He grew up. Being leader of his own herd, was something he never thought would happen and it was almost like a dream come true for him. Having his family so close to him was calming and soothing. Though it did pain him that he still couldn’t reconcile with his sister, but there was nothing more he could do. He missed her even if he wasn’t going to admit it anymore. What’s done was done and in the past now. All he had now was the future.
Lifting his head, he watched the bird soar over the forest chirping happily about who knows what. The sun beat down into the stallion’s pupil-less eyes causing him to look away with a slight grimace. He thought about his children and how much they have grown over time. He couldn’t believe how much he actual had now. He built this whole utopia of family around him and he couldn’t ask for anything else.
“What is on the agenda?” A soft-spoken tone left the younger stallion’s mouth. It was a simple brisk walk in the forest. He usually made his rounds, but after becoming leader of the herd he hadn’t had the time to do so. This was the chance he had been waiting a long time for and was lucky enough to have Gabriel accompanying him even though he did so whenever he had to go somewhere.
Reaching a small stone hidden behind a bush, the young stallion looked down before touching it lightly with his nose. He let out a small calming sigh. He felt right at home again.

The large stallion followed closely behind his cousin making sure he kept him as safe as he could. It was strange for him to act as a bodyguard for someone who clearly didn’t need it. As he watched his cousin closely before looking up at the treetops, it was too bright for him even if some of the tree’s covered it. He scoffed and looked away keeping his eyes on their surroundings.
“After your rounds I’m assuming your going to go back to the herd territory right? If you want we can spend all day out here. I have nothing to do, but then again I rarely have anything to do anymore.” He shrugged and it was true. He didn’t have much on his list anymore. He was getting older and now that he was a father, he calmed down a lot. He sort of grew up. He would never believe it himself, but he really did.
“The family has grew so much I can’t believe where we are now. Hmph..maybe one of use will even have more children again. Though I can’t say when I will. My kids are already hitched with mates…last thing I need is to feel older by having grandchildren..” He mumbled flicking his tail in a bit of irritation.
His eyes then shifted to the woods, feeling like something was coming. He tensed up a little bit, but tried to remain as calm as he could even though he heard the rustling getting louder. He waited patiently to see who or what it was.
