What was her wonder anyway?
She supposed it was Esquiline, that was her name after all. The keys on her laptop clicked away as she typed in her knight name in the search bar. She was at her apartment. Her roommate was out with his family, and had invited her to go. But Amarilla choose to use the time alone to figure out a litle more about being Knight and what exactly came with it. The first page that came up was Wikipedia page for Esquiline Hill, and she clicked the link, taking her to the page. She read the first line, and promptly snorted.
"The Esquiline Hill is one of the celebrated Seven Hills of Rome. Its southern-most cusp is the Oppius (Oppian Hill)."
Her wonder was a hill in Rome? That didn't seem very important, even if it did say that it was one of the most celebrated. What was so special about a hill in Rome? It had it's fair share of history, but she didn't see why it needed protecting. Half of the buildings were broken down without the Negaverse's help. Man, were there negaverse in Rome? Or Paris? Were there senshi and knights there as well? Her brain didn't want to think about the fighting on a global scale. It seemed much too big for her to want to participate in.
Amarilla had let the idea of having a wonder to protect roll around in her brain for a little while before bringing up a search bar. When she had heard about it, it sounded like some big monument that she needed to protect, but hearing about Esquiline, which apparently was just one of the most populated places during the Roman Empire, made her question just why she was supposed to protect it. If there were senshi and knights in Rome, they could take care of the hill better than she could,
But maybe it wasn't this particular hill? After all, the other half of her name talked about Venus. Was there an Esquiline Hill on Venus? In her next search, she typed in "Esquiline, Venus" the link scrolled in front of her eyes. The only thing there was a nude sculpture of a woman with the same name. She sighed, rubbing her brown eyes. Was that sculpture what she was supposed to protect?
And more importantly, just how did she get to her wonder? She rolled back from her desk, leaning back in the chair with her head over the top. Her long pink hair dangled dangerously close to the wheels of the chair, tied a few inches above the ends of her hairs. Esquiline Hill....her frilly fuku, Cealian's equally filly, but much pinker fuku....none of it added up. If her hill was Roman, then why were they dressed like French debutantes?
She needed to talk to Caelian again. They were both Venus Knights, maybe she knew something that Amarilla didn't. She closed her laptop and spun in the chair, wondering just how to get ahold of her fellow Venus Knight.
