OOC: The only lions that should be posting in this RP, for the most part, are Patrons... And Riddle-mouth if he feels up to popping in xd

Strangers were in the land... Flower Lord watched them with a deep-seeded suspicion, finding himself feeling very protective of these lands he now called home. Though he'd joined during the days of insanity's rule, he found he liked a clear mind much better. The Patron General gave a slight sneer, before he turned and went padding back to the pride's dens. Any familiars he could, he grabbed and sent searching for all the patrons of the pride they could, hoping some would answer the call. They needed to be ready, just in case. To emphasize things, he found a rock to stand on, letting out a roar to summon any Patrons to hear.

The first Patron to step out of the foliage was Aurora. The lioness' yellow eyes flashed as she walked up to the rock, before turning. "The others should be coming soon... It's about what Riddle-mouth has been telling us, I don't know why you're calling us all here... The patrols are already pretty heavy." She looked back at the gold lion, inclining her head. "Unless you're looking for a status report." She gave a light smirk. "They're as bright as my former-and-new pride mate!" The fact Kumbuko, now Soothsayer, had found the Kizingo'zaa and, inadvertently, Ulimwengu, now Aurora, amused the volatile lioness. Her ears flicked, listening for others gathering.

Hana'Hofu was lying on a large rock on the beach, basking in the warm sunlight. Percival had given her the day off from training; normally, that would have meant her training on her own or finding another patron to help. But today, her mentor had been clear that she was to rest.
And so, Hana was sun-bathing when a shadow fell over her. She glanced up and saw a bird drifting down toward her. Recognizing it as one that was bonded to a pride member, she waited patiently for it to land beside her.

"Hello. Is there something I can help you with?"

The bird seemed hesitant, but after a brief pause revealed that there was a meeting of the patrons. It admitted to being unsure about inviting her since she was still in training, but Flower Lord had said all the patrons.

"Thank you," Hana nodded gratefully to the bird. As it flew off in search of more patrons, she rose to her paws and stretched. Turning in the direction the bird had indicated, she leapt down from the rock and trotted off. It wasn't long before she caught sight of Flower Lord and Aurora, and she padded up to them confidently, bowing her head in respect to the two elder patrons. She sat down, back straight with her tail curled over her paws, and lifted her chin. "Greetings, Flower Lord. Greetings, Aurora."

Asker padded across the sand, blue standing out in stark contrast to the white grains. As per his parent's request, he was to attend the meeting of the patrons and report back with any news. The young male felt proud standing in for his father and mother. He loved having a sense of duty and purpose towards his family and pride. If only it could be under more favourable circumstances. Riddle Mouth was shaken about the fortune teller's warning, putting all patrons on high alert. His parents hadn't reacted too well either. Vodnitvar, like Riddle Mouth, had seemed troubled about the mention of muses, but distinctly less so than the Gypsy King. Asker himself was only left in confused wonderment. He only new of the muses from stories: some were warnings, and some were praises. Thinking about it made Asker feel nervous and antsy. The male squashed down his feelings of anxiety, taking a deep calming breath before quickening his pace. He was almost there, and he needed to look calm and composed for the sake of the pride.
That calm face broke into one of surprised joy upon seeing who was already at the meeting. Hana! He shouldn't have been all that surprised, really. They both had taken to Patron training quite well. It would only make sense that she would be here as well. Asker let himself show a small, but warm smile as he reached the meeting place. "Sister! Good to see you here as well." He gave her a greeting nod, resisting the urge to bump her shoulder and nuzzle her fondly. They not cubs anymore. They were nobles, and needed to act as such out in public. The male turned to Flower Lord, greeting him as well. "I come in place of my parents. They would like to stay updated on the situation. And...we," he shot a quick glance to Hana before continuing, "will try to be of help in whatever way we can." Asker would prefer (and he suspected his sister did as well) to help by being on the front lines with the rest of the warriors, but the young male knew that not all patrons truly considered the nobles as a part of their ranks.

