The Crossing is on the outskirts of The Shard, the city is only a few miles away but counted as part of the included land. When anyone visits Occulas from the non-magic side of Earth, they end up here. The exact location is never the same, sometimes its in the ruins, others its above a spire or sometimes it can just be on the ground, amongst the grass. Two dragons protect this sacred land, as The Crossing is fabled and without it much disaster would unfold.
Whenever you want to leave Occulas, the dragons known as Virtue and Justice, or Evétuiléon and Uredéces, will first have to grant you access. Unlike the issue of entering during a crescent moon on the non-magic side, you may leave here whenever you want, but only with good intentions or the dragon's will disallow it.
The dragon's here can aid in specific and vague ways, and without respect from any visitor they can decide to ignore you, or worse. The Circle answers directly to Evétuiléon and Uredéces.

╬Ҝaruso Nega╬ There was buzzing, no... it sounded like static. He couldn't tell, everything was black, and then he said flashes of light and darkness, fire and green mirrors. Back to darkness he remembered screams and pleads, then thankful words as he remembered the sound of thousands of mirrors shattering. Then he opened his eyes. The ground was solid, cold to the touch and a bit dusty. It sounded as if he could hear running water, more like a waterfall nearby. Pushing himself up from the ground, Karuso brushed down his red attire, miraculous how when she had used him his clothes were never destroyed.
He was inside a dimly lit room, natural light spraying in through the gaping hole int eh thick stone wall beside him. He presumed there msut have been some sorta of window or metal bars there some time ago. He was then forced to his senses by the sound of birds, akin to seagulls flying by. He then remembered, something dear to him, his closest friend. Zien was with him in the madness, they both got taken together. Spinning around he was somewhat relieved to find Zien on the floor beside him, he was dazed just as he was.
Beside Zien was a stony staircase, he was lucky had hadn't fallen down it. All the stone here looked polished, so it was finished nicely, but it obviously hadn't been in use for some time. The staircase was small too, looked almost spiral. They must have been inside a tower for by the view out of the window he could only see sky and cliffs with the sound of running, crashing water and birds. He'd like tot think he was at the beach, but where?
First though, he had to check is Zien was okay. "Zien" he began. Reaching down to lend his friend a hand up. "you alright?"

"KARU!!!"
The youth elemental's cry rang out when he feared that he was going to loose Karuso again. Went running right at him, enveloping him in an embrace before everything went dark. The sensation of falling struck him and he felt his stomach in his throat. There was a distant rumble in the darkness, but there was flashes of venomous green and the sounds of many, many shattering mirrors and glass. Fearing it would cut into him, Zien shielded his head curled up a bit to protect his middle.
Nothing came though, no pain, not even a whisper of something moving against his exposed stomach from the torn material.
In his falling though Zien remembered, why he was there, and called into the darkness once more. "Karuso!!!"
Then drew mindless and numbing darkness took him and Zien knew nothing else.
- - - - -
First thing he was noticing as he roused, the ache all over his body; deep into the muscles and right down to his bones. So stiff, he feared moving would result in pain versus irritation and slow movements. Groaning in the back of his throat though, he listened to whatever else was around him.
The roar he had heard prier to waking up was louder and closer, a lot closer. But it wasn't threatening, no it was natural...like a waterfall, and rushing water, a very large waterfall. The cheery sounds of seagulls and the smell of damp earth filled his ears and nose. Zien felt the cool polished stone beneath his elemental hands that he lay on.
Laying on his side, Zien continued to try and decipher what was going on around him, when he heard shuffling of another body and heavy clothing. Then his name was being called, and not by just any body, not it was Karu calling him, and kneeling by him. Groaning again as she turned over onto his back, even lifting his eyelids felt like a chore. But he was glad to see the vampire's concerned handsome face.
"...gawd your face is a happy sight...I feel like I got ran over by a truck though...oooowwwwieeee," whined the young elemental but with lead filled limbs, it took the offered hand as Karu assisted him.
Looking around now though, he knew they were not in the same place they were. This was completely different though unfamiliar was a welcome sight compaired to the place they had been. Confused though, Zien frowned and furrowed his slim brows.
"Where the hell are we?"

