Aoi Mizushima
Information Age: 18 Date of Birth: April 22 Gender: Female Sexuality: Straight Height: 5' 2" Weight: 125 lbs. Hair Color: Light bluish-purple Eye Color: Teal/blue-green
Characteristics: Cares for her friends and will try to do whatever to help them. Although if they anger her she will refuse to speak with them for days. Aoi doesn't often show her emotions or tell others her thoughts. She also doesn't talk to very many people and usually avoids others because she doesn't trust many people because of something that happened when she was little.
Biography: Aoi is a mermaid, who was born into a semi-wealthy family, yet lost it all when there were raids on her village of Kuroshinju. She grew up with very few friends because not many children liked her and thought that she was spoiled, even when her family lost everything. As she grew older she tried desperately to make people like her and was willing to go to great lengths to make others accept her as a friend. On her sixteenth birthday she snuck away from home and visited the surface world. When her family found out they were furious and they sent her to the City of Aosango. When she arrived there she was taken to the High Council to be punished. They told her that she was not allowed to leave her home and that there would be a guard with her at all times. However, several nights after she got home she snuck away and went to the suface again. Determined not to be kept away from the surface she didn't go back to Aosango. She knew that she couldn't go home either, so she was alone, with nowhere to go and no one to turn to. She was scared about living alone, yet felt like she didn't have a choice so she just kept swimming, hoping she'd find somewhere to go and someone she could trust. She lived in several places for short periods, yet she knew she couldn't stay anywhere for too long or she'd end up being found and she knew she'd be killed if that happened. It's been two years since she left home and is about to give up and let herself be caught because she can't take being alone anymore, yet she still longs to go to the surface.

Alexis Tsukino
Information Age: 17 Date of Birth: July 13 Gender: Male Sexuality: Straight Height: 6' 1" Weight: 167 lbs Hair Color: Dark Reddish Bronze with silver tips. Eye Color: Silver with emerald green edges
Characteristics: Calm most of the time, Friendly to most people, Thoughtful. He is also creative, though he doesn't often reveal his true talents too often, as not many cared about him growing up.
Biography: When Alexis was born, his mother grew sick and weak afterward, only to discover that she was sick with a form of cancer that was virulent. After his third birthday, she passed away, leaving him with an older sister and his father who was often drunk. He was often found on a nearby beach from the age of five until thirteen and as a result has a deep tan on his skin. He loves to swim and watch the creatures of the ocean and though he comes off as a bit distant at first, he is astonishingly intelligent. He recently has been spending more and more time in an undersea cavern that leads into a cavern deep beneath the surface of the ocean. The cavern itself has water channels and tunnels that go through the cavern as well as a couple of hot spring pools he often uses to bathe.
He left the 'surface' as he calls it after hearing that his sister was raped and killed while his father was in a drunken stupor a year and a half ago. He went to the sea and simply started swimming, eventually stumbling upon his new home. Due to the pressure of where the cavern is located, his muscles have grown denser and stronger in addition to his natural talent for holding his breath for surprising amounts of time, managing to hold his breath for as long as twelve minutes without showing any strain whatsoever.

Aoi Mizushima is a mermaid who left her home when she was sixteen, which was two years eariler. She had just reached the small chain of islands located in the clear, pristine waters of the sea in which they were named after, The Konpeki Sea. Aoi was far from home and was near the Island of Gin Iruka and she had no plans of returning home now nor any time soon. Her curiosity got the better of her and she then decided to swim closer to the island. Once she felt she was close enough to the island she surfaced, looking around at the beach, wondering what it would be like to spend even one day on land. As she looked around she noticed some rocks coming up out of the water that were rather close to the shoreline. Aoi swam over to them and pulled herself onto one of the larger rocks. She wasn't thinking about the chance of being seen by anyone and closed her eyes, relaxing, enjoying the feeling of the warm morning sun dancing on her skin.{{ooc: I hope this is a good enough start XD I actually used what I had from when I first started this RP and I wasn't much of an RPer then. i can type a lot more per post now XD}}

Alexis surfaced, his dark red hair glittering in the sunlight as he shifted the mask he wore from his mouth and nose; it was a plain gray mask with two vertical slits on either side of his mouth and an inverted V where his nose went. It allowed him to filter oxygen from the seawater, though he could easily hold his breath to swim from the cavern to the surface. His gaze shifted along the waterline, his silvery eyes narrowing ever so slightly as he swam towards the island of Kinfugu, as his cavern was halfway between Gin Iruka and Kinfugu.

