First he stared at the map.

Then he looked up.

Then he looked at the map a little further.

"Merde." It was safe to say that he was lost again. Sitting somewhere in the headquarters grounds, Dorian stared at a map that was full of marks and writing, both and English and French, as he tried to decipher the new home of a sort, a murmuring chuckle the only response from his less-than-sympathetic partner. "The best part of Europe was that I could just go anywhere, and not need to research maps for hours." He mumbled to the paper, before catching sight of a familiar coat type, watching what he assumed was a "Mist Hunter" wandering around ahead of him.

"Allo, hello there!" He called out, hoping whoever it was had a better . . . grasp than he did.

Unfortunately for Dorian, he'd managed to find the one hunter who actually had no idea where he was either.

Ian, who had spent a good majority of the morning simply wandering around the Deus grounds because he could, was currently having a conversation with a very unhappy Naomi inside of his head.

You're so stingy.

{ Because I reprimanded you for getting yourself into such a situation? You're incorrigible. }

That's my name, don't wear it out.

Naomi gave a huff, but lapsed into silence. Ian turned at the sound of the voice, a light smile on his face as his gaze fell on a dark haired young man a few feet away.

"Greetings!" he said cheerfully, giving a mock salute. "How may I help you? Come to say hi? Need advice? What's up, my good man?"

He was starting to slowly get used to people looking like they were having conversations in his head - he had admittedly spent an hour in his mirror trying to get the feel of not moving his body during conversations with Justice, but it was hard comings.

When the lad turned around, he stared up at the cheery lad, eyebrows raised in a bit of a caught position. Were they supposed to salute? He didn't even think of that, and, loosely, he returned the little welcome, allowing the map to droop a little in front of him.

"Uh, Greetings," was all he could start with, his internal english to french dictionary getting a full working by this hunter's . . . joie de vie, which made him grin a little. "Do you know where we are. Parce que . . I am lost." He tried to explain a bit, furrowing his eyebrows a little and holding his map up. "I thought I was here. . " point, "but it looks nothing like that. Vous savez?" He asked.

He recognized the somewhat stilted language, Ian's shoes making soft padding noises as he made his way over to the hunter.

"Here, let me see that," he said, and leaned over to peer curiously at the map, tracing the lines with his eyes. It was a full layout of Deus, or at least, that was what he assumed, and after a moment, Ian leaned back with a decisive nod, as though he knew exactly what he was doing.

"Nope, sorry, I have no idea where I am either."

It had been so sudden that Dorian burst out laughing, having not expected the man who was so sure of himself to not know where they were at all. After a few moments, he willingly lifted his hand to grab the map again, going to stand next to the taller hunter, giving it a once over again.

"Merde, chose stupide. Well, I 'ad spent the last hour taking pens and markers to this ********' thing. Don't know where I went wrong." He admitted, screwing his face up before folding it a bit and turning to the man. "Walk with me then? We can find our way out." He offered, raising his eyebrows and offering a gloved hand.

"Dorian Côté, et vous?"

Ian peered more closely at the map.

Nope. It was still like reading a foreign language. And speaking of foreign languages - it seemed like he'd managed to run into someone who spoke more in French than he did in English. Ian's smile broadened.

"اسمي Ian Rahal-Nazari," he said cheerfully. "Which just means my name is Ian Rahal-Nazari."

Eyebrows rose when the man started speaking another language - more from the sudden change of words, and his unfortunate lack of any knowledge of what he just said. Giving a soft laugh, he lightly patted the taller man's shoulder a little, looking around, deciding that it was futile for them to attempt.

"Well, Ian." He piped up, scratching his chin a little, "I know for certain that I 'ad come from. . ." vague pointing, "Over there. Nous avons donc au moins." He mused, before shrugging. "Mais, are you new also? Woken up jus' like me?" He figured they may as well get to know each other, in case they were stuck in this area for the rest of their new life.

Stop being so melodramatic.

"I am very new, yes," said Ian. "But, of course, being new does have it's perks - starting with being very unaccustomed to anything here, which doesn't sound like a perk, but it most certainly is definitely a perk."

{ You are making little sense. }

That is half the fun.

"What do you think so far of our humble abode, anyway?" Ian asked, sweeping his hands grandly from side to side. "Like the decor? Like the coffee? Like anything at all?"

"Nothing beats à double lait, sucre triple from Tims." He admitted, giving the other man a look that said 'you can't even argue that, you know it to be true.' giving a little shrug, thinking about it, before shrugging again, going to scratch the back of his head lightly.

"The decor ees good, rooms are small enough, mais, is not a 'ostel. Ever spend a night in there? Can be 'ell." He answered, before lightly tapping his head with a gloved finger. "La voix dans ma tête, the voice, is something else." He figured he could admit - unless he was the only one who had adopted a little voice who nagged him at all times.

Now now, be nice. Jerk.

The reaction made him grin a little, knowing he had hit a spot.

It was fortunate that Ian was, in fact, from Canada himself, otherwise he might not have understood what Dorian was saying about Tim's. As it was, he turned his head and sent the other man an amused look.

"I liked their green tea myself," he said airily, and then added, "A hostel? Once, back when I was studying abroad. It was pretty fun, I thought. Kinda crazy, and one helluva mishmash of chaos, but..."

Ian grinned. "I like chaos, though."

{ You would. }

Hush.

"Tea is not bad. Chai tea 'as a place in my 'eart." He admitted lightly, before sighing a little, looking aroud a bit.

"I t'ink that we should find our way back to the menagerie - I wonder if they're worried that they've lost a couple trainees." He voiced outwards, immediately thinking to himself that it was probably not the most likely thought of the higher ups, but he couldn't give a s**t, he just wanted to find his way back to his warm, silent room.

"Two 'eads are better than one, oui?"