When Zien replied to him, Karuso had to sigh in relief, knowing that he was atleast well enough to speak. At first Karuso wasn't sure if Zien was joking or not about his face, he was still getting used to concepts of speech in the modern day, Karuso was still rather... old fashioned. Better yet, however, the notion about where they were made KAruso think the same thing. Knowing Zien was up and able to stand, he quickly gazed out the window, his white hair falling over his shoulders as he leaned out so far it was worrying.
Fresh, almost salty air brushed passed his face, he gawped down to see a repeating pattern of shallow water covering everything, with smaller ponds or lakes that were deeper. Then to his left he saw the great waterfall. Looking closer at teh building side he realised he was indeed in a tower, there were others alike it too. "I've no idea where we are..." he said firstly, as he pulled himself back into the room and turned to Zien. "Hey..." he then said, bringing up a sensitive question.
"Do you believe... Lamia is dead? She must be something to do with this? Her entire realm was destroyed, but... you'd think we'd be taken back to the place we entered, don't you?"

Catching his barrings, and checking his standing capabilities, Zien used a near by wall. Though a bit dizzy at first, it passed quickly and soon the young elemental was joining Karu at the window. This place was not the same, very different, Karu not knowing where they were making him worry.
"This doesn't look anything like the island; we had no waterfalls," exclaimed the young man with his arms flailing, but whining as he felt his shoulder muscles protest. "Where's a hot-tub when you need one..."
Sighing and running a hand through his blonde and purple dyed hair, Zien turned to Karu as he called him. The dramatic pause made him worry about just what the vampire was going to bring up and the question he did, he scowled at it.
"She better be dead!" he snapped sharply, glaring at nothing as a few sparks went off in his hair and hands. "She has to be, we destroyed that realm of her's and anything in it. I remembering hearing her blood curtailing scream of pain...she's not dead, when I get my hands on her, Lamia will wish she was dead!"
It was a very sensitive topic for Zien. He had watched her kill Karu...it totally unhinged him and he couldn't bring himself to hope that his vampire was still alive. It would have hurt far too much and whatever sanity he had maintained would have been lost. Zien had cried himself to sleep many nights and he didn't want to revisit those days.
"We ripped that place apart, doesn't mean by doing so we got somewhere else right?"

It was a delicate subject, Karuso almost regretted bringing it up but Zien in his wrath did make some good points. Leaning back against the window ledge he sighed and said "Well... you're right there. Perhaps Lamia was yet more intelligent than we thought, she could have had more than one entrance" he regretted to admit that, it gave possibilities to her have escaped, but he refused to accept that, she had to be dead.
"But you're also right about the waterfalls... maybe we should go outside"
__________________________
Stepping out through the bottom there was only a small portion of land before the shallow water met the dirt and grass, the area was massive, and the top of each spire seemed heavily worn down with some very distinct claw marks. "We're definitely in a land with magic, can you feel it?" Karuso could sense the magic flowing through the area, it pulsed greatly with it. But they needed to find out where they were, they needed rest, firstly. Then there was a bellowing roar that soared through the sky, Karuso was started and stared upwards and around them, grabbing his rapier and with a flick of his wrist it turned into that giant sword he always used to use. "What was that?" he outwardly asked Zien, worried. It... it sounded like a Dragon. Then he heard a crash and peering up he saw a great, almost golden or brass coloured dragon perched on the spire, its wings flapping closed and wrapping around the spire. Soon, enough, another was perched on top of a different spire, both looking down at them with slender long necks.
Whatever they wanted, Karuso didn't like it, and he was not going to let anything happen to Zien, never again.
"You seem... confused, Mortal" one of the dragons said, did it really just speak to them?Karuso backed up towards Zien, protecting him as if they were in real danger, but the other Dragon replied with "Don't waste your time thinking of ways to slay us, Vampire, even you don't have enough years ahead of you to fathom it"

