The promenade, or main lobby of the ship was posh, offering a luxury that the Islands simply didn't have. For many this would be their first time in a place like this, and for many more it would be their only time. Like the rest of the cruise ship, there is an almost decadent, archaic feel to the main deck. It is almost unreal, as if the entire place was built carefully in a set down in Hollywood instead of the director booking an entire cruise ship. Somewhere soft music is being plinked soothingly on a hidden piano. A soft hum of neon lights point the way to an on-board casino, looking rather snug beneath the lower ceiling. Further past it is an open bar complete with complementary beverages. Alcoholic ones however, range in the prices from basic beers and mixed drinks in the single digits to more expensive wines in the doubles and triples. The brand names are nondescript for the beverages. Towards the other end a grand staircase leads the way up to the main deck and to the higher cabins, many of which are, sadly, locked because they are still preparing the rooms. You're on a luxury cruise liner, after all; why do you want to go hide in a luxury room when there's so much to see and do? .
The highlight of the Promenade however is the rows and rows of bright, well-light shops that decorate it. A suit and tie place, for custom suits. An expensive dress shop. A jewelry place, promising genuine diamonds. Even a little bit down, a hand-made ice cream parlour. It seems like the entire place is meant to cater, as long as one had the money.
OOC: THE PROMENADE All Hunters can visit the Promenade. As it is early, only a few stores are open right now. If Hunters have the budget, they CAN buy these items for KEEPS for their character. Hunters can shuffle in and out of RPS as they please, just make sure to EXIT the thread to let other players know. You can either be here or at the Casino! - Mark in OOC the LOCATION of where your Hunter is at (the areas listed below). gaia_crown Tiffany and Co.- Who wouldn't recognize this fine, expensive jewelry, critically acclaimed as one of the best? From diamonds, to fashionable earrings, it seems the store has pretty much everything for women and men. - For pricing, just use their site to see how much it would cost your Hunter. Multiply it by 1.5 for taxes, obviously. gaia_crown D. H. Brooks & Co.:- A fine store offering custom built suits made with one's measurements. Pricing starts at $1500 gaia_crown Ben & Jerry's: - An ice cream store selling all sorts of flavours. The usual scoops start at $8, making it the only reasonable place on the promenade gaia_crown Cruise Convenience Store:- A pretty much high end cruise ship convenience store, selling candies, bottled water, chocolates, sort of low-end things. Items there are a flat $10. You can also find (somewhat useless) first aid kits, and fun things such as flashlights, extension cables, and some general amenities. gaia_crown MAIN LOBBY:- Jazz music, live, is currently featured in the main lobby including usage of the amazing Steinway and Sons grand piano. A small reception has been building up, though most of the idle chatter is really not important. - At the side is a small cocktail bar serving the usual mixed beverages at $10 each.

Jude had found himself at the promenade with his hands in the pockets of the pants of his suit. He'd adjusted the collar of his outfit to be a little more open in the front and had opened up the jacket. Jude was still formally dressed but it looked as if he was a business man at the end of a very tough day.
He wandered around the promenade taking a look at what he had to fill his time with and soon just settled in the seat within the Main Lobby. He wondered if he was going to be on his own or if he'd be able to group in with someone.
The young man felt on edge, but that was the norm for missions.

Stormy had never been on a cruise before. She almost had once, but when they had really come down to the price, it had been a bit too extravagant for her father's tastes. Thus did the lights of the main lobby seem to sparkle in her wide eyes as she walked in, still distractedly motioning for Dorian to keep up.
"Look at all this," she half-whispered, stopping to wait for him. Her eyes and ears were immediately drawn to the grand piano and the jazz band playing, and in seconds she was tapping her foot to the beat. If the trainee had looked nervous and withdrawn before, she was bright-eyed and like a child now; the amount of people no longer mattered because the space was larger, the explorations filled with more options. And there was nice music.
They were on a mission, but let her be in awe for a moment. Cruise shiiiiiip~
"Have you ever been on one before?" she asked Dorian, her head tilting about to catch all the sights.Quote: Name Tag: Eileen Dover Money: $4150

In the span of half an hour, Maebe had gotten a crash course in several lessons. One, was just plain old staying alive as a hunter. Two, was how important it was to dress right. And three, was the Clarice was the go to woman for clothing. So she walked into her first mission with not only an appropriate dress, but accessories to match. And to be quite honest, she felt pretty damn good about herself. She'd taken her hair out of the pigtails, and it was layered down her back, pulled away from her face with two braids that merged into one at the back of her head. So this was what it meant to be a Hunter, right? She could get used to this. She moved to sit at the bar, and ordered the very first drink she'd ever been able to order, before - because nobody ever believed her fake IDs back home. But they didn't even ask, here. Things were changing for the better.

Jude saw Maebe wander in and there were several changes to her wardrobe that he noticed making him raise an eyebrow. He tapped fingertips against the edge of his chair. To be social or not to.
To be a gentleman or to be a jackass.
So many options.
He finally drew himself up to his feet and wandered to stand next to Maebe, "...So are you a mean drunk or a happy drunk?"

