Ezekiel Ramton
Player: Raven62
Concept: Ezekiel was born into a military family. His older brothers were both marines, and his father was a retired staff sergeant, but he never had a desire to follow their footsteps growing up. Ezekiel daydreamed constantly of intangible realms and fantastic things. He stayed in his room most of the time, reading, or playing his video games, and when he turned eighteen, he moved out and began to write.
After a few short years, his books began to gain momentum and he managed to create a career of large renown. While writing one of his books, he went on one of his usual solitary journeys to the cottage, but his editor didn't hear from him again for another six years. Everyone thought that he had been kidnapped and murdered, gone. They even had a funeral.
He had been taken to the land of the fae. The little people, as they were known as here. The one who was his keeper, was a cruel man. He was short, and his face was lined like an old oak, but he held much power. The man was a gifted magic weaver, and put Ezekiel to work ruthlessly, writing for them, translating and inscribing all they needed done, for years. But eventually, after recording his own copies of different spells and enchantments that passed by him. It took him six years to learn and even have any useful spells passed his way, but eventually, he had them.
One day, as he worked with the keeper, he used a spell to cause the flames in the fireplace to lurch forward and burn some of the books. The keeper turned to put out the fire, and, while the keeper was distracted he unbound his shackles with an enchantment, and smashed the back of the man's head with a book, to knock him unconscious. He ran away through the smoke and kept running until he found the hedge.
When he broke free, and reached the other side of the hedge, he was different...he kept to himself more, and had lost some of the presence he once held. When he walked into a room, he was looked past, as if he were not even there. He still held the same six foot even height, and 180 pound weight that he always had, he was a decent sized man, but for some reason, people seemed to look past him all the same.
He spends most days hiding in his room, and even though he has escaped the hedge, he does all he can to surround himself with ancient spells and magics to hide his presence, as well as home security systems. His house is protected by one of the best systems available, though he continues to write under a different name, never truly returning to the spotlight. His alias is a popular fiction writer that people have called a visionary, though they could never know what he truly has seen. He has gained abilities and magics that he never thought possible, learned things he didn't think could be, and he has come out the better for it, minus a little paranoia.