He didn't dwell on it. Thoughts of Lamia still alive, even if it was in some shape or form, he didn't want to think about it. She was sneaky, and in the back of his mind, Zien wouldn't have been surprised if she had a 'back entrance' and a general 'backup plan' if everything failed. The elemental though never outward said anything or focused on it, just avoided and denied.
"I'm all for outside...if I don't fall down the bloody stairs of doom..." he grumbled out following Karu's lead.
__________________
Without incident, Zien was making it to the ground floor, touching down on dirt and grass at last. Looking to the skies, looking to the scenery around them, none of it was at all familiar. Seeming more foreign now then when they were peering out the window. The building themselves, Zien didn't remember on the island, the claw marks...well...he'd seen stranger things.
Karu's questions drew him back into reality versus his thoughts, and Zien shrugged. "I don't know...you're the arcane user dude, I'm the elemental dude..." he said with large gestures and fasual expressions. "All I can say is that the air feels more 'charge', and I have no other way of explaining it-"
Whatever Zien may have continued to say was quickly cut off by a rather large and loud resounding roar. Bouncing off of the hills and the pires around them. Clearly Karuso didn't know anything about it as it started him as much as Zien.
"What the blazing hell was that!!?" he cried out, drawing closer to his protective vampire. "Whatever it was...it was huge..." there was a nervous whine present in the young elemental's tone.
Sword out, and searching the skies the both of them. Imagine his surprise when out of no where a dragon...as there is no mistaking a dragon for what it was, landed on one of the scaling towers. Zien cried out, whatever words he did manage to say unrecognizable as he stumbled back. Karu was quick to guard him, which he would later consider to be heartwarming. What only shocked Zien more was the fact that there were two and both could talk.
Stumbling back, it was none so surprising that the rather klutzy elemental tripped over a collection of rocks and ended up on his back staring up at the two scaly beasts, both beautiful and deadly.
"....I don't wanna get eaten Karu...please don't piss them off..." he pleaded in a whiny still shocked voice.

The dragon's were great and mighty, Karuso's few moments staring at them from so far down only gave their presence a sliver of their recognition. Still holding his large sword out with his right hand, he heard a thud and Zien and fallen with a small thud. Karuso quickly glimpsed back but didn't want to lose sight on the dragons, for all he knew, they could want to eat them... alive. And Zien was already on that notion. At this time Karuso backed up some more and pulled back his spare hand to help Zien up, all the time never letting hsi sight go on the giants with wings.
"You're lost, aren't you" one of the dragon's commented, it's long slender neck arching down to inspect them mroe closely. Karuso stared up and attempted to stay calm. "What is it to you?", but then the other Dragon flapped its golden wings and retorted "It is everything, to us" "Our business is ours and our own-" "your's and ours, Vampire." one dragon replied before Karuso could go on any further. "We are the dragons of Virtue and Justice, does that sound menacing to you?", Karuso didn't reply to the dragon, but the other winged beast did. "We guard the crossing between the worlds. And you, mortals, have never heard of us." "You've never heard of Magic Earth, have you?" Karuso gave them a confused look as his sword began to lower. The dragon named Virtue stared at the two of them, and suddenly his serpentine eyes seemed as though they were inches from their faces as he penetrated their minds. Karuso felt like a head ache was trying to get into his head instead of out, and soon enough Virtue was saying "This world is everything that your's, isn't. But your angst within tells me you've dealt with powers akin to our land" and after thta he left their minds, that was after imprinting a very slight bit of knowledge in the back of their minds. It was the knowledge that there were several cities, and each of their names scarred them too. But then the other dragon came in before they could even react, his eyes just like the ones before flashing before them and it said "We will help you this once, if you want to understand what has happened to you, i suggest you go to Shard City" and then there was an image of great white spires piercing the sky, a grand crater were a city sat and people in green robes, elves in cream, everything was calm before the image faded.
"Your virtue restored" "your judgement - innocent"
And then the dragons vanished, Karuso looked up but he couldn't see them, there wasn't even any evidence to tell him that the dragon's were here int eh first place. Then he began thinking he was going mad. "Zien" he began. Staring over to his companion. "Did two dragon's just pour pestilence into your mind too?" he was almost astonished, and his way of wording it was still somewhat... old fashioned. Karuso still had some catching up to do in the contemporary world.

