Scouting: Girl Scouts has been a part of Carlee's life since she can really remember. She started as a Daisy Scout and now she's passed Brownies and moved all the way up to Juniors! She loves going to scout meetings and going camping and earning badges and helping people and just everything. There is no greater joy in Carlee's life than the end of cookie season, after all you get a patch based on how many cookies you sell, and not to mention the prizes that you can get from selling the most!
ASL: Growing up as a CODA (Child of deaf adults) has left Carlee with a very great knowledge of American Sign Language. She often uses it along with normal spoken English, as ASL was her first language. One day she fancies becoming an interpreter, or doing something with the language. She wants to live up to her wonderful ability of being the bridge between her parents and the outside world. Of course, her brother has the same ability, but most often now that he’s older, the task really falls on her, and she’s pleased as punch to help. Carlee doesn’t hesitate to try and teach ASL to anyone who is willing to learn, she already has her girl scout troop knowing quite a few phrases in it, after all!
Irish Step Dancing: With a head full of curls like she has, Irish Step Dancing was clearly just made for Carlee! When she was a Daisy scout, the troop went to a performance to see a group of step dancers and Carlee was hooked from the get-go. The beauty of the costumes and the way that the girls just jumped and how their feet moved, almost like it was floating. She went home that day and begged her parents to let her start up lessons, and so she did. It was a great way to get all of the exercise that she needed and now she participates in competitions and just loves every moment. After scouting, dancing is her all time favorite activity ever. Period.
Virtues:
Diligent: Carlee makes sure that everything she does is done with the upmost care and the most attention that she can proved. She doesn’t like to do anything halfway, and as such takes a bit of a longer time with tasks, going for quality rather than quantity. Sure, this may mean she doesn’t have as many patches as Betsy-Sue over there, but you can bet she worked as hard as she could for the ones she does have. She doesn’t like to give out any sloppy results, so working hard is just the thing to do, always.
Ambitious: Carlee strives to be the best at whatever she’s doing with her life, be it earning patches or dancing. She will push herself to whatever it takes to get the trophy or patch. The word ‘quit’ isn’t in her dictionary and she doesn’t care how long a task takes, so long as it’s done well and done right. One day she will make sure she is the best and gets the most out of her life. She always reminds herself that you only get out of life what you put into it!
Helpful: Just because she wants to be the best doesn’t mean that Carlee doesn’t want everyone else to be the best they can be too. She loves to help her fellow dancers and scouts figure things out, figuring that if she helps them, she can better herself in the mean time! Besides, when you help someone, that help gets returned to you ten-fold, so if she is the most helpful person she knows, one day it’ll all come back to help her again! It’s the biggest win-win situation that she’s ever thought of. She will do anything to help her friends out, no matter what!
Flaws:
Shy: Carlee has always been a shy girl, and this has been a rather crippling thing for her to deal with, especially with her two favorite activities being so socially out there. Once she gets to know someone, her shyness does go away, but when she first meets a group of people, Carlee will clam up and will most often hide behind the first person that she sees and knows. Sometimes she will even feign that she can’t hear, playing deaf and using sign language at the person to try to shoo them away. She is trying very hard to get past her shyness, but so far nothing really seems to kickstart her out of it when she gets an episode.
Disorganized: Stuff. Stuff everywhere. On a scale from one to ten concerning organization, Carlee is at a negative three. She loses things all the time, and is constantly making too many plans to fit into her schedule. Her mother has tried to help by buying her planners and date books, but all that has ever done was add to the clutter. She has missed too many things due to her poor planning and organizing skills, and when she has the unfortunate horror of losing a friend…it mostly comes from too many broken plans with them. She is trying hard to work on this too…but she just can’t ever seem to find the time!
Judgmental: Carlee likes to think of herself as a very good person. Someone with a lot of good hobbies who really likes to help people, and when she meets someone who isn’t like that, who is lazy or just doesn’t like to try and but themselves out…she gets moody with them. Her reactions vary from making faces at them, to just being kind of mean! She doesn’t seem to find any fault with these reactions either, since clearly she is the better person, for if she wasn’t…she wouldn’t be acting this way in the first place! This behavior can make Carlee seem quite rude and standoffish sometimes. You know, when you’re not as wonderful and perfect as she is. Or as she thinks she is.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Dark purple
Hair: Medium brown and curly as anything. Almost like Merida’s type of curly, but not nearly as long—how on earth would you manage curly hair that long?
Face: Freckles across her nose and cheeks and up her arms. She likes being out in the sun, and she freckles much more than she tans
