Q:I'm greatly interested in the Final Fantasy series. I wouldn't mind giving it a try, but I'm confused on by the set up of everything. Like alpha phase for one? What exactly does that entail? What difference is that from beta testing?
A:Alpha is a testing phase before beta. Alpha stage has a controlled, scripted storyline. Testing wise, there's little difference. In real games alpha testing still has TONS of bugs needing worked out, so kind of look at it from that perspective. We need to test the systems to make sure they are fair and will work for the rest of the game. Sometimes supplemental systems don't work in rps, but that's why we need to test it before saying 'Hey we exist!'
Q:Do I post my character in the Profiles forum then post in Balamb Garden or Cadet Orentation?
A:Balamb Garden is the IC Thread, please post there!
Q:What should I put for Place of Birth since only Balamb Garden is available?
A:You could put any place in ff8 as your place of birth.
Q:Can I be a Cannon Character?
A:Yes. Please see the Cannon Character List in the Profiles section of the forum.
Q:Can I be an Original Character?
A:Of course, these characters will always be allowed in our guilds.
Q:How long are the Alpha and Beta tests?
A:Alpha is in 3 phases. During these phases your opinions will matter greatly. This process should only take about 3 weeks each phase.
Afterwards, Beta will be on going as long as needed.
Q:Why are doing Testing? Shouldn't we be able to jump into the game right away?
A:Well that's a good question. We are doing testing because this rp guild is a little more than just txt, we also have stat systems that can change through out play with upgrades, so it doesn't feel static.
Q:What level of literacy is this Guild?
A:The level of literacy expected from you is high. It doesn't matter how long you have been rping, only that you have a good paragraph structure and you are willing to put effort into your posts.
Q:Can we create our own GF/Champion/Machina or does it need to be one from the FF series? If we create our own, does it need a picture an description of their abilities?
A:GF's and other companions are going to be provided. Summons from all the FF games are going to be divided between the Archetypes fairly. Perhaps in the future we'll consider custom Companions.
Q:Would the guild announcement be the exit post for the cadets who are in other locations?
A: Yes, you can use it as a reason to post an exit post.