He had wrestled with the decision to attend the meeting for an hour or so now, unsure of whether his joints would allow for the trek required to get there. Instead he had requested his son Asker to take his place at the meeting. He knew with certainty that Asker would report back with a fine list of things gone over. But still, he fought the urge to go see things for himself. These new visitors within the lands did not sit well with him for many reasons. The most important of which was his family. He knew his children were more than capable of caring for themselves ... but he still feared for the worst in this situation.

Which was why he had changed his mind, and made the trek out to the Patron's grounds. He knew he wasn't a patron, but thanks to Fireheart and his children, the patrons knew of his background in battle. And while he may not be able to physically assist them anymore, his wisdom was irreplaceable.

Through the grove he was standing behind, he could hear Asker introducing himself, and explaining his appearance there. He then heard Hana's voice, and beamed with pride. It was no surprise to hear either of them there, but it still filled him with pride all the same.

Finally stepping out of the foilage, he nodded at the other patrons in attendance before taking up ranks between his siblings.

"I managed to make the trek on my own. So I am here to offer my own services, alongside my children's. They are quite capable of assisting you in any way you require. Though perhaps my experience, could come in handy in terms of advice?"

Shaking his injured leg, he frowned a bit before continuing. "Physical activity is no longer my strength ... but do not mistake that for uselessness."

Aurora's face turned darker and darker with each lion who appeared. She looked over to Straw Dog. "As I recall, YOU are an alchemist and NOT invited." She looked over to the two adolescents. "And regardless of what your parents want, this is NOT their matter at the moment. This is a private matter between the Patrons and Riddle Mouth. You are here as PATRONS in training, nothing more. Your familial duties are currently on HOLD for the moment in favor of duty to the WHOLE pride." She prepared to say more, when she felt a paw on her shoulder. Yellow eyes snapped around, before softening ever so slightly for the gold lion at her side.

The red-maned lion gave the cream lioness a hard look, then turned to Straw Dog. "She IS right... I'm afraid this is only for the Patrons, and if he feels fit to pay us a visit, Riddle Mouth. He gave us a task and I am gathering intel from the Patrons on what they know before reporting to him with our findings. It is for his ears only." He then pointedly looked at Blood and Cold. "Something that should, as Aurora mentioned, be between the Patrons and Riddle Mouth only at the moment. When the time comes, we WILL go to Lady Fireheart... But not before we know everything and a decision has been made."

User Image"When Flower Lord calls, it's for the patrons, not alchemists, thieves, gypsies, nor little lords." The deep voice rumbled in agreement to Aurora and Flower Lord as two others joined the gathering. The one who had spoken was Stormclaw, surly to a fault and absolutely terrible when it came to social situations, it was doubtful that there was a patron more focused and dedicated than him. He gave Flower Lord a short nod and Gale Claw's little apprentice a huff in what was the best sort of greeting one could get out of him.

Oh, he knew that Asker was training, just like his sister. But if he insisted on playing the diplomat, Stormclaw would have none of him. Either you were a patron or you were something else, in his mind it was foolish to halve oneself in such a way.

User ImageSpeaking of Gale Claws, the younger patron gave his former mentor a sharp frown over the remark. Mostly because there was no way to soften it because, honestly, he felt the same way. Add a bunch of the other pride members to the gathering of patrons and there could be confusion, or worse panic. No need for there to be a bunch of people hanging around that weren't who was called for.

But he didn't add, nor subtract from Stormclaw's comment. Instead, he dipped his head to his commander and walked over to Hana, putting a paw on her shoulder.
"I gave you the day to rest," he said, his words almost sounding like a rebuke. But that charming smile of his broke through, an honest to goodness one as he nodded his head. "But you answered the call. And you got here even before I did. Good initiative."

Hana returned her brother's warm nod, resisting the urge to purr and instead flashing a quick smirk. Oh, they would act like nobles here, but in private the two still enjoyed taunting and wrestling. Later, she would make sure to rub it in that she had arrived first - not because she actually thought she was better than Asker, they were both progressing well in their training, but because it was fun to ruffle his fur.

