The security officer looks pissed as you approach. "I told you to exit the-"
- He spots your tag. "Oh. You guys." He eyes you. "Aren't you a little too young to be in that sort of-"
-The other officer puts a hand on first security officer's shoulder, shaking their head. "You have clearance. The case is all yours."
They move to one side.
You look around the scene of the crime. Everything is as you already explored. The casino is a little further away, one viable entrance into the main lobby where you stand. To the left are the boutique shops. There is no other person in sight.
Nothing else seems to have been tampered with and the body is quite fresh, though a four odour seems to be escaping it. It is a middle-aged man, wearing the greys of someone from the crew, or more in charge of perhaps the maintenance. His face is nondescript, your average Joe Smith, but he is notably wearing a very expensive watch. The rest of his face unfortunately is sporting and still lightly splurting a dark red. There is a hole in his head.
There are other things to be noted:
The scenery around the lobby however, hasn't changed the slightest. It definitely seems like suicide. OOC: OPEN INVESTIGATION gaia_crown Once again this is an OPTIONAL STORYLINE- There is however a possible reward at the end for those who want to pursue this mystery. It will be revealed when this part has been solved. - This is a TWO PART mystery murder. The first part is where you examine the culprit for clues, and once someone has obtained the right CLUE you will move to part two. - The first person to crack the correct answers for part 1 and then part 2 will receive a bonus +2 rp points for their efforts. They will be quoted. - In addition, all players all welcome to try. ALL PLAYERS. - Please do not overly tamper with the evidence. Doing so will get you escorted out for your unprofessional attitude. You may ask the security guards questions in BOLD RED. - You may also OBSERVE or LOOK AT THE EVIDENCE MORE IN DETAIL. Every time you do so, post in BOLD RED what you are observing/ looking at. You can only observe one thing at a time, or ask the guard one question at a time. - Each character is only allowed to take five actions max with the time they are allotted. That means you can ask two questions and prod at three pieces of evidence and then that's IT. Use them wisely. Remember a GM (me) will only address your questions/ prodding if your character posts what they are addressing in bold red or instance, Bob asks the guard "Why?" or Bob looks more closely at the victim's left hand, etc etc - Mark in OOC how many attempts your character has made - IC sharing of evidence is totally allowed. Feel free to speculate, and talk amongst each other. Good luck!

THERE WAS A MURDER. Not the crows gathering kind.
The mystery kind.
On on hand, Solia knew that she really probably should avoid murder mysteries given how the last one turned out but MYSTERIES!!!
Wrong cosplay or not, she would solve the case.
Or maybe get another letter burned onto her it was hard to say.

Looking at the scene of the crime, she had just one question. "Why are there so many pens? That is a bit excessive.. You only need one, and it's not like pens are hard to find on this swiggity swag ship. "

Lucky had a bad feeling about this.
Not the dead guy. This was not the first dead guy he'd seen, nor presumably the last, and if he mentally retreated a few steps he could almost feel like it was too surreal to actually be happening, and that was a safe place to be.
No, it was the question of if this was a murder, and if there was then a mystery surrounding it.
He didn't like murder mysteries as much these days.
"Vhat did he do as job here, on ship?" Lucky tentatively asked the guard, nervously wringing his fingers together in such a way as to carefully cover the notorious 'O' on his right hand.

"Never a dull moment around here...."
Cass approached the scene carefully, slowing from her half-jog to approach more casually. As young as she looked, she smiled when she was allowed access to the scene, nodding to Solia before crouching to look at the body curiously.
Dead bodies should have bothered her more, she noted mentally. When had that stopped being a problem to her? She wasn't sure, but she looked to the guard, then carefully took a closer look at the clean handkerchief.
There was a lot of blood everywhere but that handkerchief....

The security guard turns to Solia first with a confused expression. "Huh?" He scratches his head. "Beats me. Sometimes people collect them. You know, in case they run out?" It's not exactly a very intelligent reply and sounds like he is just guessing.
It takes a second longer for him to decipher Lucky's accent. "Eh," non-committal shrug, "some guy from engineering or something. They usually do rounds on the decks below. I'm not too familiar with their setup." He looks uncomfortable but doesn't say any more.

The handkerchief seems to have a note sticking inside it.

Gun shots on a cruise ship was weird, yes. Heidi was halfway through her ice cream when it happened, and someone running had knocked into her and made the cone fall from her hands onto the floor. Well...that sucked. She followed the group to the main lobby, just staring at the body at first. Holy crap. This was legit. She did what any teenager would do. pinchmonster Text to: Tuck Text from: Heidi Soooooooo a dude died...uh..there's a lot of blood. I didn't do it. Promise. Also I dropped my ice cream, I'm sad now. She wasn't really all that sad. Heidi stepped carefully around the other hunters and the blood, crouching down near the bloody hand. Heidi tried to get a better look at the hand and the handwriting.Quote: Character: Heidi Potter Cruise Alias: Ai Emawich

So he liked to collect pens huh? "But... why collect pens then write in blood that's just stupid. No wonder he's dead."
Solia. ITS TRUE! Doesn't make it nice to say.
Solia made a sad face. "Sorry. Oh, I'm-" She paused, trying to remember her fake name "-Estellise Sidos Heurassein. But you can call me Estelle. Who are you good sir, and how is it that as security, you don't seem to know the man, better yet, how is it that someone managed to get a gun on board?"

Carefully pulling the handkerchief out, Cass unfolded it to check the contents of the potential note inside the handkerchief.
"Please tell me this isn't a shopping list or something..." she murmured under her breath.

The affronted security guard looked at Solia again, as if finally putting together her age and her words. "How- what- aren't you guys supposed to be the ones solving this? If I knew how they got a gun on board then our boss wouldn't have hired you. That's why you're here right? Because our ship is cursed?" The handkerchief, when pulled out, revealed a note, and not just any note. An instruction manual that went like this:
".... proper handling of glassware with a microfiber cloth. Unfold the cloth at both points. Make sure when placing the cloth against the glass that it is even across the surface to remove all dust and fingerprints...."
It went on a bit like this for a while about proper cleaning instructions. At the end however was finally a:
"... for further information contact Crowne Industries and Co LLTD."

Cass almost just tossed the piece of paper aside before suddenly pausing, looking to the guard who was talking.
"Wait, did he just..." she looked at Lucky trying to catch his attention, then motioned to the paper in her hands, raising her brows a bit.
"Excuse me, could you tell me what Crowne Industries is?" she asked the security guard, trying to be nice about it.Astarael Cass wants to show Lucky something from her clues to see if it means anything to what the guard just said to him.

[ entering in ]
Ofelia managed to make her way to the crime scene with little effort - she just followed the opposite path of unhappy people and looked for faces that seemed familiar to her. It was an easy enough task and soon the sun hunter was there in all her "jacket over the front of my dress" glory. There was a dead body, apparent suicide by gun to the head, and people were already milling about and poking at clues. The redhead had come in just in time to hear Cass ask about "Crowne" something and she slowly shifted her way over towards the body to get a better look.
Kneeling over (and totally showing off that she'd indeed ripped the front of her dress something nice) Ofelia looked at the bloody card key with extreme interest before finally reaching down to lift it up gingerly for further examination. "Hnnn.....a card key. Ah wonder if this could open some doors down the line, or jus' how much clearance this guy had." Ofelia had unfortunately missed the part where they'd said his job and she looked to the other hunters. "Did they say what he did fer a livin' on this ship?"AstaraeI since lucky was the one who asked?

Cass showed him the manual.
"Didn't the guy say he was working in engineering or something? Why would he have cleaning instructions in his pocket?"
