The antisocial cat and the socially awkward rocker. Two out of the ordinary characters, but how exactly did they meet up? Well, my friends, it all began on your average day, but not so average to the Rocker: After all, this was her first day at Virtua, and America.

Moira walked down the street, hand in her pockets, head low, and a guitar at her back- the weapon she'd been programmed with. She seemed to have spawned in a rougher part of the digital city, and she was highly on her guard. In her mouth, a lit cigarette burned, the lighter tucked safely inside her pocket. She was ready to fight, if need be, her hands practically itching for a brawl. She'd heard that she'd be given special powers, and that her own personal skills would be heightened inside the program. Needless the say, she was eager to give it a shot. Not only eager, but maybe even a bit desperate, just to get it out of her system. The stress involved in getting to America was enough to make her lust for a duel of some kind, but she wasn't one to pick a fight. If she was lucky, some punk would be dumb enough to try and piss her off.

Jayce Wilder (Jay Cross): Admin in Disguise

Jayce would have been taking a nap about now, as this god awful cat programming wanted him to do (he really regretted it but at least he could hide the cat features while he wasn't fighting), but something... strange had happened to his code. It seemed that someone accidentally tampered with it during the launch. It seemed that a small batch of NPCs had gone rogue, and that was not a good thing at all. He was currently running on all fours across the building tops, and communicating with his strategist/programming friend Alex. "So all I have to do is just rough em up, and you can handle the binary transfer from there right?" Getting the confirmation from his friend, he kept going. Technically, launch date wasn't until the sun rose, so he still had time to fix this before the public eye got wind of it. Hopefully, he would find them soon and get rid of these nuisances.

... But this is a dream come true for me."

As Moira turned a corner, she found herself bumping into a small group of boys. Their movements were jerky and abrupt, twitching and glitching every few seconds. "Wot do'ya wont?" she asked dully, her voice quiet. Maybe this was what she'd been hoping for? One of them just reply by reaching out, quick as a flash, and grabbing her by the neck. She gasped and struggled, gagging a bit at the force behind the blow. With one hand, she retrieved her guitar from her back and slammed it into the boy's body, loosening his grip enough for her to jump back and poise the instrument in her hands to begin struggling. "You're gonna wish you 'adn't done that," she mumbled with a small smirk igniting on her face as she plucked a long, low chord, sending a plethora of sonic blasts at them, ricocheting off the walls only to gain more power as they passed through the group of men. She then jogged forward, aiming a well-placed falcon kick to the jaw of the one who'd grabbed her. In a series of swift, flowing kicks and swings of her guitar, three out of four of them were on the ground, the other heading for the hills. "I don't think so," she snickered, tossing her guitar forward as it pivoted in a circular motion, just to hit the guy in the back of the spine and knock him out as well. Once they were all down, she stooped to pick up her guitar, and noticed something odd about the last player she'd hit: wires and bits of machinery stuck out from the scraped parts of his body where she'd hit. "... Robots?" she asked herself, puzzled and uncertain.

Jayce Wilder (Jay Cross): Admin Awakened

Jayce was about to warp out to the next area when he heard the sound of confrontation nearby. He immediately entered combat mode, and began going towards said noise, and that's when he found the girl surrounded by the glitchy NPCs. They were knocked out, but seeing as they don't really have a parameter for pain and unconsciousness, the system would have them rebooted in no time at all. And sure enough, as soon as he guard was down, the glitches once again began to stand up and prepare to assault the random stranger. To this day, Jayce does not remember how he got down from that building. All he remembers is a roar and a slam, and the next thing he knew, he was putting his outer jacket around the girl, thinking that they were attempting to do something much worse to her than fight, seeing as she lacked a shirt. His punishment was quick, and merciless, tooth and nail ripping up circuits and binary. He made it so that his companion over the wire had just enough time to erase them before they repaired themselves. "Nice work.gif" He grunted to his teammate, who was boasting about how cool he was and how he was the better programmer. Jayce tuned him out. "You alright? What the heck are you doing out here?" He shook his head realizing that she just took on four of these guys by herself. "Forgive my manners.jpeg. Who are you if I may ask?"

Moira quickly got to her feet when she heard the roar, her guitar at the ready, but before she could strike, the robots were out again, and a jacket was draped around her shoulders. She glanced down at the cloth, looking a bit confused, then glanced back up at the boy who'd come to help. She was startled by his rather feline appearance, but realize she shouldn't be after what she'd just done. "Yes, I'm fine," she said back plainly, dusting herself off and getting her lighter and a new cigarette from her pocket, as her last one had fallen out of her mouth during the brawl. Once it was lit, she held it between her lips and replaced the lighter in her pocket, and eyebrow raised in the boy's direction. "I'm 'ere because this is where I spawned, or whatevah. My name's Moira Ashe... I guess we're the only player 'ere, eh? 'Aven't seen anyone around, and I've been walking for ages." She paused, shifting her weight onto her hip as she replaced her guitar at her back, crossing her arms. "So, wot was all that about? Programming gone amiss?"

Jayce waited for his own code to fix itself and allow him to revert back to human before he spoke again. He noticed that the jacket draped around her shoulders did not fade with the rest of it, so he guessed that the objects had to be on him to decode. Interesting fact for today; he decided to remember that for later. "You spawned here? That's odd.exe." He could hear Alex begin to fix the spawn locations for the other 75% of the people who haven't logged in. They figured doing it in batches would be easier than everyone logging in at once, this allowed them to avoid the initial server lag that would have happened had they gone with the latter route. "I'm Jayce and that's all you need to know right now, except that you are the only Player in this area." He walked past her and towards the main area where everyone else was logging in. "We haven't installed the fast travel warper things for the Players yet, so I'll walk you to the initial spawn point... Where you WERE supposed to spawn.doc" He walked without looking back to make sure she was fine, because she certainly seemed that way to him. And as soon as she got out of his fur- HAIR- the faster he could get back to work.

