Note: This is a back RP from when we realized Dante's domain was already taken and he wouldn't be able to keep it. I had obtained permission for him to have had the sun domain and fall... but we fell out of the habit of RPing these two around that time and are only hopping back on it now. Ignore his cert. I'm having it replaced.

They had reached his home range with no further trouble. Had been spending much of her time just resting, leaving Dante with a lot of time to spend on his own. Most of this time he was spending patrolling his regular range. Getting back in touch with the local wildlife and the land helped to calm his nerves somewhat. Time ticked relentlessly onward whether he was ready for it or not, but in a way, that was comforting too. Nothing had really changed since he’d left. Though he was welcome, the woods weren’t dependent on him. They would continue to grow and thrive. Always finding a way to survive.
His walk had brought him back around to the willow he called home. It was old and thick. It’s branches kept out most of the rain in the spring, and all of the snow when winter fell. Best of all it’s age meant he could fit his bulk inside quite comfortably.
He nudged aside a few of the soft leafy branches with his nose so he could peer inside.

Ravyn was lying under the willow in a patch of dappled sunlight. Her eyes were closed and there was a small smile on her face. Her wing was almost healed. She would test it soon. Things with Dante were going well too, or so she thought. He still got on her nerves sometimes, but not as often as before.

Seeing her laying there made him smile. She was incredibly beautiful. The fact that she refused to accept this was more frustrating than anything. He had to trust that in time, she would come around to the fact on her own and stop being such an insufferable dunce about it. As he couldn’t tell if she was sleeping or not, he backed out of the willow without bothering to say hello and turned to make his way down to the stream for a drink. Once his thirst was quenched he waded out into the water, singing an old song about a long standing battle between the sun and moon.

Hearing Dante's song, Ravyn opened her eyes and her smile widened. His voice was quite beautiful. Carefully she got to her feet, wary of her injured wing. Once she was steady, she headed down toward the river, following Dante's voice. "Hello~"

“Good morning to you,” he returned a moment after finishing a line about the fruitlessness about the whole thing. “Come bath that wing of yours. I’m sure it would appreciate a nice long soak. The water’s calm and warm~”
He moved out a little deeper in the water so she could take the shallow spot near the shore if she so desired.

Ravyn smiled at him and made her way down the shore. "It looks very nice," she said as she tested the water with one foot. It was just as he said, so she stepped daintily into the water. "Did you have a good morning?"

"As good a morning as one could reasonably expect, I suppose," there was no point burdening her with his darker thoughts. "I made a wide patrol of my forests and everything seems to be much the way I left it.

"That's good," Ravyn said, smiling contentedly as she gently slid her wing under the water. Dante was right. It felt so good to soak it. "I missed you when I woke," she admitted softly.

He smiled at that. "If you want to wake while I'm still there you'll need to begin rising with the-" the words caught in this throat, and he fell silent a moment. "Well, early, anyhow."

"You get up too early," she teased, coming over to stand beside him, gently nudging him with her nose.

“I rise at just the right time, no sooner, no later,” he grinned. “You on the other hoof need as much rest as you can get to help heal that wing.” He lowered his head caressing her neck, “The feathers in your hair have become crumpled. Where do you normally take them from? Your own wings?”

"I have been resting for too long," Ravyn murmured, stretching her neck out so he would have better access to rubbing it. She closed her eyes, making a pleased noise. "Ah--yes," she said, glancing back at him. "They are my own feathers."

"The feathers on your wings don't look much better," he frowned.

Ravyn frowned a bit at that, obviously taking offense to his words. "Well, there is not much I can do about that right now. Not all of us look perfect always."
