xxxxxxT H E _ F O R G O T T E N _ S K I R M I S H E S

As you are well aware of, the Isle of Azreth has been on the virge of Civil War. Azrein under Mal'Abu have attacked and killed several Azrein bound to Humans, and many others. This attack led to a time of depression and great loss.

Events have happened since then, but what exactly happened?

This is where you come in. In teams of 1 to 5, we need your help.

Our Archivist has got quite behind in his work and is in desperate need of help recalling all that has happened in the history of the Island. Right now, he's scratching his brain trying to remember about the five skirmishes that have happened between The Fallen Heroes Fell, and now, The Start of the Azreth Civil War.

For each of the five skirmish we need to know:

Who was involved?
xxxxxx/ / . Number of Good/Evil/Neutral Azrein
xxxxxx/ / . Were there humans involved?
xxxxxx/ / . What were their alignment?
xxxxxx/ / . Why were they there?

Why did it take place?
xxxxxx/ / . Something brief, something that a Historian would look at and go ' Oh! I get it!'

Where did it take place?
xxxxxx/ / . ... yes. Look at the map. It is shiny and tells mostly of what is going on. Staff will answer questions about the terrain if you have any.

How did it all play out?
xxxxxx/ / . Details would be great, but try to keep it simple and under the PG-13 rating of Gaia.

Who was considered the 'victor'?
xxxxxx/ / . Battles are bloody, some battles have no victor, but sometimes there is.
xxxxxx/ / . What side is 'winning' after these skirmises and what is the retaliation plan of the 'loser'?

What the name of the Skirmish is and Why?

We will be awarding Stat points this time around.

1st Place: 15 Stat points to be distributed between the stats of an azrein of your choice
2nd Place: 10 Stat points to be distributed between the stats of an azrein of your choice
3rd Place: 7 Stat Points to be distributed between the stats of an azrein of your choice
4th, 5th Place: 3 Stat points to be distributed between the stats of an azrein of your choice.

* If a team with more than one person places, all the team members will have that number of points to distribute to their azrein. You will need to elect a team leader. It is the leader's responsibility to notify the rest of the winning team members. *

Forgotten skirmishes- not sure if I was supposed to post here or not.
Who was involved?
-Tiburnon Meer
-Cardinal Alfonse Amadeus
-Me’urra
-Sharsa
-Nocturne Shadowspirit
-Sumac Gartha
-Garth Andvari- technically he was made after the war started but storyline wise he would have just been recruited.
-Dome Menel Alu-lote
-Luin Olos Ithil Mallen
-Losa Tincmaeg

Why did it take place?

The skirmish took place as a training exercise against living humans and azerin in a small trade town due the unlikeliest possibility of real treat to new weaker members of the six who had less brains in their heads than rocks in their hooves.

Where did it take place?
village location
Village map
The village of Forlu *had it approved by Pudds a long long time ago*

How did it all play out?

Tiburnon was told to take Me’urra, Cardinal and a few other members of the herd out on a training mission to go and eliminate a few of the human scum who lived up north. Sharsa and Nocturne came to follow pretending to be ‘prospective’ members of the herd but not yet a part of it. They all crossed the river in the Southern Field and quietly crept north in the Greater Heard Plains to swing at the little human settlement from the side of the village facing the King’s city so that it would be the greatest surprise and the humans would be forced to flee either north into the dangerous Freysain woods or south into Greater Herds plains lest they wished to be smashed against the water’s edge. Sharsa however was to approach the village following the river’s edge. Since she had been there before her appearance in the village would raise no suspicion. She would then bite through to untie and let the trader’s boats that were often docked in the village drift away so the water would not be the human’s escape. Me’urra was supposed to kill the human who lived in the shop outside of town while Cardinal was to take care of the tanner. Me’urra approached the shop the evening before the attack to take care of the task early and be done with it all when he found the shock of his live. Losa Tincmaeg the filly his mother had raised with he and his brothers was here. He had known she had left back up north to see her other parents but never expected her here. Finding out what was planned from him Losa distracted Me’urra that night for the sake of her mother’s bonded who lived in the shop. In the morning she promised to kill the human for him so he could go have fun with the village slaughter. Gleefully he returned to Tiburmon and revealed that an old friend in the area would be killing the human and so he was free to fight. Tiburnon was skeptical of this until Me’urra revealed that Losa had been raised by Sharsa as a ‘daughter’. Having been warned of the devious mare Sharsa by Avalanche, Tiburnon simply took it that this ‘Losa’ would be as wicked as any sixer member.

