He picked the day and it was a day with good weather that was going to turn bad, he had left his targeted Ysali dragon along for a few days so he would go back to his regular routine without being so jumpy at every shadow. This also gave the firani drakien enough time to plan out his attack. It was...bound to be easier..and more fun if he could drive the Ysali dragon insane before killing it. To see that wild look in its eyes, that look that would plead for him to end it all.
This hunt would take a series of days to complete, this time...he made sure that he was seen. But only glimpses...caught in the peripheral vision or one time caught in the reflection of a pond. Oh how he had loved that set up. The dragon had been edgy all day, it had taken it most of the day to finally build the courage to go to the watering hole it was dusk the lighting was perfect. As the dragon lapped up the water he stood on the opposite side, the only thing you could really see was his dark form with his glowing green eyes.
The moment the ysali dragon looked up however he was gone. But the damaged was done, the dragon's nerves were unraveling and by that night it was time for him to strike. Th dragon himself hadn't eaten in days, the fact he was wasting away meant that his brain was already being fried and his countless taunts only helped loosen the bolts on its sanity. If it hadn't been for the bit of water it had drank it would of been completely useless at this point.
Tucked away in a cave the drakien was jumping at every single sound, echo or not. Even the sound of its own heart beat seemed to be making it even more unnerved. Perfect the thing had no where to go and he could watch as fear would unravel its nerves even faster. He wished that it could of been perfect weather for this..a little lightning..thunder perhaps would of made this entire kill even more perfect.
Standing just outside of the cave entrance he felt the wind breath into it and letting out a little flame he chuckled, it started off softly before picking up in volume. Slowly he stalked inside, his eyes the only light available as his body blocked the dying light coming from outside. He could hear the dragon inside, the scrap of its claws as it scrambled into a stand position it belched out a blast of fire in his direction but it was a sloppy attack and he was able to dodge the attack quite easily.
There was another belch of fire this time completely off the mark and by the time the dragon knew where he was..it was too late. A strike of teeth at the throat..and the deed was done.