Her pelt spiked when Asker included her in his greeting. At first, it was with indignation - why hadn't father asked her for assistance? Her wounded pride was quickly forgotten, however, when she remembered where they were. Hana loved her family dearly, but being a patron was the best way to protect them and if she wasn't loyal as a patron first, she would be denied that chance. Percy had strongly expressed that patrons were forbidden from revealing what happened at their meetings - Riddle Mouth and Fireheart were the only ones with the right to spread information.

She lowered her head in shame - and frustration - as first Aurora, then Flower Lord, chastised the siblings. It wasn't fair for her to be blamed for this when she'd had no part in it, but she would remain loyal to her family and stoic in her position as a patron. Even through public punishment.

"I understand completely. My apologies." Hana replied respectfully when Aurora and Flower Lord had finished. Her head snapped up shortly after at a touch on her shoulder, her eyes brightening immediately at the sight of her mentor. She smiled at his praise and blinked slowly to show her appreciation, but didn't say anything more, turning back and paying full attention to the meeting. She'd been in enough trouble, and it hadn't even started yet!

Asker's face remained passive and emotionless, but he couldn't stop his ears from flattening to his head. The young male had to make a considerable effort to return them to a normal position and stop himself from snarling at Aurora. His familial duties were to help the whole pride during the crisis. Considering that currently overlapped with his patron duties of helping the whole pride during the crisis, Asker wasn't seeing much of an issue. The information would find its way to Fireheart and his father one way or another. Asker was simply supposed to speed that process up a bit, considering the potential threat. But if General Flower Lord wanted to keep things more secret for now, then Asker would have to respect that. On the other paw, he had been asked here. Fireheart wanted to be kept informed on a more normal basis. Perhaps he would go to Riddle Mouth or speak with Flower Lord privately after the meeting.
But his sister...that wasn't okay. Asker wouldn't have included her if he knew the repercussions were going to be so awful. "There's no need." He snapped as his sister apologized, wincing a little at how harsh his tone was. The young male exhaled through his nose to clam himself. "Hana wasn't sent here, I was. I'm sorry for the mistake." Embarrassing as it was, he wouldn't let his sister take the punishment for his blunder. His green eyes gazed up at Flower Lord, head bent in in apology. They glanced at his father next, lips twitching just barely into a frown. He hated the idea of abandoning his father, but what else could he do? For the first time, his training as a patron and his loyalty to his family were being conflicted. He didn't know how to choose. Asker didn't know if he could choose. Unless...perhaps he could find a way where he didn't have to. "I'm afraid I'm still trying to learn my place in the pride. I'm here as a Patron in training now." The male said sincerely, head high and holding Flower Lord's gaze.

Hana angled her head slightly and smiled warmly at her brother. While her honor and love for her family made her want to accept a punishment she didn't deserve, she should have known that Asker's wouldn't allow her to. The two could be very alike; it wasn't surprising at all that they had ended up in the same rank.

She curled her tail around their father and gently laid it on Asker's back. She knew how much courage it took for him to say what he had, and she wanted to show her support and appreciation. She loved all of her siblings equally, but she felt a different relationship with Asker - they could be there for each other in a way their other siblings couldn't. She doubted that anything could ever stop Asker and her from backing each other up.
It's hard for us to keep things from our families.. but if we don't obey the patron code, we won't learn how to protect them properly when they need us. Hana only wished that Asker could read her thoughts. Although, he'd probably figured all of that out for himself.

OOC: I'm not sure what the other siblings are up to, but I'm pretty sure that none of them are patrons. The only one I'm not totally sure about is Chaska.

Flower Lord gave a nod at the siblings. "Good." He eyed Straw Dog, still frowning, before he turned to the gathered Patrons. "You are all aware of the lions on the border... A strange group, who seem to be waiting for something. I need to know everything you can find out about them. These strangers may spread lies, we'll determine what's truth and what's a lie later. For now, I need information. And remember... It stays with the Patrons for now."

Aurora paced, still scowling. "We should just drive them back... Send them away."

The gold lion looked to his mate. "Why?"