They waited until a day with a light mist so the boats would not be missed. As a result Sharsa was milling about the village for a few days but it was no problem. The longer she was there the more she became nothing but a wallflower in the village. With the village having only about twenty true residents around the small groups of travelers and traders that came through from time to time the small group didn’t anticipate any real difficulty. The first sound of hooves could be heard by the villagers. Not thinking too much of it they went about their day a bit excited by the thought of a caravan coming to town. Soon they learned differently when the group charged into town knocking down and attacking the larger stronger looking humans they saw first. That’s when the screaming started. Tiburnon’s morning surprise worked out well because the town didn’t have time to rally a defense. Many people holed up in the Why Knot Tavern and those who couldn’t head to the tavern fled to the Lost and Looking boat house only to discover the boats not anywhere in sight. Sharsa took refuge in the boathouse with the terrified merchants to lie in wait. The humans blockaded the door there.

Meanwhile those in the tavern were preparing for conflict. The forest guide Xelco snuck out the back and went to get the village healer Reoakee from her shop where the girl would be holed up if she had any sense. Having been a guide to the woods so long Xelco was adept at sneaking and quickly and quietly made her way to the shop Odds and Ends were she found Reoakee in the back stables. The healer was packing supplies having head the ruckus in town. The pair got on Dome Menel Alu-lote and Luin Olos Ithil Mallen and raced into the village hoping to break through the sixer’s and into the tavern. Garth Andvari knocked Xelco from Luin’s back and it was the cruel hooves of Tiburnon that ensured she would no longer be a threat to them. Reoakee barely made it to the tavern but not without losing half her supplies thanks to the hassling of Nocturne.

Those holed up in the boat house thought themselves safe enough and were ready to just sit out the skirmish only lightly armed and hidden away. To their ever growing horror soon they heard a voice outside demanding they come out. They said they would not confident their barrage would hold. Sharsa suggested they take a moment and look to the children. Most took her advice wanting to be ‘strong and supportive’ It was then that Sharsa rammed herself into the barricade the humans had built up breaking most of it enough for the attackers to come in. Shocked and horrified the humans put up a resistance but not without the loss of a number of the traveling merchants.

With most of the evil herd out of sight those in the tavern rushed out armed with whatever they could find while the healer worked on those who were injured. Seeing the humans scurrying out from the tavern Cardinal and Me’urra turned and raced into them to keep them from rallying a force to counter. The human’s fought bravely using Dome Menel Alu-lote and Luin to take the injured into the woods and away from danger. The day seemed to be in the Sixer’s favor forcing the humans to flee up into the woods. The members of the six’s herd stayed in the village for days making ventures into the woods to ‘hunt’ the humans they couldn’t find. Whatever could be broken in the village was smashed and food was dragged out of houses to spoil. What could be moved was dragged to the river and dropped in it. After the village was decimated they left to head back down south.

With only one of the foresters alive many of the travelers not used to the woods ended up perishing thanks to the tallow trees. Those villagers who survived came back to village and gathered supplies and sent word to the King of the attack. They then started to rebuild until they got word from the king on what was to be done.

While the exact way this was planned is unknown to the northerners; the members of the six’s herd who were there said the planning went along as such. After a few weeks of travel seeing the target for the first time there was a discussion to set about the best way to destroy the humans living in the village.