Aoi was resting her eyes and a smile smile came to her face as she enjoyed the warmth of the sun lapping her skin. She knew that she could not stay there for too long or she'd be seen, but that didn't seem all that bad really. she actually wanted to be seen, though she had to be careful of just who saw her. So when she felt that she had been out of the water long enough she dove back into the crystal clear water and started swimming further out into the water, not wanting to risk exposure. However, as she swam she saw something moving in the water in the distance. Her curiosity was burning through her, but she was also afraid to see what it was. She figured that she was close enough to this being that she could possibly signal it by slapping her tail against the surface of the water; seeing that the water was extremely calm. Holding her breath for a moment she slammed her tail against the surface before resurfacing up to her shoulders, waiting to see if the splash was heard. But she was ready to swim off if there was any chance of trouble, which she was very good at getting herself into.

_Hoshiyuri_ OOC - I had the idea that Alexis' great-great-grandfather was Atlantean (think Aquaman), making Alexis more than human, though the only advantages he knows he has at the moment is resistance/endurance to undersea pressures, enhanced strength, and the ability to hold one's breath for extended periods. He has no idea of his lineage, since it was passed down from his mother's side of the family and he obviously can't ask them as they're all dead. Alexis paused, hearing a splash before shrugging and swimming onward towards the island, which for the most part was abandoned to nature. Gin Iruka was more likely to have other humans on it, though it was Eidōffu that had the most in the area, and unfortunately it was also the largest island in addition to its twin Eidōyari, the latter of which had several small tribes of cannibals on it.
His silver eyes shifted, blocking the sun with one hand as he hooked the mask to his leather and coral belt. Beneath the water he wore only a pair of tight black pants that fell to his knees and sealskin sandals he'd made from scavenging a seal corpse.

Whoever was out there heard the splash, but apparantly wasn't intersted, though she was curious and she wanted to see if they were friendly or not. if they weren't then she would just go back into the water and not turn back; even if she was tired of running away from others. Going underwater just enough to cover her she made her way in the direction that the person or whatever it was went. She decided that splashing would not work so she called out after surfacing again. Her long bluish purple hair glimmered in the sunlight and her teal eyes sparkled as she waited for a reply if any from whoever was swimming away from her.{{ooc: That sounds interesting ^^ It sounds like it could definately add to the story too smile Last time I did an RP that was similar to this one it didn't really get anywhere, so I think that may be why it died so fast.}}

Alexis dove beneath the water, swimming deep before he grunted a low curse, bubbles slipping from his mouth before he realized blood was seeping from a cut on his shoulder and upper arm. He slid the mask on over his mouth and nose, absently realizing that he could breathe through the mask, so it was possible he could also speak beneath the water. His gaze shifted to the outlines of three carved canoes, realizing that some of the natives were on the move, though whether they were of the usual tribal fishermen or of the cannibalistic tribes he wasn't sure; he knew he was deep enough beneath the surface to not be immediately visible. "Damn it," he muttered, realizing his voice was clearly audible but with a slight raspy note to it due to the mask. He could see a couple of fishing spears being retrieved, though he was cautious of showing himself.

Swimming closer Aoi noticed that the person had taken a dive under the water. She noticed that there were people on one of the shores and she wanted to get closer, but when she saw spears her heart stopped for a breif moment; those were not people that she would like to be around, so she decided to dive after the one that had dove underwater first. Her curiosity had gotten the better of her and she was going to follow this person or whatever it was until she found out. She was a fast swimmer so she did not think that she would have much trouble outswimming it and if it needed to breathe then that would give her the advantage if she had to get away. yet there was not telling if they would need to breathe or how long they could stay underwater. Calling out again she swam ever closer to the being that had stolen her attention.{{ooc:}}

Alexis paused, hearing a feminine voice as he turned in the water, seeing a girl with light bluish purple hair, almost like lavender with sky blue streaks in it, and deep teal eyes swimming towards him; he blinked, noticing that she wasn't swimming with legs, but with a fish tail. Huh, a mermaid, he thought, his silvery eyes seeming to gather the ambient light and glow slightly beneath his dark reddish bronze hair though he didn't know this detail. "Hello," he said, his voice soft and slightly distant in nature as he spoke.