"Heeey, tie guy." Maebe rose her newly given glass at him. "I've got no idea. I've never really gotten drunk, only tipsy. And I really don't think today's the day to find out, either." They were on the clock, after all - a job was a job. "But I don't know if I can say I'm a happy anything, let alone a happy drunk. So maybe I'm mean." Her lips pursed tight. "Either way, you're probably save. Pull up a chair, get a drink while we still can." She had a funny feeling this boat was going to Titanic by the end of the night.

"Mmm. I'm not too into alcohol myself," He said quietly as he looked at the selection and then shrugged his shoulders. Jude ordered a glass of water for now, and he pretty much saddled himself up on the stools at the bar. "Well happy or mean ...Good luck on the mission."
"I also see you traded in the orange nightmare for something else," he observed quietly. "I like it." It wasn't overly flattering but it was a simple and sincere truth.

"Suit yourself then." She was on somebody elses tab, and happy to use the money she'd been given to buy things she really wanted, like a nice buzz. She turned the stool and sipped her Long Island Iced Tea, people watching as they talked. "Do I need luck? I mean, I get it, Clarice told me how dangerous this is, but we're dressed in heels, on a boat - well.. I've got heels. Not you. So how bad can it be?" She was such a newbie. Reminded of the jumpsuit she'd come in on, she rolled her eyes and tugged at one of the straps. "Yeah, thanks. Apparently I was too obvious. Not my fault. But this dress, it was made for someone taller and more shapely, so it's a little awkward. You're right though. Better than the prison suit." She saw nobody else from the room, but so many faces passed. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion, and she bent in to whisper. "Do these people, I mean, are they all like us, or do they even know..?"

He snorted a bit, "Suit yourself.."
Jude tugged at the collar of his outfit and shrugged his shoulders as he simply talked at Maebe in a lower tone just in case a civilian or someone else would meander past them to make things difficult, "Doubt anyone knows, and if they did know they'd get all sorts of uneasy." He shrugged his shoulders, "Or lock us up in an asylum. So it's best not to mention your new employment to anyone outside the island."
"But ... I wouldn't doubt it if some of these others are also like us just meandering around. Don't get all paranoid though, that'll just make you look more out of place." he finished and then took a nice drink of water. Ahhh.

Telling her to not look suspicious just made her try to be casual, which ended up looking more suspicious than she'd been in the first place. She might as well have gotten a pair of sunglasses and leaned back on the bar too far. "Right, right.. I get you." She murmured through one corner of her lips. "Play it cool."She took another sip of her drink without looking, and choked on an ice cube.

He sighed deeply.
Lookit the cute little newbie choking on ice. Just so long as she didn't choke on the mission...
Jude reached over and gave her a couple of firm pats, "Hey. You aren't supposed to inhale ice. I don't know when the last time you got food was, but I don't think ice will do it."

After a good few coughs, she brushed his arm away. "Quit it, wise guy. Like you've never choked on something before." Innuendo intentional? It was a mystery. She put down her drink on the bar, and leaned in, looking less conspicuous and more brooding. She had nothing to say, anymore. She wasn't actually insulted by him, but the entire situation had her weirded out. She'd only been awake for a day, after all, she still wasn't used to her new life, and things were starting to catch up with her. Someone had hacked her to pieces to try and get to this point. Was that person even here, now? Waiting to kill her off again? For all she knew, it was that girl who'd said she was new. Or maybe even Jude himself. "How long've you been around for, again?" Ah, she'd found her voice.

He smirked a little, "Maybe if you behave I'll tell you about it one day," he replied to her innuendo. It was likely that he'd given up on what people thought of him physically or whatever have you. He'd grown up and gotten over it, for the most part.
It got under his skin depending on who said something.
As she asked him about how long he seemed to get lost in thought for a second before he said, "About three years or so. Give or take," Jude shrugged his shoulders.
"I've seen things. I guess I could leave it at that." He took another sip of his water. "You will either grow to hate it or love it."

"Grooooss." He'd called her on it. She respected that, which was why her murmur of disgust was laced with laughter. "Keep those stories to yourself." But at least she knew she could be sure he wasn't one of the faceless mobs that had tried to kill her. That was relieving - but it didn't mean they weren't here. Somewhere. "Three years is a long time. You look pretty not-broken to me. That's reassuring." Her drink was back in her hand, and a very long sip was taken - was it empty already? What a shame.. but she just lifted her hand to order another. "I hope it turns out to be love. I hated life enough as it was, I'm about due for a little love."

He'd clearly been hanging around certain people too long.
"That's a shame. I was hoping to get so many things off my chest," he faked a long disappointed sigh. Jude wasn't honestly all that disappointed about not telling Maebe anything about his personal life, but it was fun to pretend.
"I have my battle scars here and there, I guess I managed to keep them away from my face so far, but that could change in an instant," he chuckled as if he found it funny. Maybe it was.
At her observation about life he returned a simple,"...I know that feeling."
