Bedwyr was walking his path yet again - the one that he ambled up and down the length of a small region, watching out for plants and animals in need of healing. It'd been a while since he'd stumbled into a stranger, but that made it all the more likely that he would sometime soon; it was, after all, a highly populated land and growing all the time. It had, however, been far longer since he'd met Hakumei that he'd run into a pure unicorn - one to whose experiences he could completely relate. Having missed his family since he was a child, he was ready to find another, possibly one like his: fanatics though they had been, there was nothing like the beauty that radiated from a pure's shiny horn a cloven hooves.

Baldev joyfully thread his way through the woods. His two-legger, responsible for his hair care, had done something new that kept the masses of hair from being stepped on needlessly. Jaslyn had gone off on one of her usual benders. God bless his mate, but she got bored fairly frequently and needed to go out on an adventure. Heaven only knows what she did, but she came back fully energized and telling tales about all sorts of interesting folks. The bright blue stallion chuckled before noticing another unicorn up ahead. "Ahoy there!" It was good to see another of his kind, and he even appeared to be pure.

Looking up from the patch of ground he'd been studying for broken plants, Bedwyr felt his eyes widen. Sure, in his herd, there had been unicorns that had been proud of their gorgeous, naturally crimped hair - but the soquili before him had more of it than all of them combined. Bedwyr himself had never been able to grow his hair out longer than it was at present, and not for lack of trying, either: he'd quite enjoyed looking at long hair, though he couldn't imagine caring for hair like this blue one's. "Ah- Hello there," he replied, having to consciously stop himself from saying "ahoy" back. Mentally shaking his head, Bedwyr immediately felt an odd sort of kinship with the stallion - whether or not he felt the same, Bedwyr could not tell. "How are you today, good sir?" he called, walking closer at a leisurely pace.

Baldev grinned at the younger stallion and propped up a hind leg as soon as he was close enough to settle in. "I'm doin' well, I am called Baldev and what name do you have for yourself?" The stallion couldn't help but toss his head a few times letting silver-white hair fall and settle in a studied disarray. Having not bothered to check out exactly how far away from his teepee he had wandered, Baldev took a moment to reorient himself with the surroundings, not too far away at all. "What brings you to this neck of the woods? We don't get many visitors out this way... Nor do we usually get such wholesome visitors." To anyone else's ears except his own Baldev sounded a bit like a jerk. He really meant no harm, old habits died hard.

"My name is Bedwyr," he replied, once he was close enough to comfortably talk to Baldev. Pronouncing his name the proper way, Bediveer, he glanced at the venerable stallion as he tossed his mane. Whether it was uncomfortable or he was simply full of himself, Bedwyr realized he would probably never get the tangles out of a mane that long, especially with his traditionally crimped mane. "I travel a short path when I'm out this way to heal damaged things, though I must admit, I've never seen a pure out here," he said, assuming by Baldev's slightly haughty air that he was, in fact, a pure. Bedwyr's son Fergus and daughter Ishika both resembled pure unicorns, though in their case, appearances were deceiving - both had wind lineage.

"I'm quite pleased to meet you Bedwyr. My mate is off doing... well..." An honestl curious expression crossed the stallion's face... "Eh, Jassy goes off on jaunt's you see. Gypsy blood." Chuckles, and isn't particularly focused on the other stallion right now, "Ahh, My Jassy, she claims it's good to have a bit of distance in a relationship... keeps a couple from becoming enbittered and disenchanted with each other." A bit of a snort, "Unlikely I say, with as much a sass-mouth as she is? Keeps me young." Baldev comes back to himself and chuckles a bit, "Sorry Bedwyr, you're not the first and probably won't be the last to see me get a bit addle-pated with Jassy -- and she's not even present. Now then.. what were we talking about? What-oh, yes. We honestly don't see too many visitors out this way... except for the wounded. Between Jaslyn, Rupali - my daughter, - and myself we usually can get even grave injuries at least resting comfortably."

"Ah, I know a mare or two like that," Bedwyr replied, thinking back to his ex-mate, who was a bit flighty herself. Glad that he no longer thought of her bitterly, Bedwyr smiled and decided not to mention the fact that he'd 'diluted' his pure lineage with wind bloodlines, though his blood had been strong enough to land all three of his children with horns. Chuckling a bit at the other stallion's open emotions, he couldn't help a grin. "It's refreshing to find a stallion in such an openly devoted relationship with his mate. How do you injure yourselves so easily?" Bedwyr asked, eyeing the stallion and moving on. He figured the injuries were most likely caused be entanglement in the masses of hair that both he and his mate had undoubtedly passed to their daughter. "At least you can heal each other relatively easily, yes?" Hoping that this family weren't the kind to 'save' their healing powers, rather than helping those in need, Bedwyr studied Baldev a bit more. If he didn't know his own family, the much younger stallion would have thought that the two of them were related, between the blue coats and the swirls.

"Jaslyn is a creature of her own. I mean, I'm sure that you've heard enough about my mate but the only difference I've seen between flighty mares and mine? She comes home eventually and I don't question what she's been doing. I really don't." Sighs softly and thinks of how long it's been, a month had drug itself by and he was enjoying some time spent with this other stallion. His Rupali was beautiful and sweet, but she was also really reserved... Pondering injuries for a few moments, Baldev chuckled and shook his head, "You know.. the injuries tend to come from the most random things.. Tripping over roots, not hair... or landing too hard after jumping something... Never what you'd expect from my family." Baldev was having the same kind of dejavu feelings and an idea had started to sprout in his mind.. Rupali was so reserved nowadays .. it wasn't good for a mare. She was probably lonely. "Any immediate plans?"

"I don't know how you do it, going for so long without seeing her. My first love... Well, she could go farther than I could ever follow her. It was hard on both of us, but her wanderlust was too much for her to settle somewhere quiet." If he put it that way, Bedwyr knew he wouldn't have to go into the whole wings business - it was hard enough to look at soquili with wings, let alone talk about them now. He stifled a laugh as Baldev explained his family's tendency toward hurting themselves, though he wondered if they really got so few injuries from tripping over their hair as it sounded like.

At Baldev's next question, though, Bedwyr was startled. It seemed so off-topic and random, some kind of invitation to do something. Caught off guard as he was, he answered automatically and honestly. "No immediate plans. I've just been walking my route... Why do you ask?"

Baldev imagined for a moment what it would be like to not have his Jaslyn. His heart ached at just the simple imaginings so he put it from his mind. That would not happen to them. He had no reason to think about it. His silver eyes looked the stallion over carefully and he felt a simple tugging of respect for the stallion. Losing love was not easy, losing love and bouncing back? Even greater of a task. Had Bedwyr asked about the girls’ hair he would have found that much to Baldev’s chagrin, the girls had taken after their mother for th most part with hair length and were nowhere near as ridiculously fluffy as he had become. “So no immediate plans eh?” The wheels in his head began to crank more and more quickly, “Why don’t you come and meet my mate and my one daughter, Rupali. We are near to the teepee anyway.. and perhaps the two-leg had made something to eat.”
