Bluefire Dragonz

The Eternal Senshi of Danger was on the prowl, as per usual, but tonight his head wasn't in it. He was thinking about his friends and colleagues, and that was odd for him. Usually he only thought about himself in his down time, and then went to do something to fill up said downtime so he didn't have to waste his time thinking at all.

He took out his phone, at least glad senshi weren't stuck with something ridiculous for communication, like rings or stones or whatever. He clicked through the list and came across Ida's name.

Thoughtfully, he sent her a text. Nothing too fancy, just checking in with the usual concern and honest care that he usually shared with his friends.

You dead yet?

There. If she answered, then it did not matter what she said because he would know that no, she was not dead. If she did not answer he would have to assume she was dead, because obviously no one would just ignore his insensitive questions, right? He'd just have to go hunt her down if that was the case, to be sure.

That would give him something to do, too, so, really, it worked out for him either way.

What the....?

The text that had come out of the blue from Chaonis had Ida shaking her head in confusion. Dead? She might have been injured last time he'd seen her, but did he really think she might have died from it?

After getting patched up, she realized she had forgotten to let him know she was okay. So... the text probably wasn't all that out of the blue. Grabbing her phone, she sent him back a text.

Nope. Meet me by the college?

She did have some news to share with him, and he could see for himself that she was okay and doing well.

Bluefire Dragonz

Chaonis grinned at her reply, finding that he was glad to see it. And maybe a little relieved as well? She was, after all, his friend, and maybe he had been a little worried, in his way, following the last time they had met up. He did not like seeing his friends injured like that, and he absolutely hated being helpless to do anything about it.

If he had been there sooner, the whole thing could have been avoided. So maybe checking in with her was just a way for him to hide his concern under bravado once again. Pretend he didn't really care, but still get the answers he wanted.

Sending her an affirmative response to her invitation, he leaped from one roof to the next to get to the college. He was not too familiar with the campus, since he had dropped out of school when he was much younger and had never been convinced to go back, but he did at least know where it started.

He'd gotten there pretty fast, having been nearby, so he perched himself atop a high point on a rooftop and waited for her to get there.

The college was something of a landmark in the city, so it had seemed like a logical place to meet up. Surely he'd be able to find it.

Keeping her senses open when she arrived, she felt when the eternal senshi hit the scene. Suddenly feeling self-conscious, she straightened her new head scarf and her transparent side bows.

"Hey!" The flower senshi called as she landed on the roof, spotting Chaonis waiting for her. She couldn't help the nervous smile that spread on her face, a mixture of happy to see him and worried about what he'd think. It shouldn't have been so important to get his approval, but well... It became more important when that person had saved your life more than once.

Bluefire Dragonz

Chaonis looked a little surprised when she came up to him. Maybe that was because he was focusing on feeling a senshi at base level, not a super senshi, and he grinned at her as soon as he took a breath. He got up and sauntered her way leisurely.

"Look at you! All grown up and everything. It's not going to rain any time soon, but you're prepared for it anyway. Still!"

He laughed at her and moved to circle around her, looking her over, appraising her new outfit thoughtfully.

"Well! I gotta say, I'm surprised. After seeing you bleeding so often, I never thought you'd hit super." He grinned, teasing meanly, but he backed off a bit and nodded his head as he folded his arms over his chest. "But I'm glad to see it, and you look good. Hopefully you're having more success as a super than you were before, eh?"

Ida couldn't help grinning as he looked her over and actually seemed pleased with her progress. The comment about the rain had her fingering her scarf, but she knew it was just him teasing her. Still, she felt self-concious as he circled her, hoping she hadn't gotten dirt on her white skirt or something with the way she was being studied.

"Well, its not because I became bullet proof, or anything. ********* just sort of helped me decide why I was a senshi and then she helped me upgrade. I suppose a measure of my success so far is that you haven't had to save me yet." She said as she stood tall, rightly proud of what she had achieved so far. The attack had put her in one of the lowest points of her life and it had taken a lot to pull herself out of it. What's more, she had done that herself too, even if it had been with ********* prompting. If he had meant it as a bit of a dig, it went right over her head, the compliment on her new fuku making more of an impression and bringing out a blush on her cheeks.

