Senja had snuck away from her tribes home to a waterfall nearby. Her little sister was, again, begin adorable and everything her parents wanted and Senja was rather tired of being shown up by her. She knew that Chantuer's voice was much better than hers, but she also knew that she could dance and play the pipes better.. but apparently the voice mattered more to her father and it irked her a lot.
So she slunk off to dance and play her music where she wouldn't have to be compared to Chantuer; the wilds outside the village. Though nearby enough that she was safe from most predators. She loved to play her many chambered pipes to the sound of falling water and today found her on top of the waterfall spinning and dancing along the rocky edge as her pipes cheerfully sang out a fast paced tune that weaved in and out of the sounds of the waterfall.

In her family exploring and getting lost was encouraged. After all you could find inspiration for a new song, or see movement that helped you think of a new dance. The possibilities were endless. So today that was what Niadra was doing, getting lost. Her family had done a show for a group of shifters the night before, and it would be two days before they were off again. That meant Niadra had plenty of time to get lost before they had to leave.
As she danced through the forest a sound caught her ears. It was pipes! And whoever was playing them was certainly talented with them! She had never been able to pick up an instrument. She could sing and dance, but for some reason no matter how much her father tried to teach her an instrument in her hands was just as useless as a weapon.
Niadra danced towards the music, and as she was getting use to the tempo she started to make up a song for it. Soon she was at the waterfall and spotted the person behind the music. Rather then startle her the leaf girl just kept singing and dancing a little distance from the shifter. It seemed like it was her lucky day!

Senja was absorbed in her dancing, until she heard someone singing along with her. She then, careful to keep her balance and to keep playing, danced towards the singer, who she saw was also dancing. Music and dancing always made her happy, so she'd gotten over the majority of her sulk already, and this got rid of the rest. Someone new who also danced and sang!
As she stopped in front of her fellow dancer, she ended her pipe playing. "Hi there!" She chirped cheerfully as she looked at the newcomer. She looked at the leaf girl and checked out the differences. She'd encountered one pair of leaf people before on her brief adventure into Tale for treasure, but she hadn't had a lot of time to get to know them. Now was her chance! And possibly, she hoped, this girl could give her tips on making songs. She could play music, but she couldn't make up lyrics to songs.
"I'm Senja, I live near here, who're you?"

Niadra smiled at the shifter. "Your really talented with those pipes! What I would give for half of your talent with them." she said excitedly with a whistle. She bowed at the waist before continuing.
"It's nice to meet you Senja. My name is Niadra, my family are traveling performers and merchants. We had a show the night before, but are staying around for two more days so I thought I'd explore a bit when I heard your beautiful pipes and I just had to come check out where the noise was coming from." she said with a laugh. "I was surprised to see that you not only could play but you danced as well!" she might just have to see if this girl wanted to come with her family when they left. They could always use a skilled pipe player, especially one who was pretty and could dance.

Senja blushed and giggled at the compliment. "Thanks! You've got a real good voice too! Mine's so-so, I've always wanted to be able to sing real good but my talents lie elsewhere." She sighed, maybe if her parents put less emphasis on a beautiful voice she wouldn't have minded as much....
She shifted her weight from foot to foot, her body still eager to move about. "What's it like traveling all the time? I've never gone very far from Neued before."

Niadra laughed. "Ah it seems as if we have traits that compliment each other." That was pretty cool, it made her wish that Senja did come with them when they left! They could make their own little show, people would come from everywhere to see the two of them. She came back from her little mini day dream with a smile.
"It's nice. I mean sometimes I wished I have a home I could go to, a room of my own, but we have a family friend whos house I fancy as my own." she smiled when thinking of Nyiim. "What is it like staying in one place? How are you to share your talents if you don't go far?" she asked curiously.

