Wings folded tightly behind her back and tail tucked firmly between her legs, Devin was regretting having chosen to go right when escaping a rather angry pair of foxes after taking a bit of what she though was a discarded carcass. Her wings had carried her as far as they could, but now, she was exhausted.
Her nose had led her this direction so far, but mixed in were scents she didn't recognize that made the fur along her spine bristle. This area was dangerous, and she had to be careful. Her stomach also needed to stomp making tiny noises while she slunk around.
Each footstep was careful and calculated. Getting nowhere fast, but moving at a slow enough pace that she felt properly invisible to anything hostile around. Her eyes went back and forth between the ground and the horizon, she looked all around, her ears, although normally pinned back, swiveled and turned around to catch any other noises. She was getting close to...some kind of home?
And close to the scent of someone or something else closeby. that scent was enough to make her take a few steps that were just a little too fast, and a little too noisy, till she reached the base of a tree to crouch down by. If all else failed...She could climb.
