So! I've been craving a role-play with dinosaurs and after watching the show Lost I've realized a way to fulfill my needs and touch on a somewhat popular role-play idea~
I want to loosely base a role-play on the tv series as well as add in my own twists. So far I'm deciding that the crash will either be a plane or a boat - not sure. In the actual series it's a plane crash and I figure if there's a boat, it'll be a bit different.
Now, this will be a survival role-play and I'm thinking of having slots and limited people to join in the role-play. The only slots I've thought of so far are;
Doctor/Paramedic, druggie, old couple, parent & child, lone child, crew of the boat, construction worker, and so on. This list is still open for suggestions.
Basically what is going to happen;
The plane/boat will go into the Bermuda Triangle, and the equipment will encounter troubles, making everything go crazy. They go into an unscouted area and due to the equipment malfunctions, their black box doesn't work. So here they are, stuck on this island and none of them know where they are. All they know is that within a few days, things start happening. Unexplainable things. The island they are on isn't normal, in fact, it seems like they've went back in time. Can they survive living on an island with creatures from the past?

Parent and child role sounds fun, I haven't played one of them yet. ^-^
So is this like humans that gain special powers on the island or something? Or are they all pretty much defenseless on an island with dinosaurs? I have only kind of watch the series myself, so will it confuse me at all?
What kind of substance will be on the island? Will the survivors be force to try things that they havent had before? Also will characters be able to die? Like if you do this, a dinosaur will eat your character, if you do this the food will be poisonous and you will die kind of thing? The the rp will be force to ether quit or create a new character? That actually sound kind of fun, never played an rp like that.

It's something I'm willing to try, I need to think of more roles or just let people come up with their own.
Nope, just original humans. I don't know if I'm going to have dinosaurs for sure or not but, I do love dinosaurs so it's a big possibility. I just know that a lot of people seem to like the "stranded" role-plays and I've been craving kind of both.
Substance? You mean food, drinkable stuff? Etc? No idea - I need to do some research for all of that. Of course on an island with limited supplies, they will be forced to try new things, and some of the things could very well kill them. I don't see a point in having invincible characters. After all, they could get injuries from the crash and without medicine, die. Get bitten by a poisonous snake/lizard and not have the stuff to treat it, and die. It's all a big possibility.
As for when your character dies, I'll probably have them gone completely. After all, it's not going to be every day that a new person pops up. I think maybe later in the role-play like half-way through - if I make it, I'll allow new people to join that way it's a fresh batch of members plus more supplies, and maybe new hope. :3

Lol... I just thought of a little group of people standing over a dead person when someone just pops in out of thin air and suggests they have been their all along.... rofl but for seriousness for a moment, when I suggest such a thing I was thinking like how the show went... Important characters would be killed off from the crash wounds or other wise... and a character that had been there the whole time but had not been important suddenly becomes important. Their could be all sorts of Npc's that could become controllable characters if its worked in correctly. This does sound like a bit of fun though ^-^

If people are interested in staying, I'll allow them to make a less important character, someone who is mainly on the backburner for when their first character dies. Of course the second character will be on the island but they won't be played as much, just every so often when the occasion calls for it.
Food gathering will be based on a dice roll system, as well as hunting trips.

3nodding I do...because what good is a survival rp if their is no risk to loosing your character? ^-^...it'll be good fun I'm sure!
