Efflo got kicked out of Gabby's room the night before prom. It was very important, for reasons. So when the night came, Gabby showed up in the undead dorms, a little lost since he hadn't come this way in a while. He found Efflo's dorm eventually, and knocked on the door. For his part, he'd dressed smartly, his white suit crisp and impeccable. Since it was white, he held the obnoxiously giant bouquet he'd gotten at least a few inches away from him, because they were very colorful, and very dangerous to a white suit. He held them out, practicing how he was going to give them to his boilfriend. Then he felt like a complete a** and decided to hide them behind his back instead. Just a few inches away from his suit.

As per usual, Efflo wasn't ready. His belt was missing the loops of his pants, his shirt was buttoned all wrong and he hadn't even began to try to tackle the tie. He glared at it, sitting on top of his dresser next to his vest and jacket. Enemies, all of them! Excited though he was for the night ahead, the pony boil would be very happy when he could return to his 2 item or less repertoire. The knock on the door had him scrambling, and he called out hastily, "Just a minute!" A quick glance at himself, and Efflo decided the situation was hopeless, and he nixed the wait a minute, and trudged to the door defeatedly. He swung it open, looking bedraggled. This was not the dashing gentleman he'd wanted to present to his boilfriend on prom night, but he didn't really have a choice. "Help," he whined, clinging onto the dragon dramatically, sniffling. He sniffed again, having caught a whiff of something sweet, something that smelled almost... Well, tasty. He took a step back, looking Gabby up and down. "What do you have? What are you hiding? Is it for me?"

Gabby burst out laughing when Efflo opened the door, because he was literally the worst boilfriend ever. He covered his mouth with his free hand, and cleared his throat, settling himself down. "Well. Don't you look-" He couldn't even finish the sentence. "All right, all right. I'll help you. That's what I'm here for, after all." He gently pulled Efflo away, because perfection did not appreciate being clung to, and moved in to close the door behind him. "Yes, it's for you." He murmured quietly, pulling the flowers out and handing them over. He had no idea what Efflo would do to them, but he wanted to bring the boil something beautiful. "They're tigerlilies. I think. That's what the clerk said. And we're going where the theme is.. well.. tigers made sense. Okay?" His words came out a little rushed, a little breathy. A little anxious.

Efflo was too curious to bother being offended at being laughed at, or pushed away. Gabby would have a difficult time pushing him away anyway, as the boil was nosily trying to peer at what Gabby had in his hands, leaning against the dragon’s hold. When he finally unveiled them, Efflo’s eyes went wide. The bouquet was incredibly huge! He stared at Gabby past the flowers, looking a little teary, and very, very grateful. “I… Gabby…” he breathed, dipping his face in to take in the flowers’ delicious aroma. “They’re absolutely perfect, thank-you, I love you.” He ignored Gabby’s earlier protests, flinging his arms around him affectionately. He refused to move, hugging the dragon while he eyed the flowers over Gabby’s shoulder. They really were perfect, he thought, as he leaned up, practically climbing up Gabby, to bite off one of the flowers. His eyes closed in utter bliss as he happily chomped away; he had the best boilfriend.

And the payoff was just as sweet as Efflo was. Gabby smiled; a small, but genuine thing, and took the boil into his arms this time, disregarding the state of his clothing just this once. He pressed a kiss to Efflo's temple, even as he bit down on a flower. "I'm glad you like them, baby. I didn't know if this was something you'd .. did you just.. eat that flower." Zero to deadpan in less than five seconds.

Efflo froze in Gabby's arms, and tried to swallow the rest of the flower as quietly as possible. "...No?"

Gabby pulled him away just enough to look at him, and reached out, brushing his fingers with deceptive gentleness against his lips. They barely touched the skin, running down the length, until they reached the corner of his lips. Then he bent in, and laid a kiss on the corner of those lips. A soft, chaste kiss. When he pulled back again, there was a leaf between his teeth, and one single brow rose slowly.