"Because--" She stopped, frowning, then sat down. Why, indeed? Insanity or no, the pride had taken a lot of lions in, no questions asked. What DID make this group different? She frowned, more to herself, then stood up. "It seems we need to gather information for another reason... Why DO they make us so uneasy? What makes them so dangerous?" The exact details, anyway. They did know it was something about something they had invited back in, but what else was there?

OOC: For this to work fully, after everybody replies again, my next post will be a time skip to a few days after the big ORP that introduced the vision about the Dreamers heart

Hana narrowed her eyes in serious contemplation. She had noticed the strangers on border patrols with Percy; personally, she had thought their presence only slightly odd. Most rogues had either requested refuge or moved on by now, but they seemed determined to hang about. While that was a little strange, she hadn't thought it 'threatening'.

But, if the senior patrons were so convinced that the group needed to be scoped out, she wasn't about to argue. They had encountered far more rogues than she; perhaps they had noticed something that gave them reason to be uneasy that she was too inexperienced to pick up on. Whatever the case, she would follow orders.

"Understood. I'll do the best I can." Hana dipped her head, first to Flower Lord and then to Aurora. She was a little inclined to agree with Aurora's initial reaction - if they started to pay more attention to the group and they noticed, there was a chance that they might react... undesirably. It might be easier to just chase them off before they had a chance to inflict harm. But it had always been pride custom to provide sanctuary to those who needed it.

I don't always think that's a good thing...

Looking around at the small group, Kali wished that more of her children had followed her steps. It seemed th pride might need a strong and organized force in a time of need that was fast approaching. Only two Patrons had come out of her litter and she didn’t even see them here. The purple lioness would be passing on the results of this gathering to her daughters as soon as possible, she decided in silence as she listenned to her peers.

“Understood.” She said with a firm nod. It was a simple mission, spying on the potential threats. There was no mistake in erring on the side of caution especially after the warning they’d received.

Asker frowned. Drive them away? That was completely against the pride's customs. They were supposed to be welcoming to any rogues who stumbled upon their borders. As to why they were hanging around, Asker had a few ideas about that. "Maybe they're staying on the border because they're a little intimidated." The young male had met a lioness who had admitted to going through that when Asker first met her on the border one day. "I'm sure it's a little frightening for a passing rogue to try and seek shelter with a pride, even one with a friendly reputation like us. They could just be waiting for a quiet moment to come in." He suggested with a slight shrug. "However we definitely shouldn't send them away. Gather information, yes. Be a little cautious, yes, but it wouldn't be right to automatically assume the worst in them." All lions should have the chance to visit the pride. If they caused a problem, then they could be kicked out. But not before. That just wasn't fair.

OOC: Sorry this took a while, I was waiting for one last reply... Can't wait anymore so we're moving this along xd ; Assume at this point the Patrons have observed the intruders for a while now. Remember, any speculations brought up need to be from the RP contest for the Dreamers! heart Not from any RPs the Dreamers have done xd heart

The time had come. Flower Lord went not to the rock he'd occupied the night the seer and his mate had shown up, but a cliff overlooking the lands. Lifting his gaze, he looked at the stars above, before looking down at the pride below. Lions and a few other animals moved here and there, though most slept. He curled back his lip, taking a breath before letting out a roar, calling the Patrons back to him. It was time to report what everybody had seen and observed.

As before, Aurora was the first to answer the call, letting out her own roar from down on the beach. As the waves crashed to her right, she began to walk, then trot, and soon run, toward the cliff. While there was an easier path, she decided to take a harder one, climbing over rocks and flexing her muscles as she moved. The cream-colored lioness soon pulled herself up, yellow eyes flicking as she looked at Flower Lord, then toward rustling bushes, assuming them to be the other Patrons come to join them.

Hana was not surprised to see Aurora looking in her direction as she emerged from the bushes. The dark, young lioness had been lying in her nest at the sound of Flower Lord's roar; not sleeping, just simply lying. She had immediately leapt to her paws and raced to his location.

Now, she dipped her head and muttered respects to each of the older patrons before settling down and wrapping her tail over her paws, waiting for the rest of the group to arrive.
