She must wears special headphones that allow her drown out the excess sound or else it would all seem like a blur of loud noise. The headphones also permit her to better focus her telepathic energy when communicating with others mentally. She is also very gifted in martial art, but that comes from years of practice.

Biography: Florence Basset was born in Salvador, Brazil, which is how she earned the nickname Salva, but she moved frequently around the world due to her parents being doctors. They worked in poor cities and took care of those who could not afford proper medical attention, and Florence was very happy with them and her brother, who was seven years older and her role model. Things went well for her family until one day when Florence was seven, she snuck away from the hotel they were staying in to play in a nearby river with a few of the local children. She caught an ear infection which left her deaf, and this caused her to become depressed; she stopped eating and going outside and became very weak.

During this time her brother, who DJ'd as a hobby, would play music and have her touch the speakers so she could feel the beat. He also taught her martial arts, so she could gain some strength and be able to defend herself. Florence idolized her brother and wanted to be just like him, and everyone they met adored him since he was a gifted student, athletic, and a well rounded young man. Because he was very skilled, he was asked to train with the National Space Army, who were working on protecting the humans who were colonizing Mars. This was a great honor because only the best of the best could join the army, and Florence promised herself she would work hard and one day be able to join and fight alongside her brother. Soon after she told her parents she wanted to attend school permanently, so they sent her to a private school in London, but life there was not as great as she thought. Many of the students were rich and snobbish and could not understand why her parents would want to work with the less fortunate. Also, since Florence was deaf, she communicated using sign language, but most of the kids thought she was weird and did not try to get to know her. She spent most of her time in the art room making pottery because she liked how the cley felt and the control she had.

On her 13th birthday she was allowed to skip school in order to see her brother at the NSA base in Austin, Texas. It had been three years since she had last seen him, and he told her that some scientist on Mars developed a way for her to get her hearing back. It was not a sure thing, and the solution was still in a testing phase, but Florence still wanted the operation. The damage done to the cells in her ears were repaired and a liquid mixture of Martian rock elements and other chemicals was inserted into her ears. Florence regained her hearing, but she noticed she could hear more than the average person including their thoughts. It was fun at first but as the days progressed, the noises around her intensified until they became one big ball of crowded sound. She returned to the NSA base and was given special headphones that permitted her to focus the sound and silence extra noise.

Florence continued to attend the private school in London, but she knew she would never fit in, especially now with her special abilities. She told her parents this on the day they came to visit her, and they informed her of Virtual High and how it would be a better school for her. She researched the school and figured her parents were right and a week later, she transferred out of the private school and ingo Virtual High.

Personality: Florence is a "does not take no for an answer" type of girl who can be pretty stubborn and outspoken. She is very determined and driven, especially when she has a specific goal in mind and can become very passionate about things. She loves to interact with people although her previous school did not give her a chance to really practice her social skills, but she does not like to see people alone or sad, and she attempts to help others as much as she can. She is no saint and there are times where her moral compass may waver, but in the end she tries to do what is right.
