Rumors of a pride that specialized in slave trade had caught Ehns attention. And boy were there many prides he'd heard about that specialized in such trades. The green maned lion had a personal bone to pick with these sorts of prides having grown up with the abused in his youth.

The lion was not alone in his struggle to free the in need. He'd met two young lions who seemed more than happy to help him along his ways. Well at least one of them seemed to be enthusiastic as he was. The other just seemed like he was there because his brother had agreed. There was strength in numbers though. Having two other lions with him gave Ehn a little more of an edge in case he was caught and needed some help.

The territory was nearing now which meant that all three of them were to slow their approach. Really, this was just a scouting mission to see what exactly they would be up against. It was good to be cautious and not run in blindly. Most of the prides that Ehn dealt with were dealers in the slave trade after all. So staying out of sight and out of mind was ideal. Being thoughtless could end them in the same fate of the souls they were trying to save.

"We're getting closer. So be careful to not be seen," The green maned lion whispered to his companions. This was met by an eye roll from Pitoo who thought it redundant to say the obvious out loud. Ah well, at least he was here in case the two dunder heads needed help. He stuck to the rear best he could.

User ImagePit:
A noble mission! Good verses evil, right verses wrong, and a bold party of companions ready to fight to the bitter end for the innocent! Pit couldn't have dreamed of a better situation. Well. He could. In that situation he'd likely have wings and a cape. Capes were awesome. But he didn't- so this was the next best thing.

Regardless of his eager, bubbly, and sometimes downright ignorant nature, Pit knew when to be serious and swallow his enthusiasm. He moved slowly and carefully, feeling the paws under his feet and keeping his belly low. The territory was dry, hot, and the ground was parched under his pawpads. In places it cracked like the skin of a reptile. What kind of pride would be out here? They must have been insane.

He lifted his head as they came upon the crest of a hill overlooking a large, dry bowl. A single tree, long dead, stood withered in the middle of the bowl. There were ropes, old ragged things scavenged likely from the camps of man, secured to the base of it. Pit frowned as something moved, shifting a mountain of muscle under a pearly pelt. A lion, easily twice his size, licked the roof of his dry mouth and took a few restless steps. It was restrained with not one but two silver rings around its neck and its throat was scarred so badly that the mane refused to grow properly.

Pit frowned and shot a look up to Ehn.

User ImageEhn: The image before the trio was one Ehn had to actually stop for a moment and take in. This creature wasn't just a slave. He was restrained and not in the best of conditions. There had been other slave prides the green maned lion had 'liberated' bu never something so savage. You'd think any creature would know better than to treat another creature in such a horrible manner.

His eyes were wide with wonder and rage at the same time. How dare this pride do something so awful! So barbarian! He wanted to let out a roar of anger bu refrained. In time he'd have his own victory roar once this was over. Keeping focused was what was important.

Pits own frown was mirrored by Ehn. His eyes glistened with determination. The green maned lion gave a go ahead nod to both his companions as he him self inched forward with caution. In all honesty the lion wasn't sure his anger would subside after this or fuel him more to find the exact lions that did this and show them he errors of their ways.

Lions who were capable of this probably weren't able to see the errors of their ways though. So Ehn tried to push it back to the back of his mind.

User ImagePitoo: Even though Pitoo usually liked to play the aloof not caring stoic card, he was one of the more caring lions on the inside. The image before the trio was upsetting. Only in fairy tales and folk lore had he'd heard of something so appalling as a lion restrained in such a manner. Now Pitoo was more alert and he moved closer to Ehn and Pit while still keeping up the rear so they wouldn't be ambushed.

For all they knew this could be a trap. It was hard to believe that lions could be capable of such evils.

Pit crept closer, though he wasn't being as silent as the other two by a long shot. The lion down below was restless, pacing around the tree as his large paws flexed a full set of claws into the broken soil under him, cracking it further and reducing the smaller pieces to dust. He didn't look like the friendliest guy either... there was a fire in his eyes and a whole lot of muscle under the alabaster fur, scared as he was.

Pit swallowed, a haunting thought touching the back of his mind.

"H-hey guys." He whispered over, shifting a glance towards his companions. "What...if he's not friendly? I mean... he's a bruiser, what if he turns on us?"

Ehn: Was trying his best to be as quiet and professional about this operation. As much as he was a kid at heart the freedom fighter knew when and where was the time and place. A mission where some one needing his assistance was not the time nor place to be playful. Right now was the time to be focused and quiet.

But the kind hearted green maned lion didn't mind that the brown maned youth was being a bit excitable nor did he mind the fact the kid questioned the one they were aiming to save. Very calmly with out looking back at the youth, Ehn replied keeping his eyes focused.

"We'll just have to ask him and see what he says."

Was simply put by the freedom fighter.

