A two story behemoth, this building of brick and stone once housed all students in the valley who were so close to freedom. A large stone fence encircles the place keeping the grounds free and clear of debris. The place was cleared when things went down leaving behind a lot of potential space. Most of the windows are in tact and the stone walls make it fairly defense able. No one currently bothers it though for fear of what might be in there. As it stands right now there is actually a group hiding within the walls. Most entrances are blocked to the building with only the adults having keys to them. Several classrooms have been converted into sleeping areas, game rooms, and a couple where people still teach the children. Upstairs there are there are four rooms that serve as look out points where those on guard duty keep an eye out. Most of the activity in this place though happens on the second floor in order to prevent the kids from accidently opening up the doors and going into danger. They have plenty of room to grow though and there has been talk of adding more people to the group.

 To say that Lindsay was not devoted to her duties within the the group hiding in the school, was to say that the zombie apocalypse had not actually happened. Since the day she found that the school was giving refuge to a small group of kids and adults, she had made it her top priority. The group grew larger as more young adults sought refuge though they hadn't been taking in as many as they had before. Their amassed food was enough to feed their current group for a time but it needed constant resupplying. That was where Lindsay usually put her effort. Tracking deer and small animals was something she had done years before the outbreak and now only a few weeks, or was it months, into their survival, she had needed to use those skills over and over again. This morning, however; she walked the halls, bow slung over her left shoulder and her wolf hound keeping pace beside her. She had a copy of the school's master key taped to the inside of the bracelet on her left wrist. It allowed her to move about the building freely when she decided a check was in order. A mere week after she had joined up with the group in the school, chaos had almost broken out as opinion clashed and ideas contradicted each other. Lindsay had stood her ground and declared that the role of leadership needed to go to someone or the group would inevitably split up or let their defenses slip and they would all end up perishing. She was nominated after a small discussion. After accepting the role of responsibility, she put in effect a curfew as well as patrols, hunting teams and many other rules that had ensured their safety. The whole point behind her many rules was the redundancy ad it was less likely that something would interfere with their own little community that they had created.
Lindsay took a left down the hall that held the spare rooms that they often used as classrooms for the younger children. She believed, as did the older men and women in the group, that one day the crisis would be over and though life would never return back to the way it was, through the education of mathematics, history, science and the half dozen other subjects, the world could regain a shard of what it once was. Lindsay checked room after room, peering in and quickly scanning for movement before moving to the next. At the end of the hall, she saw a young man approaching the stairwell, apparently to relieve who ever was watching that entrance which meant it was close to seven in the morning. Another hour and everyone would be up and about. The leader of the Foodies turned to the sound of Ryker's low growl. His paws where propped on a window sill and he was peering intently out to the street. Lindsay leaned down to look through the morning glare. A single form limped through the street beyond the boundaries of the school. There was no need for alarm, it wasn't beyond the point of worry yet but still she signaled over the young man and gestured to the person in the street. After exchanging a nod, Lindsay went on her way, back toward the residential rooms where the rest of the group was sleeping.
The door opened almost silently, save for a scratching sound of the hinges grinding against each other. Lindsay went to her cot and sat down the the squeaky contraption and crossed her legs. She wanted to grab a few more moments or rest before the day officially started. There were seven other people in the room with her, all sleeping or at least, trying to. It was hard to sleep anymore with the constant threat of death. Looking at the few kids that shared the room, she felt pity for them. They had to grow up in a world full of fear where your only chances of survival lay with either a large group or the ability to kill the monsters that stalked the streets and forests. There was little room in the new reality for them to be children and despite her dislike of the young ones in general, she wished they had had a few more years to enjoy growing.Friend or foe {Sleeping Friendlies} The compass points North {Residential Room} Just a scratch {In Good Health} Faithful Companions {Trust Bow and Good Friend Ryker} Twang of the bowstring {Left it open for anyone to jump in}