The dragons didn't seem in a particular mood to eat something or find his skinny butt a decent meal. Either one being the case, Zien wasn't going to complain, however, didn't make any less at ease with them being around. Taking Karu's offered hand, he with no effort at all pulling him to his feet and tucking him close to his side.
The dragons said they were lost, was it that obvious? Zien would have said as much but Karu replied first. His words perhaps sounding a bit better then the elemental's. With everything going on, he was in a rather sarcastic mood, and he didn't think dragons would appreciate sarcasm right now. He was making a noticeable effort on his part to hold it back, but then the dragons mentioned guarding a crossing between worlds.
"Wait a minute...you're telling us, we're not even on the same planet anymore!? Some alter decisions or some sci-fi crap..." quiet put out at the knowledge, Zien never saw it coming when the dragons did their little mind it. However, it was not little as it left Zien groaning as he held his head. Telepathy or something like it, he never cared for it, though for the elemental it was automatic to resist, it was like pushing against a steel wall that was closing in on you; no hope what so ever.
It didn't last and eventually the presence gone, and he sighed in relief. Knowledge was there though, knowledge he hadn't had before, and in the end most helpful. Dragons themselves, were being helpful, in all their intimidating fashion. They rambled off some words and then they were gone, not even a burst of wind from their wings as if flown. Just vanished...leave it to dragons to have a dramatic exit.
Ruffeling his hair thinking and hurting his head more, he looked up as Karuso asked him a question; clearly doubting what just happened. Zien raised a brow though at the particularly long word he used. "...Karu remember, modern vocab here...but yes dragons were here, doing something with our heads and then sending us off to some strange city gawd knows where."
Groaning again, he held his head. This was a lot to take in and keep a hold off...the headache was only getting worse.

When Zien replied, he had to remind Karuso of his chosen vocabulary, Karuso's choice wasn't always the easiest to understand in modern contexts. But the elemental did support one thing, this really did just happen. Without having to think, Karuso somehow remembered that there are 6 cities, one dramatically smaller than the rest, and that they needed to go to one of them, apparently the nearest if they were to get anywhere in this forsaken world.
"Great" he said. "So we really are in a different world. I only hope that the other's are okay..." he brushed a hand through his long white hair as it flopped back into place - suddenly realising he felt less... tired. His large blade, then rapier, was replaced by his side next to his curled up whip. Looking over in any direction, he hoped to find some sort of baring, and he did. There were more spires in the far off distance, like what the Dragon's had told them... or showed them, he wasn't sure.
Taking the initiative Karuso said "we had better get moving... find out where we actually are" staring over towards the destination. It was far, and over some cliffs.

Still having difficulty grasping it all, it was graduly setting in though for Zien. "Least we aren't wondering about where we are, we know we don't know enough about this place to know. One of our long list of questions is answered at least...one of the more important ones..."
Zien was trying to be a bit positive here, looking for the silver lining. He had no worries about the girls, they were well and capable of looking after each other and themselves. The thing that nagged at the back of his mind that he refused to acknowledge was if they got through to here...did Lamia?
Haring the mention of moving on, Zien groaned. "....they could have least given us a ride there..."
The elemental however, didn't waste time by dillydallying. Zien was at Karu's side as they began their way towards the spire and the cliffs. The cliffs he wasn't fond of particular but, if the same earth here function as their own, Zien would be able to move it like all else. It was the distance that was the real kicker.
"...its so far away..."

As they began to walk away from The Crossing, through the shallow water and blotches of dirt and grass, Zien mentioned a ride. KAruso almost shrugged and wish they had too. It made Karuso think of the wings he could conjure... but they only worked for quick attacks, he could never fly. But that reminded him of what Lamia did to him.
After a good few minutes of walking, Karuso felt the need to say something after all the thinking. "Zien" he said. BEginning to remember in more detail exactly what had happened to him. Lamia almost killed him, kept him hanging off the ledge of life and death. Then and there he wish Lamia had just killed him, but instead she used his body as a reincarnation for his dead ancestor, the Prince of Crows... an ancestor he never even knew about.
"I'm sorry for anything i did to you... that he did"

