Damn things were starting to get on his nerves. He couldn’t shake the disappointment of having failed for a third time. Damn. Eventually he had to get it, right? He was near fuming at this point. Something had to give. He was already in a new part of the forest, having quickly left the spot where he was just recently thrown into a tree by a dragon’s tail. He had a feeling he wouldn’t be able to shake that off of his ego any time soon. He grumbled to himself as he continued to trek and climb over obstacles.
He broke through to a clearing in the forest and he thought his luck might be beginning to turn around. Who would have guessed that he would be stumbling upon a sleeping dragon today? Especially after all of his bad luck. Guess fourth time’s the charm.
He didn’t want to take any chances on such an easy target this time. He got on all fours and crawled his way up to the dragon. He was nearly even with its eyes at this point, so close he could touch it. Drive a dagger through it was more like it, since that was exactly what he was planning to do. He pulled up his dagger and was about to drive it down when the dragon opened its eyes. s**t.
Apparently dragons didn’t like to be woken because it gave out a snarl and a hiss and before it could do anything else, Nuivian was off. He pulled his dagger back and with a shoving start took off back into the forest. The Ysali dragon didn’t seem to appreciate his sudden choice to back off of the hunt; as Nuivian looked back he could see a flurry of vines chasing after his, slowly progressing to his location. s**t again. This wasn’t going nearly as well as it should have.
And with that, Nuivian was up in the air, dangling by vines. Well damn.