  He hated taking the night shift. Oh lord how he hated it. It wasn't that bad to be honest but the young man preferred to be indoors with his brother. Knowing the small boy was right there by his side easily in reach if something went wrong brought a level of peace to the young teen. Sitting out here hidden near the entrance drove him a smidgen insane but hey they all had to take an evening shift at some point. At his back the stone was cool slipping through the soft material of the hoodie he wore. This was weird to say the least to be sitting outside of the school he had until recently been attending classes in. The only time he'd be caught this close to the entrance before this mess was when he was running behind and racing to get to class. Crazy how things changed huh? One minute he was driving his parents up the wall with his antics, playing video games with his twin and harassing his younger sister without a care in the world. His biggest concerns were what he and his friends were doing tomorrow and how to get out of his grounding. How could life flip so violently? A soft sigh left Rainer as he shifted lightly not wanting his limbs to fall asleep and fail him at a crucial moment. Should he really be spending his night worrying over the past? Probably not but it wasn't like he was going to talk to anyone besides himself about what happened that night. Quin wasn't ready to talk about the night this disaster started and Rainer could understand that. The tiny thing was still having a hard time grasping that Mom wasn't there to cook dinner and that Amelia was not going to read a story to him that night. Thankfully Quin seemed to be ok with the fact that he was there with him so far and wasn't asking too many questions. He was already dreading the day that the angelic little boy started truly wondering what had happened back then. To be completely honest Rainer himself had a lot of trouble accepting what had occurred over the last few weeks. His step father had responded to a couple calls about people freaking out down town and that had been the last time he had seen the man. That had been a hell of a blow for the teen. Honestly he hoped the man was still out there somewhere in the town alive and looking for the two of them. It was all probably wishful thinking though. That night one of their neighbors had crashed through the door and it was over. Back then he didn't know what was wrong with the man but before he knew it they had a hold of his sister. In the chaos his mother had shoved Quin into his arms and half tossed them out the back door. She always had been a lot stronger then she looked. For the first few days they held up in various places around town always ready to run. Rainer had collected a lot of gear by sneaking back into their house. It was somewhat safe after he had corralled the Zoms that used to be his family into separate rooms. Killing them was not something Rainer could do, his twin was especially hard to look at. That first week they did fine, only one time having a major scar when Rainer hadn't realized the door didn't latch properly. It was near the end of that first week that the blond had started raiding other camps he found. Most people would be appalled, others wouldn't care, he just hoped Quin never hated him for it. Rainer's top priority has been and always will be keeping his brother alive. The sound of shuffling brought the young man out of his thoughts and dark blue eyes were quick to find the source. In the early dawn light the figure was almost completely silhouetted as it slowly meander down the road. Their clothing was ripped and tattered splashes of blood decorating it in a festive manner. A twitch of a smile spread on his face. Festive? Well that's one way to look at it. In life the Zom had been a woman not too much older then him. She looked as though she was wearing a uniform for a local diner but he wasn't sure at this distance. For a long moment he just sat there his sword lightly in his grasp watching as she shuffled away. Before the Zom left his sight there was the sound of the well oiled door closing and soft feet on the cement. Rainer exchanged a quiet greeting with his replacement. Getting up from his spot the blond shifted away easily and made his way back in. There was barely any movement in the halls, an equally strange sensation for the blond as it was to know he lived here now. It was endlessly amusing considering how hard most teens fought to get away form their school. For Rainer he had been sneaking in here the day he joined up. With Quin at his side for once, he hadn't been harmed for looting. Instead the leader of the group brought them into their fold. Part of him still expected this to bite him in the a** but thankfully it didn't seem to have that in mind yet. Coming to the room he and Quin shared with others he was surprised to see one of them awake. Guess he should have known she would be though. "Shouldn't you be in bed? You of all people need your rest." Rainer said softly looking at the other blond as he took a seat next to a small sleeping form. From under the covers of the sleeping bag a tuft of golden waves could be seen and Rainer was certain that in there somewhere was that damn cat Quin had picked up. Gently he smoothed the flyaway strands of hair the small boy seeming to relax more at the motion. He smiled softly at the boy before looking back up at Lindsay and her companion. If they were still in here by the time Quin woke there would be an excited little boy in the room. That kid sure did love dogs. Three weeks, who could really believe that three weeks ago everything was normal and no one had ever heard of the walking dead outside of cheesy Hollywood films and their British counterparts. Personally the golden brown haired girl could never believe it if not for the fact she lived it, remembered it, and would never forget it for possibly the rest of her life. If it wasn't for her boyfriend she was pretty sure she would have been killed weeks ago probably at the very beginning of this whole darn mess. Having a military trained man in the same house as you has it's pluses something Rowan knows well even if she found the morning runs an interesting turn of events that were very much enjoyed. Rowan never saw herself as a runner, yes she was graceful, but running was never her forte until she had to run for her life then everything came into play. Survival above all else was important thus when running remember to grab that pack the holds everything you hold dear within it otherwise there isn't much of a life out there something she learned the hard way. After the first goof up of leaving it behind she never wanted to do it again cause not only did she put herself in danger but also it put Drake in danger something she never wanted to do. She now kept the strap within reach at all times and had everything packed within just in case she had to move quickly because Drake had shown her how to be ready for anything including defending herself with a cast iron skillet.
