After her previous attempt against the dragon Burrom seemed to think that taking another shot at one would prove a most efficient teaching method. The young girls ankle was bandaged but she wasn't allowed to rest it. The sudden urge to get the girl properly trained was unnerving the girl, and she had to wonder why the sudden interest in him wanting her to be able to fight for herself. She had asked him once and he had not responded other than 'she should learn.' It had left her feeling...strangely welcoming the training sessions.
It was in a strange way the attention she so craved from the man she never called father. Though his lessons were fierce and his patience lacking she strived to do her best seeking that compliment something positive in her endeavors. But the dragons were still a fearful thing.
Tilawen having to favor her leg had taken up behind a rock in a defensive position, Burrom had taught her last night about how to use the terrain to her advantage if she found herself at a disadvantage. And though he didn't comment on her use of the knowledge she could tell he was at least satisfied that she had learned and put the knowledge to use.
"Don't watch me watch your OPPONENT!" Barked the Dovaa man as suddenly claws coming for the girls face. Bringing her staff up she blocked it feebly, falling to the ground when her ankle couldn't support her weight.
"Move!"
Upon his instruction she rolled to the side the dragons muzzle having reached over the boulder to snap at her. Staff still clasped in her numb hands she pointed it at the dragon and uttered the memorized spell sending a blast of fire towards the dragons face. It wasn't strong enough to do much damage, but it had certainly irritated the beast. A roar and the dragon was climbing over the rock to take another swipe at her.
Once again she was unable to move fast enough, and it was her father who came to her rescue. Spear in hand he stabbed the beast in the eye. It shrieked before rearing its head. The spear-man able to withdraw the weapon quickly as he then used this opportunity to stab the creature in the chest, twisting the weapon quickly and suddenly ending the beasts life.
Ignoring the body as it collapsed to the ground he was looking down at the young girl who was greatly improving considering how hard he was pushing her, but she wasn't learning fast enough. Perhaps the Aryala dragons were too strong for her still.
"Come on. We are going to try something different."