Who knew what they would find on their way there. It was quiet a distance and even with an easier trek through the cliff faces with his elemental abilities, it was still going to be a long trip. So when the were starting to reach the water and mucky part of the rivers, Zien with a flick of his finger, raised up the river bed slightly like a platform within the water. Once past, portion by portion would return to normal.
He kept it up half way across the river, by then Karu brought up something else he wasn't fond of talking about. With good reason, Zien had blocked a lot of that out; Lamia and the fight with the Prince of Crows over Karuso's body. It hadn't been a pleasant sight or experience, Karu was already hard to beat and on powers the Crow came with and the girls and him were pretty much hopelessly out of luck in beating him. The harsher reality was staring into Karu face while the Prince was trying to kill them all. Zien found it particularly difficult after having to suffer the loss of him at first; harsher then th rest of them.
Upon seeing Karu, only he wasn't at the time, though Zien didn't know that, instinct had taken over and he had run up and drown his vampire knight in kisses and embraces. It was the out of character reaction from Karu that led them to know that it was Karu...but someone else wearing his face. After that realization, the young elemental couldn't bare to raise hand to him, let alone a fist full of earth or flame.
Sighing and forcing back the memories, the real harsh reality was clearly Karu didn't remember anything. Zien wasn't about to tell him anything either, already the vampire beat himself up about it enough. "Don't apologize...it wasn't you...it was the Prince that was doing it all, just wore you body like a business man wears a suit."
He hadn't been looking at him then, but as they slowed as the conversation grew more depressing, Zien gripped Karu's arm just above his elbow. It was hard to miss how sculpted and strong just by touch alone and through heavy cloth no less.
"Hey...don't beat yourself up about it, wasn't your fault. Lamia just used your body as a means to an end. Stop beating yourself up about it, we all handled it and we made it out alright."
With that Zien walked on, however, no spring in his step. He probably suffered the most in a psychological way. The Prince of Crows playing off of all of the elemental's insecurities and uncertainties. All the care he had for the vampire, the Prince spat it back with venom and spite. The only real injuries he had suffered was when he had been pinned face down by the mad Prince, and learned his like of torture a bit. Though nothing serious, the Prince had before to cut down the scarred lines of Zien's back from the attack that led him to meeting Karuso.
Zien would never tell him, because already his silver haired vampire had enough to bare on his broad shoulders.
"Come on then, we should get going...the city isn't going to walk its way to us," he said with a chuckle and a smile as he turned to look over his shoulder at Karu.

Cora Lainey
Cora's mind swirled; she couldn't remember much. She was home, in the woods, admiring the moon. It was beautiful and bright.
Cora struggled to open her eyes, but they felt heavy. She resigned, and let her eyes stay closed.
Something had taken her from the woods. She struggled to recall and was fighting to understand.
Cora felt something cool enveloping her, and willed herself to open her eyes.
She lay in a body of water, off on the brink of the shore. Her hair was tangled in the rocks and pebbles of the land as her torso floated in the shallow pool. Cora slowly sat up and assessed her surroundings. Dangerously close to a waterfall, Cora quickly scampered onto the solid ground.
'This is not my home,' Cora thought to herself. 'There are no waterfalls in my woods.'
Her heart pounded as she gathered in the scenery, but her heart suddenly stopped when she noticed two great dragons. Cora swiftly located a bundle of boulders to hide behind and quietly panicked.
'Either I'm dreaming, or I'm certifiably insane,' her mind raced. The cold, damp clothes that clung to her did not help her theory of a dream. Cora closed her eyes and wished she could hide from this all.

Evétuiléon & Uredéces The two dragons of Virtue and Justice were perched majestically on their respective towers, every morning, every night, the two were found here. As guardians of the Crossing, they know when, and where someone passes through and reaches Magic Earth. And on this occasion, a young girl had arrived. At first they didn't even bat a wing, their golden claws kept firmly on the worn rock surface of the unused spires. This wasn't the first time they had startled the newcomer, the young girl below them scurrying to some boulders before she could be taken away by the waterfall.
"One does not have to fear us unless one has something to hide" rumbled one of the dragons, its smooth yet low-toned voice loud enough to reach the girl below them. It was Justice that had just spoken, and this time Virtue spoke next. "Or if one is confused, we can help you", Virtue's voice was almost the same as Justice's, there was no way to easily distinguish between the two, they even looked exactly the same if not for the purple eyes of Justice, and the blue eyes of Virtue, but of coarse they were too high up for her to be able to see that. Both the Dragon's stayed upon their places high up on the spires, occasionally beating their wings to stretch them. They were here to help or question, in this case, help. That was weather the girl was going to accept that help or not.