Tiburnon: “The humans will undoubtedly try and flee for help so attacking from the side where they want to run only makes sense.”
Me’urra: “And what happens when they hole up in their buildings and hide from us throwing what they can from the rooftops?”
Cardinal: “Simple I can come and attack from above with Sumac. He’s a weakling but he’ll do just fine.”
Me’urra: “I’d rather not have you flying above my head where you might just miss your target.”
Cardinal: “Like I’d really waste time on killing you when I could do that any time.”
Me’urra: “Really last time we ran..”
Tiburnon: “Shut up the both of you! I am in charge here. They human’s hole up then we wait them out and let them starve. Give them no quarter and no rest at night. Keep them up at night so they are too tired to think and get comfortable. Even their dreams should be nightmares.”
Me’urra: “That could work..”
Cardinal: “So would an aerial attack.”
Tiburnon: “No early air attacks Cardinal. I don’t want our position given away. Though once they are holed up why not use your strength to break through and crash on them from above.”
Sharsa: “Oh my, that sounds so… uncertain. What if someone ended up with wood in their wings? I’d hate to see so many hard working members of the herd get wounded not in a real fight.”
Tiburnon: *staring at Sharsa* “You have a thought about it I take it?”
Sharsa: “Well perhaps since I’ve been here before I could just sneak in with one of the large groups?” *looks at the ground shyly* “I mean I’m not that strong in battle but I can open a way in if it’s needed.”
Me’urra: “….”
Cardinal: “Ha Ha Ha! Now blue boy why couldn’t you end up like this mare? I bet the humans would love to pet and rub all over such a frilly looking..”
Tiburnon: “Cardinal.”
Cardinal: *put out*
Tiburnon: “I want you to take of that human dwelling there. Me’urra there is another north of it. Deal with those living there. Come back tomorrow and be ready.”

Who was considered the 'victor'?
The Six’s members.

Who was involved?
Good
Sir Isengard Raines (leader)
Abdul
Kailyn
Runa
Fuschia
Jerome (NPC)
Destel (NPC)
Hannah (NPC)
Gertrude (NPC)

Evil
Ruin
Lord Demoni
Marisha ((Sorceress) NPC)
Unnamed (NPC)
Unnamed (NPC)
Unnamed (NPC)

Why did it take place?

Isengard and his crew were patrolling the edge of the Sixer's territory in hopes to fend off any Sixers who tried to slip by to cause havoc. Ruin and Demoni were on their way North to 'visit' some relatives, and a few other Sixers had heard about the patrols and were sent to 'take care of them', though their information was incorrect about the number.

Where did it take place?

Just on the edge of the desert on the West Side of the Isle.

How did it all play out?

Isengard was leading the small patrol group that consisted of Kailyn (a traveler), Abdul (a wise one who wanted to fight for the cause after the loss of the Fallen), Fuschia, who was there to help with the magic end of things, and Runa who is not sure why she was there exactly, along with the warriors, Jerome, Destel, Hannah, and Gertrude.

Meanwhile, Ruin and Demoni met up with the group from the Sixers who were ordered to stop the patrol. Knowing that it was more than the two that were reported to the entourage, Ruin and Demoni teamed up with them to show good faith and led them to where Isengard and his group were.

The clash happened almost as quickly as it started. Before anyone could really figure out what had happened, there were eight dead. Marisha the sorceress was killed by one of Fuschia's demons after she changed Isengard into an ogre, in order to save Abdul who was near death himself. Hannah, Jerome and Gertrude were all burnt to a crisp. Ruin and Demoni had vanished, deciding that they were done helping, Runa had barely made it away before Ruin got to her, but she went South and it was thought that she would not make it back north. Kailyn ran to get help and to also report the skirmish to the King.

Who was considered the 'victor'?
King Azreth

What the name of the Skirmish is and Why?

The South calls it Fire Skirmish, because many of the North Warriors were killed by fire, while those in the North call it Isengard's Victory because he managed to beat very powerful Sixers, even if he did loose several good warriors.

Thank you to the two participants. Y'all did a wonderful job! And the fact that y'all participated means a lot to me. <3
I really love the details that Reo put into her telling. Between the vivid story-telling and the maps, I felt like I could really connect to the battle. Perhaps a bit too wordy for this setting, but I still enjoyed reading it. I definitely appreciated having links to the Azrein involved, as I could see their tempers and alignments.
Becca's was very succinct, and the details were clearly stated. It left little question as to what happened.
Thank you again for your entries!

Unfortunately, the goal of the meta-event was to come up with 5 squirmishes. So I'll be dividing the total by 5, and award the points for one squirmish.