Speaking of that skillet, with a simple leg twitch the thing that was leaning on the leg of her work chair fell to the floor with a sudden clatter causing the golden brown haired girl to jolt awake. Brushing the stray curls out of her face with one slim hand the other rubbed the sleep out of her eyes as she looked around the room like a dazed animal as if where she was wasn't what she expected. " Did I fall asleep at my station again?" She asked herself in a sleepy tone as one hand rubbed and the other combed through her curls lightly before the tips of her smile fingers brushed against the headset that seemed to have slipped down at the base of her neck. She was surprised it was still there as often when she fell asleep at her station it fell off because she seemed to recently become a restless sleeper not that she had any reason to be, right? Numbly pulling the headset from off her neck and setting it lightly onto the desk she looked around the room not taking much in besides that she was alone as well as the serious lack of light. Rubbing her left eye one more time she pondered for a few moments coming to the conclusion that it was merely just the edge of dawn meaning the watch shifts would be changing and soon the other would be getting up. As much as she just wanted to curl up into a ball and go back to sleep she knew that it was highly impossible now better get back to finishing what she was doing. Closing the larger spiral notebook in front of her that she used to keep notes and tabs on just about everything she heard on the radio including call names and the like. She looked at the barely put together room she was slowly building into her comm room as well as a place to meet something which she sure everyone would enjoy though the colorful posters on the wall spoke of different things.
Seemed the classroom was once used for a science class though before the fall it was nothing more than a storage classroom with it's décor untouched by everyone. Boxes stacked on desk to the ceiling with all sorts of supplies within them as she had been slowly discovering over the last week she had been here with this group of people. Picking up the cast iron skillet from the floor she put it on the desk for the time being before she stood and looked over the amount of boxes left to move and or dismantle as she had been sorting them and putting them into the cabinets that surrounded nearly the entire classroom. After a few boxes were moved to stand around her desk so she could unpack them and store them so they could have more space though one certain box seemed heavier than she could handle sighing she tried the one next to it with the same result. Sighing in a huff she stared at the boxes in a very disapproving stance with her hands on her hips looking just like a mother punishing her child though it really wasn't that way was it? Rolling her eyes and smirking lightly at the thought in a bittersweet way she decided to pause for the moment to find help or possibly just converse if anyone was awake which as she walked the halls towards the sleeping quarters she felt so very alone. It was times like these that she hated to be awake because in her sleep she did not have to worry about feeling alone as Drake was always on her mind though it was worse when she was awake caused she wished for him to be there.
Damn the dead , if it wasn't for them she wouldn't feel alone and she wouldn't be worrying about if her love was alive or not because god she hoped he was as life wasn't worth living without him so she kept her hopes up as what else could she do but wait. Sighing and shaking her head she pushed him to the back of her mind for the moment as she could do nothing for him now just hope and pray, no matter how horrible she was at it, instead she put a smile on and kept walking. Pausing at the door frame just before the opening she heard a voice it seemed to be to that boy she met a couple days ago he seemed nice enough and she adored his little brother then again kids were a soft spot of her's. At the moment she could not remember their names well not the older boy's she remembered the younger one's probably because he was too much of an adorable face not to remember. Quin was the younger one's name and peeking in tentively she could tell that he was asleep and the older one, Rainer was his name she thought, was awake but looking like he needed sleep both people did. As Lindsay seemed to be awake as well, the crazy woman, biting her lip lightly she thought over her appearance in this conversation before coming to the conclusion she did need the help. Inching forward into the door way she leaned against the frame smiling lightly at the sleeping forms in the room as well as the two awake ones which she addressed calmly " He is right you do need sleep, Lindsay. So do you Rainer, but if you would be so kind and help me in lifting a few boxes that are a bit heavy for me I would be so grateful to you. I promise to won't take long then you can go to bed because I'm pretty sure you need it after last night's watch."