Senja hadn't looked at traveling like that. No home to call your own, no where to return to? That would seem.. lonely? Lost? Something, that Senja couldn't come up with a word for but could kinda understand. But it also sounded fun free; two things Senja that loved. At Niadra's question she paused and stopped moving for a second. How would she spread er name and talent?
"Um, hadn't thought about that actually.. I know Da leaves every now and then to travel, but mostly the most of us stay here and play for the people of Neued. Guess I think that we just stay here and others hear of us and come visit? That's.. rather .. boring sounding now that I think about it." She thought some more on it as her hand came up to twirl a strand of hair.
"But maybe... Hmm. My parents never did say anything about letting me go out and travel to learn more or spread our name... but they never said I couldn't either..." A smile appeared on her face and her eyes gleamed. To travel away from Neued, to see other dances, musics and people! Oh she wished she could! But would her parents let her?

It was if the other girl was reading her thoughts! She wanted to come with them! Oh how fun it would be, Niadra had never had any siblings but if this girl came with them maybe they could become like sisters? Sure they were from different races, but they got along so well and were around the same age!
"Do you think they would be okay with it! If you want my parents can talk to them? Assure them that we have been doing this forever and that you would be safe with us. We even have guards with us just in case, plus we are all trained at least a little in how to defend ourselves. Or maybe I could try to talk to them! Then if anything we could use my parents as back up?"
Oh this was a grand idea!

Senja was excited, a chance to leave Neued with others and see the world and learn! She was so not going to mist this opportunity! She grabbed Niadra's hand and began pulling her in the direction of her house. "Lets go talk to my parents right now! They're in a good mood cause my little sister just did a good job on her first solo performance for non-family so they should be easy to convince. If they say no we can always bring in yours to convince!" She waved her hand excitedly as she pulled Niadra along, all sulking over the unfairness of her littlest sister's lovely voice gone. "Ah! Can't believe I have a chance to leave this place and go out to see the world and other types of dance and music!"

And at once Niadra was being pulled in a direction by Senja. She laughed, happy going with the girl with no resistance. "Sounds good to me! I can be pretty convincing." she said with a laugh. Okay so she wasn't the most convincing person, so was better at showing things rather then talking about them, but then again how hard could it be! Plus, like she told Senja if anything happened she always could get her parents to talk to Senja's parents!
"It will be so much fun! We are always learning new things, meeting new kinds of people! No matter how amazing you are, you always get better while learning." she said with a smile. That was something that her mother always told her.
"I think we are having another show before we leave. If they don't think it would be best for you then maybe you can practice with us and then preform? Once they see you how well you preform then they won't be able to tell you no!" she said happily.

Senja laughed, "Of course it's going to be fun! I've always loved it when traveling bards and gypsy's came through. They were nice enough to teach me while they were here. Now I get a chance to be one of them! Oh I can't wait!" Senja lead Niiadra trough the jungle into the village and towards a large round building fairly low in the trees. Pointing at it she said, "They should be in there since that's where Chantuer had her little performance. They always stay late after to discuss what the performer did right or wrong and give tips, so we should be able to catch them!" She dropped Niadra's hand and began to climb the tree before realizing that perhaps Niadra wasn't as skilled at tree climbing since she wasn't a shifter. "Ah, need help getting up here? Or can you do it yourself? I remember the stories say that you don't live in large jungles so..."
The tree was fairly large and had grooves that she could use to climb as well as smaller branches jutting out every now and then. Most shifters just climbed it, but there was a ladder made of vine ropes tied up on the walkway around the building for those who couldn't climb. It was tied up since the majority of people that visited were shifters.

"Now they can teach you all the time since your one of them! And everywhere we go we can learn new things from new people." she said with a smile. She followed Senja, nodding and smiling at the people that they passed on the way. Some of them had schocked faces, but for the most part they smiled back. How nice of them!
She was a little surprised wen they stopped. And was looking up at the tree when Senja started to climb. She smiled up at the other girl. "Some of us live in trees as well, the place I consider my home is in a tree so I can climb. I just won't be as fast as you are." she replied happily. She was always in awe of how fast the shifters climbed up and down the trees. It was amazing really. Not wanting to slow down their progress any more then she would by being a slow climber. She started after Senja, being careful where she was placing her feet. Slowly but surely she was getting closer to the top.

