Canyon Field: The canyon walls towers high towards the ceiling while the ground sinks downwards several levels, making the top and bottom of the field very difficult to see without special equipment. The cliff faces are very steep with little ridge support for grabbing and climbing; on top of that, the rock faces are very damp which makes grabbing and holding on very difficult. A few skinny trees and roots jut out from the cliff and allow smaller, nimbler pokemon to grab and swing around. At the very bottom of the canyon’s long drop is a deep pool of water. Keeping up is difficult for trainers on this particular battlefield, so stadium officials have set up a special view screen on each of the trainer platforms. A mini camera will follow your pokemon around while it battles (of course, it’s programmed to back off when a pokemon does an attack) and the view screen will enable trainers to issue commands to their companions via microphone. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to FLYING and ROCK type attacks.

Zinnia watched as Zarya floated ahead up to the trainer's podium. The shy ghost had experienced quite a few battles now, and it seemed that they were paying off on her self-confidence. She hoped that Zarya wouldn't put too much pressure on herself to succeed, though; battles were meant to be fun!

"Don't worry, all right?" Zinnia said once she'd caught up to her pokemon. Zarya only stared at her with silent red eyes.

Zinnia turned toward her opponent on the opposite end of the stadium. "Let's have a good battle!" she called over cheerfully.

Kytti entered the arena and smiled. Enza, her Volcarona flew in behind her and flapped happily as it surveyed the arena.
"Let's have a great battle!" Kytti cheered towards Enza and then turned towards her opponent, "Likewise!"

"Let's make the best of it Enza! Use Swagger!" Kytti cheered happily.
Enza flew straight up and did a somersault. She then flew straight down towards the water and did another somersault.

"Heal Bell!" Zinnia commanded when she saw that Zarya had been confused.

The mismagius did her best to concentrate on making beautiful music to heal her status condition, but the world appeared to be swimming. She tried to focus on her opponent, feeling nervous and bewildered.

Kytti watched the Mismagius and the soothing sound reminded her of the times with her Deerling.
"Again, Enza! Show them your swag!" Kytti cheered.
Enza flit about from one side to the other before stopping on a rock.

Zarya managed to ignore Enza's dance the second time, and remained focused on the task at hand. She had to succeed and prove her worth.

"Power Gem!" Zinnia called out.

Zarya concentrated for a moment, and the gems on her ghostly cloak began to glow. Suddenly, three beams of light burst out, heading straight toward her opponent.

Blasted by the rocks, Enza flit about to get her bearings.
"Try it again Enza!" Kytti cheered happily.
Enza flit to one side and flapped her wings rapidly.

"Power Gem!" Zinnia commanded.

Zarya concentrated on her trainer's voice. The gems on her cloak flashed, and a triple beam of light arced their way toward Enza.

Enza dodged the next attack.
"Try it again Enza!" Kytti cheered happily.
Enza danced about and flapped her wings happily.

Zarya went cross-eyed at Enza's dance. She shook her head, but that didn't help at all.

"Try to use Power Gem!" Zinnia said to her confused pokemon.

Zarya's gems glowed brightly, but the beams that burst out arced crazily all over the gym.