"I've decided to help out new senshi now. I felt like I was thrown into all of this with a sink or swim sort of training and I don't want others to have to go through that. Maybe you wouldn't have had to save me if I'd had someone to teach me what to do."

Bluefire Dragonz

"Well, that's good that you can take care of yourself, at least," he grunted, folding his arms over his chest after thumbing his nose more on habit than for any particular meaning. He did look a little grumpy, if only because he liked rescuing her.

So it was a double edged sword. He was glad she could take care of herself and didn't want to actually have her getting beat up so much any more, but he liked being a hero too.

He wrinkled his nose are her words though. He felt like he was already training newbie senshi, and used the sink or swim method on purpose. Nothing wrong with that, in his mind, but he figured that newbies needed all the help they could get.

"Maybe," he said, shrugging his shoulders. "But it's part of the gig. Everyone needs help sometimes. Except me, but that's mostly because I'm awesome." And he was back to grinning.

Ida laughed, feeling relieved. His opinion mattered, so she was glad it was favorable this time.

"Well, I can sort of take care of myself. More than before, at least. I'm sure I'm not completely self-sufficient yet. Claiming I was would probably just be asking for another beat down..." She shrugged as she clasped her hands behind her back, playing with the trailing edge of her scarf.

"While I know the senshi aren't so organized that we can have some sort of system for training, I just don't care for the way Posiedon awakened me and then disappeared. If nothing else, it would have been nice for someone to explain what was going on and why I suddenly had magical powers... Some people work best under pressure and that's all well and good, but it doesn't do anyone any good for new senshi to be going into all of this blind." She frowned as she spoke, thinking and remembering. "If I had known Painite could teleport before I ran into it... I dunno, maybe things would have gone different. Or something."

She was starting to feel moody and she mentally shook herself. She had been in a good mood, she wanted to keep that feeling. "At least now most of the youma I punch have the grace to puff into dust without being told twice." Ida joked with a smile.

Bluefire Dragonz

Chaonis was glad that she could take care of herself, smiling and nodding his head. He chuckled and nodded his head.

"I guess some folks need that kind of hand holding. And it is always annoying to come across newbies that don't know even the basics. I'm not interested in teaching them the book lessons. If you want to cover that part, that is something we need done. As for my part, I'll stick with the punching and kicking methods I've already perfected."

People like Ida could do a lot better as teachers. Chaonis was more hands on, and less careful or caring. He had his own brand of loyalty, but he was always going to be fierce and competitive. He wasn't the type to explain things in depth, but he knew that it was unfair to just assume all senshi would just know that kind of stuff.

Or survive long enough to learn it the hard way.

"I think you'll do good," he grinned. "With that teaching thing. And the youma dusting." Chaonis giving compliments without ulterior motive or sarcasm? It was rare, but not unheard of.

Ida laughed as she shook her head at him.

"Its not really hand holding! Not everyone is awesome as you are right off the bat, you know. And not everyone learns by punching something in the face." She giggled. "Its certainly a part of it, I guess, but it shouldn't be all of it. Though... I will keep you in mind, when some hands on training is needed. Its not like I know how to fight all that well, you'd make a better teacher for that than I would."

Getting an idea, the flower senshi gave him a sly little smile.

"Do you wanna see how well I dust youma? If you're not busy, maybe you'd like to go beat up some monsters." Enough of the standing around. She'd come out here to after all, even if she'd taken a little break to meet a friend.

Bluefire Dragonz

Chaonis grinned. He liked compliments that came without him having to prompt them, out right, or just say them himself. He chuckled and nodded his head, agreeing that not everyone was as awesome as he was.

He tended not to remember that he failed a lot, even now, and that he definitely did not know everything. And when he had started as a senshi he had certainly not been as skilled as he was now. Confident, yes, but unable to back it up, more often than not.