Senja reached the walkway and waited for Niadra to catch up. Since she didn't want help, then Senja would let her climb. No sense in offending her by telling her to use the ladder! Once Niadra reached the top, Sneja did offer a hand up for her to get on to the walk way.
Once Niadra was up on the walk way, Senja jumped up and dashed off around the corner. "This way!" She giggled and called back over her shoulder.
She raced around the curve and ran for the entry way. throwing aside the bead curtains that hung in the doorway, she stopped for a second and blinked in the rooms darkened interior. Once her eyes had adjusted, she spotted her father looking at her with a raised eyebrow and resigned expression from the edge of the group around her little sister. This wasn't the first time she'd dashed in excited about something random that he didn't quite understand why she was so excited. "Da! Da! Can I go and travel with the traveling troupe of merchants and musicians? I made a new friend too! Niadra's part of the group! Oh please Da, say yes!" Senja burst out, not waiting to collect her thoughts and try to approach the subject calmly and think up reasons or arguments.
Her father sighed. So she'd managed to hear about them? He knew that each time a group visited that Senja always had to go and be with them for a while. Not a bad thing, but he didn't want his daughter to go off into the wild with a group of people he didn't know! Which he figured would happen one day when she finally decided she wanted to go out and explore.. he knew that Senja had itchy feet that wanted to go traveling. But was this the correct time and group to do so?

She was happy that Senja didn't say anything else as they climbed, she was a little embarrassed but made sure not to show it. However when Senja offered her hand down Niadra took it gratefully. That was her work out for the day, and she didn't even want to think about getting back down.
Niadra laughed as she raced after Senja. She understood the girl being excited, and it was more contagious. The whole way they were running and it was almost like a game, she could forget that she had a purpose and not just hanging out with a girl her age.
She almost ran into Senja when the girl stopped, and the darkness caught her a little off guard. She was use to be outside, so the darkness surprised her a little. Sure she had been in a room before, she was in Nyiim's all the time, however each time it still startled her. It also took her a little longer for her eyes to adjust since she wasn't use to it. When they did adjust it seemed there were more people in the room then she thought there would be. Oh well, it was still all good.
Niadra waved at Senja's family when her name was mentioned. "Hello. My family would be more then happy to take her with us. Senja is very talented, and we can always use talented people. We have guards that come with us everywhere, so she would be safe." she said happily. She wasn't sure what else she needed to say.

Senja bounced from one foot to the other. " I'd be safe Da! It'd be much better than gong off by myself like I've been thinking of doing! Plus," Her eyes narrowed as she thought quickly, "If I leave with this group, you can concentrate on getting Chaunter trained more like you've been meaning too. The hours you have set aside for me to be taught could go to her and the twins! Win win, right?" Jumea and Kumea, Senja's twin brothers laughed. "Trying to get out of lessons are you?" "Bet there's a cute guy that caught her eye!""Did not! I met Niadra and we talked and I'd like to go!" She laughed and stuck her tongue out at her brothers. "You just don't want me gone so that Ma will start concentrating on you more!"Senja's father sighed and put a hand over his eyes. Why did his middle children have to be so active?Muskier looked up and nodded at Senja and Niadra, "I'll not say no or yes right now. Let me go talk to your family Niadra, and then I will give my answer." He got up and walked towards the door, "We'll continue the critique after dinner Chanuter, if you'd go home right now with your brothers and help her with the chores..." He looked over his shoulder and pointed at the twins. " Don't go sneaking off like you usually do! And Senja, if you'd stay in tow so I can find you easily..." He walked out of the tree house and towards the troupes camp. It would be nice to be able to concentrate on the twins and Chantuer's training.... Senja wasn't going to be the best singer anytime soon and she'd reached a point in her dancing where it'd be best for her to be exposed to other techniques.. And it'd be quieter about the place after she left.. Senja bounced up and down after her father and siblings had left, "He's actually thinking about it! Oh I hope he says yes!!"