Noticing the figure, that she had now realised was human, pause she stopped and smiled at him. she did not know if he'd try hurting her, but his reply didn't seem to hold anything that may make her think that he was a threat. She then swam closer, but kept her distance. "Hello." She said a bit hesitantly. She knew not much at all about humans, other than what her father and others had said, so she was going to be careful and ready to swim off if she needed to.{{ooc:}}

_Hoshiyuri_ OOC - Interesting fact about Alexis' words, a fact I did not know until I checked it from curiosity. Alexis smiled faintly beneath the mask. "To think, I was going for some coconut 'milk', only to end up nearly as someone's fillet," he sighed as he shrugged, shifting his fingers on the long cut on his shoulder and upper arm as wisps of reddish mist, his own blood, leaked out into the water. "Now I have little choice but to go back before sharks show up, and the tool I have with me isn't that impressive," he sighed as he shifted, the bone-and-coral tool that looked like a kama with a twisted tip, swaying into sight from the small of his back. He swam deeper, not seeming bothered by the increasing depths or pressure on his body, and he actually wasn't bothered by it. Thanks to the mask, he had no need to surface for air. "I've always wondered why they call the watery juice in coconuts 'milk' though it looks more like water than milk," he said thoughtfully, forgetting the fact that even speaking softly, his voice was clearly audible due to sound traveling six times faster in the water than air.

Aoi looked at the man and she realised that he was hurt when he touched his shoulder and blood swirled in the water. She had heard his words and she thought that it was hard to believe that eh was about to become someone's food, when there had only been humans that she had seen. "Someone's fillet? How...? And what's coconut milk...?" she replied, curious. She heard shark and she tensed up immediately. She had dealt with sharks, though she had nearly been killed several times due to shark attacks that she had just barely escaped from. "I could... try binding that if you'd like and I could try getting you some fish too... If you'd like?" she asked, looking at the man thoughtfully. For the first human that she ever met this one seemed to be nice, though she was not going to let her guard down because she knew that there was always that chance that this was his part of his plan. There were some merfolk that were seductive and siren-like, though Aoi was not one of them and she was curious to see if there were humans that could be like that, though she'd just have to wait and see what would happen with this human.{{ooc: I'm going to have to get going, though I should probably be online tomorrow ^^ And this Rp, for just starting out, is actually turning out really good ^^}}

Alexis tilted his head, interest in his eyes before he glanced upward. "Fishing parties; they tend to toss spears into the water to catch fish... as to the coconut milk, I have some in my 'home'," he said with a shrug. "That would be nice... some kelp would work well as a bandage," he said with a half smile. He could tell from watching her out of the corner of his eye that she was deep in thought, though he didn't intend to manipulate her.

Aoi snapped from her muses as she heard the man speaking. She didn't like the sound of people tossing spears into the water for fish. She knew of many ways to catch fish without carelessly flinging spears about to get fish. She thought of nets that were used in one place that she had surfaced and thought they'd be a good way to catch fish without having to hurt them, though she knew that they'd eventually be killed if they were to be eaten. After hearing that this human had some coconut milk in his home she smiled and thought that it would be nice for her to try some. She wasn't entirely sure what this 'coconut milk' was, but she thought that she would at least try it, as to not be rude to this human that seemed to be rather kind. "I could get some kelp. There's actually some right over there. Hold on right there... Oh, you can go to the surface if you have to breathe, since I know that humans can't breathe underwater like merfolk can." she said before quickly going and getting some kelp. She came back and waited for permission to check the wound and bind it because she knew that some people were touchy about others just tending to their wounds, even if they may have seemed like they wanted to have their wounds cleaned and dressed.{{ooc:}}
