Tilawen had slipped into a uncomfortable and deep sleep, her body twitching as if still going through the motions of her intense training for the last couple of days. Burrom was being hard on her, this he knew. But there was no other choice as he had to get her ready for what was to come. Morning came all too quickly. Forcing the girl to eat something to get her strength up he readjusted her bandage on her still recovering ankle and then the training was to begin again.
The triefen was weaker today due to the fact it had only gotten water to drink and nothing to eat. Perhaps it was cruel of the man to torment the creature but he hardly cared as all he wanted to see was the girl use her powers like she had with the dactyl. That explosion of fire had shown the girl had the potential of being quite lethal, she just didn't have the confidence in herself. And who's fault was that? Burrom knew that it was his undermining all these years that was rearing its ugly head now that he wanted the girl to be able to protect herself.
Still he placed the girl back into the pen to face off with the creature again. The second round had gone about just as well as the first one. As to be expected the creature was becoming desperate for food, and now was considering the girl as its next meal rather than an opponent. More spells were being fired off this time only angering the creature and causing it to attack in a rage. It was still too strong for the young girl though and soon she was exhausted and unable to dodge most of the treifen's attacks.
Burrom once again had to interfere, withdraw the girl and tend to her numerous wounds. Teeth marks covered her body and bruises had already blossomed and though he didn't say anything the girl knew she had disappointed him again.
"Tomorrow you WILL kill it. I cannot keep it alive for much longer. Do not hesitate to kill, otherwise it may kill you." Were his only comment as they spent the reason of the day the girl going over her spells while her father fed the triefen and went about repairing the fence.
