Alright so perhaps it was his ...pride that was getting the better of him, but after that humiliating turn of events with the rodent and his belly still empty there...was only one thing he felt that could satisfy his taste buds and that was the fekarat. So despite his ..pride he was intent on killing the little vermin. Every time he thought it wasn't worth the antagonizing annoyance of trying to snap at the creature..it somehow in its own silent way managed to infuriate him.
Like it was silently mocking him with those large eyes, that flick of its tail...before it lept to the tree next to it as if trying to taunt him into a chase. The inner beast within him wanted to give chase, but he was better than that, he was no mindless beast that would just mindlessly chase after a small and insignificant animal as that. So he tried to ignore it, he even went to hunt other animals but every time he was hunting, in the middle of a stalk that..thing seemed to always be there. Sitting there in a tree watching him.
Grasping the bark, chewing on nuts...and other things that he presumed it ate, all the while staring at him with those great big eyes. Why was that? It made him stumble, or miss when he took aim to bring down a creature. It was getting to him, the irony being he had just done the same thing only days before to a different creature...though he had done it on purpose...and he doubted that this little brainless thing was able to think that sophisticated. So he tried to ignore it and when he didn't seem able to catch anything substantial...toadiles and frogers weren't exactly what he would call filling they kept him going.
Drinking water at a pool he had discovered recently one of his many failed hunts he noticed...the creature coming down from the tree, it was hesitant and for good reason but bold. It came to the opposite side of the pond and began to drink quickly and in earnest. The firani drakien lifted his head slowly and watched it. Upon closer inspection the creature was a nervous sort. It clicked its tail...an indication of how agitated it was. So at least it was...nervous of his presence.
That gloating he had imagined..was that just. Imaginary. It was just a nervous creature and...
With a shift of his footing it bolted back up the tree.
Fast.
Taking a moment to actually watch it, he learned quite a bit. It was nervous, and it was fast. It didn't come to the ground unless it absolutely had to...like when it came for a drink. A slim grin spread across his face. It was the forming of a plan, he could bide his time lull the fekarat into a false sense of security. Yes...all he needed...was some time and some nuts. Then...to catch it...while it was on the ground.
