'd be pumped as hell to switch between Option and Isle in my slots!

I probably should have mentioned in my first post, but when it comes to posting pairings in threads and bribing, I'm more than happy to pay for things.
dude yesssss I am so into all four of those, let's do this lets make it happen. After my auction this month, I'm good for splitting bribes! You can list whatever throwbacks you want on any of those pairs, if you want any at all (though I usually go for MAXIMUM COLOR/SPARKLE with Smile/Isle's family, lmao lots of stars); I'm also fine with whatever you want irt edits and growing/non. I'm good for a really fast blessing if we get chosen - the benefits of having my own legendary! - and I prefer to name a newbie when I can, but I can't really think of one I haven't given a kin to recently, ahaha.

I actually do have the biggest weakness for monsterboys and I can't believe I hadn't considered that. If you don't mind I'd be pumped as hell to switch between Option and Isle in my slots!