He folded his arms over his chest, preening a bit.

"Yeah, let's see it. We can go find one, they're not that hard to track down. It sounds like a fun idea, and anyway, I want to see what you can do with all these new frills and this new power of yours." He chuckled.

A laugh broke from Ida and she didn't something she never did... She made a coy face at the other senshi and flirtatiously wiggled her hips, making her skirt and bows flick. Sticking out her tongue with a giggle even as she blushed, she turned and took off. He wouldn't have any trouble catching up, but might as well make him put out some effort at least. Opening up her senses, she felt around for signatures, wondering what they'd find tonight.

He was right, of course... it didn't take much running around to scare up a monster to fight. This one was even bigger than most, hiding out in the loading docks behind a couple of stores. It was a hulking beast of a youma and she really didn't like how it was looking at her as she took a defensive pose across the lot from it.

Waiting for a moment to make sure Chaonis had kept up with her, she rushed at the monster, delivering a quick series of little punches and knocked it back a step.

Bluefire Dragonz

Chaonis grinned broadly as she took off running, following after her. He was not going to let her make that kind of a face and run off without giving her a good chase. Anyway, this was why he liked being a senshi so much. There was always something to do, always some thrill to seek.

Some saw it as an endless chore, and if one got bogged down in obligation and duty, then sure. It was. But the Eternal Senshi of Danger trusted in his own strength and ability and he used that to make things entertaining for himself. His confidence meant that he could play, he could enjoy. He was capable enough to keep people safe, and not let the weight of responsibility get to him.

Maybe he would never grow up, but he didn't see anything wrong with that.

He came to a sudden halt when he saw the youma, lifting his eyebrow curiously at the hulking beast.

"Oh, you pick good ones," he said with a wicked grin, cracking his knuckles. He saw her attack the thing, and joined in, following her attack once she had landed her hits to swing a hefty one at it. A little one two from Ida to throw it off balance, and a big hit from Chaonis to put it on the floor. That was the plan, anyway.

The youma had another idea, lashing its arms around and slamming them both with a surprisingly might force. Maybe not so surprising, considering its size.

Ida grinned as she jumped back, letting Chaonis take his turn as he went for the beast. It took her by surprise at that point, though, when it suddenly lashed out at the pair. Throwing up her arms to block her head and neck, she felt one of its thick arms slam into her and throw her back, nearly knocking the wind out of her before she righted herself and managed to land on her feet. However ungraceful the motion had been, at least it hadn't laid her flat out... which was a credit to her power up.

"Nasty thing... I hope we got to you before you hurt someone." She muttered as she took stock of herself and her surrounding before she rushed into anything. She didn't want to jump it and be surprised again by something erratic it did.

Taking a firm stance, she swept her hand in front of her and called out. "Beautiful Petal Barrage!" As her hand moved, petals trailed behind it, and as she spoke, they hardened and flew at the ogre-like youma, pelting it with needles of light.

Well, that was one attack down. Hopefully she wouldn't have to use the other.

Bluefire Dragonz

Chaonis was used to youma being tough, though he hated that idea. The thing he hated most, actually, was being embarrassed by a youma fight. If one hurt him, or got the better of him, he found himself embarrassed and annoyed, and he had to over compensate with something reckless after to make up for his lost pride.

He watched as Ida took the lead, watching her attack and grinning. She had gotten more useful, more powerful, with her upgrade. Not surprising, they all did, but it was good to see. Though he would never say it out loud, he hated seeing her getting hurt all the time, and he protected her because he felt she needed him to. He might give her a hard time for it, but really he wanted to make sure she was safe.

Always.

The youma backed up and made a strange noise of pain at her attack. It lifted its arms to defend itself, and that seemed to be pretty effective for it, until a Senshi of Danger came flying out of no where and skid into its legs, knocking it hard from underneath and throwing it off balance. It toppled over, though it landed on top of Chaonis before he could get out from under it.