At which she smiled lightly at yes she had been here for only a week but she was observant and organized she knew the inner workings of their system within the first two days it was just how she worked. Arching an eyebrow at him playfully she awaited for a response from either but more from Rainer as he was the one she was asking something of though her tone was soft enough for them to hear but not loud enough to really bother any of the other sleeping forms in the room. She was just a bit too kind not to think of just about everyone else in the room outside of herself even though she was hurting on the inside she grinned and bared it as everyone in this world was learning to do.Armed to the Teeth, and then Some On the Wings of a Butterfly: Comm room to Sleeping quarters Within the sea: God, I wish Drake was here Stepping on thin ice: Sleepy, in emotional turmoil really People living, breathing, people: No one, now Lindsay and Rainer It's just a scratch: Perfect In that Organized chaos: Not much at the moment most at my station Written on my heart: well I hope this will get things moving

 It wasn't long before Lindsay had began to wax her bow. Unstringing it, she lay the thick strand across her thin pillow and pulled a small canister from her pack tucked neatly under her bed and with the small piece of fabric that accompanied it, she began to give the wood a healthy coat of the, strong smelling substance. The wax wasn't only to give the bow a shine, but it kept water from getting into the grains of the wood and damaging her weapon. It wasn't as though she had an unlimited supply of bows. They needed to take care of their weapons. Lindsay tensed when Ryker lifted his head to investigate the sound of footsteps in the hall. The lack of bark or growl informed her it was one of their own and she allowed herself to take a deep and calming breath.
Lindsay glanced at the approaching form out of the corner of her eye. Short blonde hair. Rainer. Lindsay put her bow down and smiled at his comment. They were a couple of the newest additions to the group but Rainer had proved to be a reliable man. Not only that but he had Quin, someone to fight for and stay alive for. The young boy was surprisingly amusing and energetic. Ryker certainly seemed to like him and the Irish wolf hound was an excellent judge of character. Before Lindsay had the chance to say anything, a voice came from the doorway. Rowan stood in the threshold, leaning lightly against the metal frame. "What's sleep?" She said playfully with a mischievous glint in her eye. She shook her head quickly and stood, "I had plenty of sleep. I wasn't the one up all night on watch."Lindsay strung her bow and hung it on her shoulder. She clicked her tongue and Ryker hopped to his feet, tail wagging furiously. She idly scratched behind his ear."Rainer, get some sleep. You won't be on night watch tonight, but I'll need you for late night scavenging. Rowan, I'll help you with the boxes, afterwards I'd like you to take a quick count of our rations in the cafeteria." Lindsay stepped past Rowan and out into the hall. The sun was on the horizon now, bathing the school in a golden glow. In roughly twelve hours, she would be heading out into the city. The school wasn't the most fortified place in the world. Large areas of the fence were loose and she didn't want to chance a group of the undead toppling the fence over. If they went to the warehouse, they could find extra lumber and tools to use with those that they found in the woodworking shop to reinforce the fence. Then maybe the children could play outside again, and they would have a large field they could use to grow food, though it was a little late in the year to start crops, they wouldn't be ready to harvest before fall and winter but if they were to stay there in the long term, it would be worth the effort. Lindsay looked over her shoulder, waiting for Rowan, all the while trying to keep her mind out of the long term. There was no guarantee they would be there for a substantial amount of time, but she hoped they could. It was as good a place as any.Friend or foe {Sleeping Friendlies} The compass points North {Residential Room} Just a scratch {In Good Health} Faithful Companions {Trust Bow and Good Friend Ryker} Twang of the bowstring {Left it open for anyone to jump in}

  Rainer groaned lightly, a hint of sarcasm letting the listener know that he was teasing, when Rowan appeared. She wasn't a bad person, hell she'd been down right sweet to them since the brothers had arrived at the camp. Dark haired with gentle eyes and a sweet smile...no he wasn't crushing on her but he was sixteen. It was nice to be around pretty girls. Hell Lindsay was wonderful to look at too but she was the boss lady and well he was certain she was well over his age. Rowan on the other hand....wait....why was he thinking about this again? Man he must be tired if he was sitting here about to compare the looks of the ladies in the group with his brother sitting right next to him asleep. Rubbing the bridge of his nose and failing to stifle a yawn, Rainer started to get up again when Lindsay spoke. Night scavenging? In an instant Rainer found himself far more alert then he should have at the idea. Did that mean what he thought it did? For Rainer there was two types of night scavenging though he wasn't sure Lindsay realized this with him, after all he hadn't been there long enough to confide in anyone what he did. It felt like lifetimes ago since he had last gone out leaving part of him thrilled