Moira raised an eyebrow at his whole mysterious act, following behind him a few feet back. "All I need to know, huh? Alright. You seem like you know wot you're doin." She rolled his eyes at almost all he said, taking off his jacket and tossing it at the back of his head as she puffed on her cigarette. "Figured you might wont that back," she explained gruffly, her head low. She wasn't good with meeting new people, in any way shape or form. "And by the way, no need to play the whole "babysittin' the damsel in distress," game 'ere. I can find my own way. I was doin' just fine before you came along." To prove her point, she sped up her pace and began to walk past him, her expression stone-like with the lit cigarette glowing in between her purple lips. "So, guess I'll see you around the school. Maybe not." She shrugged nonchalantly. "Either way, I'll be goin' now."

Jayce could hear something whizzing through the air and turned just in time to catch his jacket. As it decoded itself, he responded with, "It only works on my person in battle mode" while simultaneously grabbing her cigarette and stomping on it with his bare feet. "No smoking zone." He sighed as she tried to be headstrong and head towards the school, but that wasn't where she was supposed to be going to begin with. Initial spawn point ain't the school. In fact, only the outside the school is there right now. Initial spawn is out near the apartment skyscraper things. Which is down this way." He casually pointed down a pathway to his right and waited for her to turn around and follow him. Honestly, you think she would have gotten the hint with the secretness and the 'you are the only Player here' business. Either way, it was beneficial to him, as he could blend in with the crowd once they got to it, and escape from her.

Moira just rolled her eyes as the kid tried to act all cool. It honestly did irritate her quite a lot, like he had yet another of those "better than thou" attitudes. She'd gotten plenty of that back in London, and now even there in America? She sighed, but it turned to a growl as he took the cigarette. she mumbled gruffly under her breath, following in the direction he'd begun to lead her. She hated being guided around like a blind puppy; independence was important to her, and there she was following this stranger. Despite allowing him to lead her, she refused to walk behind him. Rather, she stood tall at his side, even standing an inch or two taller than him while at her full height. Usually she slouched comfortably, but now she felt like she had something to prove. Of course she didn't, though- not after kicking those droids asses.

Jayce continued walking. He had no need to really discuss anything with her. She was a Player, and he was an Admin. As far as he was concerned he didn't have to associate with them- What the meow did she just claw (CALL) him? "You know, if you are trying to say something subtle about someone, make sure it's someone who doesn't have super hearing." He turned to her then. She thought she was so... he didn't have a word to describe what she was being, but she was being something right now. Something negative. "I'm sorry you find me repulsive, but you're going to have to deal with it. Keeping my baby alive is more important than your opinion of me." He stroked the side of one of the buildings gently. "Hard to think that I made all this with a bunch of zeroes and ones, ya know? I slaved over all of this for a month, and I will be damned if it gets shut down before it truly comes online. So excuse me for not giving a damn about your dominance issues."

"Well, you don't care about my opinion of you," she said with a small smirk and a shrug, "and I couldn't care less wot you think'a me. So I guess we're even." She just snickered to herself at his behavior, turning her guitar around the pluck quietly at the strings. "You're not the only one who puts a s**t ton'a work into things, ya'know. Don't think I don't get 'ow it feels to be proud'a somethin', or to want to make sure it goes well. I'm 'uman too. We're all the same at the core, so no need to act all 'igh and mighty, like you're bettah then everyone 'ere." Now she frowned dully at him, her point being made clear. It was a rare occasion for her to speak her mind like this, so why was it happening at all? Maybe it was the music in her ears demanding her to open up and let her feelings out, and maybe it was something about this... cat-guy. Either way, what was done was done, and she'd said what she said. It was the honest truth too: she hated people on high horses, anyone who looked down on her for whatever reason.

Jayce laughed at he way she spoke. Not because of the accent, but because of the way the words she spoke contradicted their meaning. Here she was, saying she didn't care about what he thought of her and yet she was trying to change his opinion of her at the same time. "We aren't all the same, contrary to what most people think. Some have a penchant for some things, while others could not even begin to fathom how they work. I act high and mighty, because here in this city I am." He chuckled before continuing on. "Besides, if the tables were turned and this was about music or something similar, you would probably acting the same way I am right now." He climbed up the building to his right to get a good few of the city. Deciding the most efficient way to proceed, he climbed back down and made a left. "We're almost there so try to keep up." He continued walking when his partner spoke up over the comm link. "Why should I-?" He was cut off before he could finish. "According to my much more sociable friend, I was being rude. I apologize if I offended you. Not used to dealing with people my age quite yet." He did not face her when he spoke, mainly because that would make him look even stupider, so he just kept on leading her to where she needed to go.

She was about ready to take her super-charged guitar and blast a power chord right in his ears when he begrudgingly apologized. To her, it didn't mean much, since he'd both been told to do it, and didn't look at her when he said it. She rolled her eyes at this old routine, playing the nonchalant guy who was too cool, too "above her" to act like they were both human beings. Still, not wanting to waste her breath or energy on this knob any longer than she had to, she just shrugged it off with a small sigh. "You're friend is right," she commented plainly. "Anyway, no worries. Just be careful of your ego. It can be a dangerous thing, if not maintained." She paused again, wanting to stop there, but found one more thing she wanted to add. "It's fine to have pride in your work and stuff. I understand that, but it's also important not to get to the point that you think you're the greatest thing to grace the Earth because of it. Just some friendly advice."