He watched Gabby carefully, bright green eyes unsure of what to make of the dragon’s silence. A cool finger ghosted over his lips, and when it was followed by a kiss, Efflo sighed, relaxing. Flowers were sweet, but Gabby was sweeter.
Maybe. Staring at Gabby’s expression, and the leaf held in his mouth, Efflo couldn’t help but snicker. “Maybe you ate the flower,” he giggled, before dancing away from Gabby’s grasp with the bouquet in hand.
“I really do love them," he grinned impishly, before popping another one into his mouth.

"You love the." Gabby whispered, his voice remaining even and calm. "And yet you're eating them. I'm confused. I thought I was supposed to bring flowers to my date for him to put in some water and keep for a while.. not chow down." He wasn't mad; in fact, Gabby looked legitimately lost. "I spent a lot of money on these.. if I wanted to bring you a snack, I don't think I would have bought these flowers." He bent his head into the bouquet, and slowly, carefully, nibble/sucked on a petal... "Ew, what-" He spit the petal out and made a face. "Gross, Efflo. It's like eating a salad."

“Why would I put them in water? Did you want me to grow more? Aren’t plants for eating?” Efflo looked just as genuinely confused, and couldn’t help but chew another flower to ease his stress. Then he felt worse… Gabby didn’t sound mad, but he had said they were expensive. Gabby obviously thought they were special, and Efflo did too, but what was the point of having delicious treats around if you couldn’t eat them? He just didn’t understand. Then Gabby spit out the leaf with a grimace, and things started to fall into place. He stared at Gabby, pulling the flowers away from the carnivore. “Gabriel, what do you think I eat?” But he understood now, or at least he thought he did, so Efflo turned and gently placed the flowers in the water bucket hanging on the wall near his bed. It was clean water, since he really had no need to drink from it; its presence in the room was more a comfort thing than anything else. He had to admit they looked quite nice, and they certainly brightened his drab room. Still, he felt they would have felt more at home in his stomach, but Gabby had gone to the trouble of getting him such a lovely gift, and he was going to treasure it properly. Turning back to Gabby, he sighed, glancing at the half-eaten petal on the floor. “Better now?”

Gabby's entire expression shrunk into awkward shame when Efflo asked him the question. He hadn't ever taken his boilfriend out for dinner, or done.. too many things outside of his room. The last time they'd eaten, it had been... Popcorn."Well.. I didn't.. the clerk said they go in a.. nngggh." Gabby rubbed his eye with a fist, and shrugged. "You can eat them, if you want. I didn't know, okay." He scuffed one of his shoes on the floor, staring down at them. "I mean they're yours, you can do whatever you want. Just, blech." He could still taste it in his mouth. "Have you even tried meat?"

"Meat?" Efflo asked, looking incredulous. "Gabby, I'm meat! That would be like eating myself. Of course I've never tried it! I'm not going to try it either. Salad is just fine." But he smiled anyway, despite his tirade, shaking his head at the dragon. Gabby was an idiot sometimes. But he was his idiot and he loved him. Efflo stepped over to his boilfriend, leaning up to kiss him sweetly on the lips. "I'll eat the flowers when they start to wilt. They're too pretty to eat now. Thank you again, Gabriel, really."

What kind of logic was that?! "I was meat, once.. and I eat it all the time. It's delicious. You should at least try it, some time. It's not like I'm asking you to eat horse meat, you know. Just.. I don't know. A piece of bacon." That was an easy start. He felt relieved when Efflo decided not to eat them in front of him, or right away. That felt a lot easier to accept - after all, they wouldn't last long, anyway. "You're welcome." The dragon purred, turning him around to pull his belt off. "Now let's get you suited up correctly."

He nodded, stepping back and holding his arms out wide.
"Okay, work your magic!"
A second later.
"And I'm not eating bacon."

Gabby stepped forward and started sliding the belt through his buckles, rolling his eyes at the comment. "Stubborn." He growled. "You bite me enough. Why not bite a steak?" That logic made perfect sense, in his mind. He pulled the belt through, and started buckling it. There was a soothing sort of comfort in dressing his boilfriend, and being put in charge of making sure he looked perfect. He finished attaching the buckle, and reached up with one hand, plucking the boils chin until Efflo came forward enough to leave a tender, lingering kiss on his lips. He licked his own lips, savoring the way they tasted. "You sure are missing out."
