Prisoner Number: None. Kaida never was a prisoner. He was originally a guard at DW that got reassigned because of his combat training.
Character Name: Kaida Matsuki
Gender: Male
Date of Birth: October 7th
Age: 19
Charges: None
Death row status: No
Cell mate: (Will be assigned)
Worm Eater Weapon: A large broadsword he carries around on his back. He gave it the name "Kreuz Klinge" (German for Cross Blade. Kaida likes German names)
Physical traits: Kaida isn't very tall or imposing, however he does have great swordsmanship skill and is physically strong. Even without his Worm Eater he's capable of putting up a decent fight against a Deadman prisoner (depending on their abilities) when he fights unarmed against a Deadman his fighting style depends on the situation. He typically focuses on dodging and evading their attacks until they end up tiring themselves out or run low on blood, then he goes in for actual attacks.
Personality: Kaida does his best to avoid doing anything. He sees work as an obligation in life and if it wasn't necessary to live then he would have completely done nothing long ago. When Kaida was younger he was a much brighter and happier person and expressed himself and how he felt. But after he lost someone close to him that side of him died and he stopped moving forward and chose to live with the focus of waiting until he died. (He doesn't want to kill himself, but he doesn't want to live without her)
History: Kaida was born in Tokyo where he lived with his parents; he had no brothers or sisters and spent most of his time alone, which contributed to making him avoid speaking to people. When Kaida was seven his parents were caught in a house fire and died, which tore Kaida up greatly. He ended up being set up to Northern Japan, to his only other family, being his grandparents. Although they welcomed him in and did their best to make him feel at home, Kaida was empty inside. He barely spoke, barely ate; just sat around up in the attic (they made it a room for him), waiting. It wasn't until a month into him living there that things changed. A new family moved in near his grandparents house, and they had a young girl who was around Kaida's age, her name being Torako. Kaida's grandparents befriended her parents, and eventually it got to the point where they trusted them to look after their daughter while they were away at work. Torako wondered around the home until she stumbled upon Kaida who was sitting in his room, on the floor with his back to the wall and his knees to his chest. Torako was happy seeing another kid there and called out to Kaida, which really startled Kaida who didn't notice her come in; his face being red upon realizing that it was a girl. Torako asked him why he was sitting around doing nothing, and he replied in a quiet tone "Waiting." Torako gave him a confused look, speaking loudly. "That's no fun!" She wanted them to go out and play, but Kaida kept refusing. It wasn't until a month later that Torako was able to get him to findly leave his room. That lead to the two of them developing a very strong friendship. Torako was the one who taught Kaida to speak up for himself and tell others how he felt, and to enjoy life again. They both developed a strong love for each other.
However when Kaida was fifteen years old Torako died during a house invasion when a burglar broke in and Torako spotted him and he killed her to try to stop her from exposing him. That single event destroyed Kaida's life as well. She was the only friend he's ever had; his heart longed for her and thinking about her being gone broke his heart. After her death he no longer wanted to live in a world without her, she was everything to him. So he went back to his old ways and waited and kept waiting for the day he will die. He stayed like that for a few years until he was 17 and the mans trial finally happened in which the man was found innocent. That right there sparked a great sense of rage in Kaida as he began fighting and working endlessly to become as strong as possible, wanting to make sure this never happens to anyone again. The day he turned 18, the same day Torako died (she died on his b-day) Kaida successfully tracked the man down and killed him; they were unable to trace his death back to Kaida, so him murdering the man is something only he knows he did. While growing up Kaida was taught swordsmanship and how to fight by his grandfather. After the mans death Kaida felt that that was the last thing he had left to do in life and decided to go back to waiting. However by the time he turned 19 he ended up being kicked out of home by his grandparents, fed up with him not doing anything at all, not even having a job or helping with anything around the house, and just laid around all day, every day. (His grandparents really kicked him out so he would have to live again). Kaida lived as a bum, living on the streets for awhile, however eventually that became too uncomfortable even for him, and he decided it might be time to get a job. At the time there were several available positions in Deadman Wonderland, them being meaningless tasks like being a custodian. Kaida spent some time working as a custodian however after one of the guards resigned their position Kaida applied for that position, tired of mopping floors and etc. and got the job thanks to his physical strength. Kaida worked there for roughly a year until shortly after he turned 19 the promoter saw him as someone strong that could be of use for the underside of Deadman Wonderland, and offered Kaida a job, passing it off as a promotion, but actually signed Kaida up as a new Undertaker. It wasn't until after he accepted the job and signed a contract that Kaida was briefed on what a Undertaker is, and that was when he wished he told the promoter No.