Pit's eyes shifted down to the prowling creature once more and swallowed down his fear. Okay well... if he wasn't the talking type and he did make a lunge at him, they were quick- and he was tied up. They'd have to figure something else out, likely after the lion had fallen asleep. Of course, there could have been other reasons. Maybe the lion was a criminal? Maybe he had murdered someone! Destroyed a whole pride! Maybe... maybe he'd killed a god.

The thought was silly. Unthinkable. Psh, no one could kill a god.

Frowning, Pit continued forward, unwilling to be seen as a coward or even as having been intimidated by the behemoth down below.

Reshiram froze and bared his teeth as a new, unfamiliar scent drifted past. The lion turned his head slowly, his eyes blazing. Three figures, none of which he knew, were inching their way over to him. For the moment, his captors didn't seem to take any notice that their borders had been crossed.

Caught in a prone state, the lion turned to face them, flattened his ears, narrowed his eyes, and flashed a full set of fangs their way. If they were here to take advantage of him, he'd not go down easily.

Ehn: The green maned lion could tell that Pit was being antsy. And now the captive knew that they were there. He was scared as was to be expected. Ehn was pretty sure he wouldn't be the most trusting either if he was kept in such terrible shape as this one was being held.

The green maned lion paused a bit and took in the other lions eyes. He gave him a sorrowful gaze. Ehns heart broke for this lion thus all the more reason why he needed to be freed. Hopefully the captures would go on not noticing them.

Pitoo: For the most part guarding these two dunder headed pit stains from the rear had been pretty easy to keep under wraps. Stealth seemed to come a little more naturally to the darker of the twins. Of course, Pitoo had a lot of practice hiding in the shadows watching after his twin in secret.

But now the operation was about to be blown thanks to his brother. Ehn seemed more focused but he too was not as stealthy as the grumpy dark maned lion would have liked.

Though one thing he did agree with Pit on was the fact that this lion before them was a stranger. They knew nothing of why the harsh treatment was being used on him and if saving him could be a very bad idea. Pitoo merely muttered under his breath.

"Amateurs. "

He may have muttered that a little too loudly making him a liability as well.

Reshiram narrowed his eyes and took a slow, bold step forward, his great chest heaving as he drew in a deep breath that rumbled unpleasantly against scarred vocal cords. He didn't know them, he didn't trust them, and regardless of their age or their smaller stature, he wasn't about to turn his back on them.

The lion's eyes caught those of their leader, a youth with a full mane and a set of strange, but determined eyes. Some of the tension left him and it seemed, for the moment, he was stopped in his tracks. He'd not alert the others, but he'd not turn his back either.

Pit froze in place and held his breath, his eyes going wide as he shuffled just a little too loudly. He glanced to his twin and jerked his head forward. It was best if he didn't move.. he was making far too much noise. Once they were ready to retreat, he'd be sure to cover them but one more step and he could easily betray their location.

Ehn: They had a small moment where their eyes met. This only fueled the green maned lions determination to help this lion. Of course caution would be taken in to consideration. Ehn had brought two lions even younger than him self along for this mission. If things went sour and they got hurt or killed it would be on his head.

Pit not moving was probably best for now. He admired the youngsters drive but also respected the fact he was being a little cautious. One wrong move and they could end up like this lion here or worse. It would be for the best if fighting could be avoided for now. It would be perfect if fighting could just be plane avoided.

Determined the young freedom fighter advanced forward.

Pitoo: If Pit wasn't going to move than that meant that Pitoo probably should close the gap. Pit could take the back and stay behind if thats what he preferred. It was probably safer any ways and for the best.

Well that was how Pitoo reasoned it. He quickly closed the space between him Pit and Ehn taking up Pits post. However, in doing so, he might have been doing some more damage than good over all. Pitoo had an ego problem.

Reshiram didn't relax but he didn't move either. As the others came within striking range he stood his ground, still as a stature and baleful as a flame. Were they suicidal? There was nothing but death for trespassers here. Surely they knew that, the markers around the territory had been quite clear in that.

His eyes shot from Ehn to Pitoo then finally up to Pit standing still in the distance. A sentry and two... infiltrators. what kind of party was this?

"What... you.....are doing... here." The lion said, his voice crude and tight, spoken from a scarred throat. It was harsh on the ears, perhaps more than it was coming out of the dry, wounded throat.

Ehn: The captive speaking caused the green maned liberator to pause in his tracks for a moment. Not because he was scared but because the way the lion spoke sounded strained and hurting. Ehns heart strings were pulled again.

"We mean you no harm," The lion looked sincerely at the giant of a lion. "We merely wish to remove these ropes and go merely on our way afterwards. The look quite uncomfortable." He gave the big lion a sly smile, "And I hear man creatures have perfected a way of fishing with such things. We're merely here for the ropes my friend."

He was trying to make the situation a little more light hearted. But in all seriousness the green maned lion meant to keep the ropes along with rescuing this lion to add to his toy collection.