at the concept and challenge of doing so. The other part of him felt sick if push came to shove and he wasn't really scavenging... Rainer's attention diverted for a moment as Lindsay moved ot the door, Ryker at her heels, and headed into the hall. "Aye, Aye captaino." He started with a light salute as he settled further against the wall he was leaning on. Turning his attention to the brunette in the doorway he smile lightly, the expression tired. "Since you're getting the boss lady's help, might as well put her to work, right? Don't hesitate to grab Quin if you need help counting though Row, little brat loves to help." Reaching to the sleeping form beside him, Rainer straightened the forming cocoon of blankets the boy was wrapped in. Seriously where did he get them? As the two started to leave Rainer went about his normal routine. Settling his weapons close to where he slept the teen rolled out his sleeping bag, something he had gained from those night scavenges before he joined the group. As he slipped off his shoes and set them aside Rainer found his mind wandering again to what Lindsay said. The more he thought about the more he was certain she meant literally what she had said and not where his mind went. Was he so eager to go do that kind of thing again that he was hopeful towards her words? If he was then why did the guilt stab at his heart at the thought? Groaning lightly Rainer tried to shove the thoughts from his head as he stripped his hoodie off. Folding the cloth up he piled it at the head of his sleeping bag and started to climb in. Sitting there a moment or two longer Rainer fingers the dog tags that hung around his neck. Probably, more then likely at least, Lindsay had meant the normal kind of scavenging. She didn't seem like the type to condone going out and damning other survivors to death. Definitely not the type to suggest he go out and end up honestly killing the folks right then and there....a sleepy purr sounded next to him, startling the blond out of his thoughts. He smiled lightly at the ruffled cat that now stood at his knee. Scruffy was aptly named as the feline had nothing but thick dark fur that liked to stick up on up it's own accord. "What cat? Hm? Thought you liked the kid more then me?" Rainer asked as he plucked the cat up and starting petting the small thing. Blankets shifted next to him and the only voice left alive in the world that could calm his nerves whispered out into the room. "Rain?" Soft, barely even heard by the man sitting right next to the child, Quinton yawned lightly as he started to wake. "Right here kiddo. Go back to sleep. It's not quite time to wake up." There was a tenderness in the blond's voice when he spoke to his younger brother. It never bothered him when Quinton called him by his actual name though he tried so hard not to go by it anymore. Big grey blue eyes blinked owlishly at him from under the blankets pulling a chuckle from the teen. Sliding fully into his bag, the teen shifted to face his brother a smile on his face as the feline he had been holding mewled lightly in protest. "Did ya have any problems outside?" Quin asked sleepily through a yawn. "Not a one. No zoms, no strange people, and still no clowns." The last one got a soft giggle from the younger blond as he stretched a hand out to his brother. Grasping it lightly, Rainer gave it a squeeze but didn't let go. "Go on Quin, back to sleep. Miss Rowan is going to need you help later so you'll need rest. I"m right here, so is Scruffs." Not needing to be told again the smaller one drifted off to sleep again. Rainer laid awake for a bit longer, listening to the soft sounds of the base waking up. In place of cars growling by, of horns and shouts and laughter, there was careful footsteps, reloading guns and as always the ever present moans of the undead at their door. Order, something she was very used to mostly being around her family and well Drake was neat for the most part for a military man though there were many times where her own order was introduced. Being neat and having everything perfect was just how the golden brown haired woman worked she liked it that way which is honestly part of the reason why she likes Lindsey. The way she handled just about any situation without breaking much of a sweat sometimes Rowan wished she could be that way then she remembered she had similar traits she just wasn’t the type of girl to keep completely calm when death was involved. Rowan was no hunter she was more of an actor or singer despite having a keen knowledge of her way around a gun but that just comes from the people she knows as they found it a good thing for her to know how to at least shoot a gun properly even if she disliked them. Such happy memories came along with those thoughts of order and the times of learning to wield a gun it nearly brought tears to her eyes. The hot tears slow rolled down her face which she quickly brushed away this was not a time to get sappy even more so in front of them she did not want to be a burden, one that she already felt like, taking a quick deep breath she composed herself. God it was times like these she really missed having Drake within arm’s reach because when he held her it made her feel like she was far away from everything that could every possibly hurt her. Bringing herself back to the conversation she smiled lightly at Lindsey’s joking words about what sleep was which around here sleep came in odd patterns and no one cared much to keep it straight though that did not mean Rowan wasn’t trying.
