Playground Field: The field looks like an average playground. Grass mostly covers the field floor, but sand surrounds the areas where the jungle gym, see-saw, swing set, merry-go-round, monkey bars, and trapeze rings are set. Scattered around the field are a baseball, a soccer ball, a football, and many other types of balls. A tree stands at one corner of the playground with a tire swing hanging from its strongest branch. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to NORMAL type attacks.

Zinnia smiled down at the familiar sight of the field. The playground field always seemed like fun to her; if she weren't about to battle, she would be sorely tempted to climb down there and have a go on the jungle gym. Instead, she climbed up the steps to the trainer's podium, carrying her beloved Zyk on her shoulder.
"You ready to go?" she asked the small zubat.
Zyk chirruped an affirmation. It was good to be battling again!

From the shadows of the arena walls something came flying out. With a flash, the pokeball opened and out popped a Chatot. It flew towards the see-saw and landed softly before chattering randomly. From the shadows slinked a man clad in crimson. He carefully walked to the trainers box and stared vacantly into the field.

"Um..." Zinnia said when she saw her opponent enter his box. "Hi there! Good luck!" she called over to him. He had a weird outfit (not that she was one to talk, considering she had worn a Rocket uniform until not too long ago).
"Zyk! Start things off with Return!" she commanded.
Zyk winged his way toward the chatot, then called upon his fond feelings for Zinnia to tackle straight at the bird pokemon.

A dark gruff voice boomed, "Jabbawockie! Quit your chattering!"
The Chatot looked back and squawked in reply. She looked back towards the Zubat just in time to dodge the attack and squawked violently in return.

Zyk's confusion caused his squeaks to become erratic, which threw his echolocation off. He did his best to locate his chattery opponent and dove headlong in what he hoped was the right direction.

The Chatot was hit by the attack and flapped into the air. " The See-saw! Always the See-saw!" Merrick called towards his pokemon. The Chatot squawked, " See-saw! See-saw!" Jabbawockie flew into the air and beat it's sapphire wings slowly. A dark cloud started to form and an eerie wind started to swirl around it. "Haze!" Zinnia shouted again when Zyk hit himself in the face with his wing in his confusion.
Zyk's ears were suddenly filled with chatter again. His "vision" and sense of balance was skewed once more.