Watching the scene play out, she glanced over at the sleeping form of the youngest in the room smiling softly in a motherly way as she studied him ever so lightly. As Lindsey moved pass her the golden brown haired woman was brought back to the present not thinking about the what ifs and could’ve happened she was about to follow her back out nodding when Lindsey spoke only to pause before leaving the door frame as Rainer spoke. Smiling beautifully at his words she laughed a little in a soft tone ” You can count on that, I’ll come snag him once we’re done I could use some extra fingers to count on.” She said this quite happily and in a very joking manner before moving off into the hallway ignoring the light tap of the machete at her waist bother her in any manner as she walked beside Lindsey and her hound. Walking beside instead of taking the lead gave her time to think though there was not much she could ponder upon without being reminded that she did not have the one person she truly desired near her at this very moment. The silence in the hallway as they walked kind of unsettled Rowan but from a girl used to large amounts of talking quiet wasn’t her preferred setting in reality then again Drake was good at being silent when he wanted to. Gosh darn it she couldn’t think for one moment about anything without her thinking about him again and oh there are the tears again could she never win when it came to remaining happy about anything? Wiping the tears away as is she just had something in her eyes she took another deep breath before breaking the silence between the two of them “ I’m sorry, I normally don’t tear up this much must have gotten something in my eye from messing with the boxes its nothing you need to worry about.”
She said trying to bring back the happy chirper nature that she was fighting with since she woke up suddenly not too long ago but she figured if Lindsey was going to worry then there wasn’t much she could do. Instead she kept moving heading into her office space that was slowly looking more like a coms office and less like an old science classroom that just brought back more memories of times that may never come back. Standing next to the boxes she had found too heavy to lift alone she put a slender hand on top of the two of them before looking over at Lindsey when she came into the room. ” I just need help with these two they seem heavier than they look and well I’m not as strong as I wish I was sometimes.” She said with a light play ring to her words and she smiled brightly all the while hiding the pain that was scarring just beneath her skin as she always did with everything in life she hid her worries and pain underneath that smile of hers. Hoping no one would could ever see the wounded little girl that was hidden just beneath the strong mask she wore from the moment she was told that she did not have a daddy. Rowan never said she had an easy life nor did she want everyone to know that she really was just someone who needed the attention of others because she was unsure what to do without it. Armed to the Teeth, and then Some On the Wings of a Butterfly: Sleeping quarters to Comm Room Within the sea: I really need to stop thinking about him Stepping on thin ice: Sleepy, in emotional turmoil really People living, breathing, people: Lindsay and Rainer, now just Lindsey It's just a scratch: Perfect In that Organized chaos: Not much at the moment most at my station Written on my heart: Sorry for the wait and the smallish post I need to get back into but I hope this gets moving again <3

 The route to the comm room was not exactly long, but it was enough of a journey for Lindsay's mind to wander. She thought about all the alien invasion movies and shows she had been made to watch when she was younger. Her father had been a real fan of nearly any sci-fi themed program and in the interest of spending time with him, she would sit on the couch every friday night and watch show after show with him. Then as though space exploration did not matter, they would venture into the woods on the weekends and bask in mother nature. In the movies, people often got caught out in the open, swarmed by enemies or backed into corners of a house or apartment building. It was why Lindsay liked the school. Many of the science rooms had been turned into sleeping quarters and the spare door at the back of each classroom that lead to the one adjacent to it, made for a reliable escape should the undead get in. Not that it would happen anytime soon, if ever, as all the doors were firmly locked with several bike chains and rope.
Lindsay turned her attention to Rowan when she reached to wipe at her eyes. The blonde narrowed her eyes in disbelief of the small explanation of dust from the boxes that was provided though she stayed quiet. The group knew she was available should anyone need someone to talk to. That, however, did not stop Lindsay from wondering what had brought about the tears.
When they reached the comm room, Lindsay followed Rowan to the boxes that needed to be moved. "My father used to tell me that strength was in the mind." Lindsay said slowly and then cracked a smile, "But then again, no one has ever moved boxes with their minds." Linday grabbed the opposite end of the box and lifted it from its resting place. With direction from Rowan, they maneuvered it into place and repeated the process with the second box. Lindsay leaned against a table and watched Rowan with a half interested look.
"Rowan, if you wouldn't mind, I'd like help later to organize what little munitions we have. I want everything accounted for so we can avoid waste." They would be taking some of those supplies when they went out that night. The ever approaching scavenging was beginning to set Lindsay on edge though she would never show it. There was always risk when leaving the safety of the school, but they needed supplies to fortify their position as much as they could, there was only so much wood and nails stored in the woodshop mezzanines. Friend or foe {Rowan} The compass points North {Comm Room} Just a scratch {In Good Health} Faithful Companions {Trusty Bow and Good Friend Ryker} Twang of the bowstring {N/A}
