Oulixes was sitting in the shade cast by one of the various rock formations that Sauti seemed to be filled with, starring out over the glittering water, and he had to admit that it wasn't so bad here. It was just enough distance from 'home' that he was actually able to feel comfortable, able to relax a bit, and didn't have to look over his shoulder at all times. He'd seen various sorts of prey in the water that he could make into food, there was a fresh water source not all that far from here, and it was basically deserted. It was the perfect place to rest up before he started moving again, never one to stay in one spot for too long for fear of being found. Not that he was the sort to admit to any sort of fears of course, and not that he looked the sort that had them. His expression was more often then not an unfriendly glare, the sort that chased people off despite himself, and due to this he wasn't exactly the sort that appeared afraid of anything.

Crossing his arms over his chest the dark haired halfbreed's yellow eyes sank half closed a for a moment he felt himself nodding off... that was until he heard someone shouting from not all that far away. Jerking upright to his feet he looked around, eyes narrowing, almost certain that someone was about to attack him. When he finally spotted who was making all the noise it was only due to the splash the other created in the water, causing him to take a couple steps forward, looking over the edge of his perch to see if the guy had made it or if he were dead now. Would kinda be a shame, the voice made it sound as if whoever was jumping was in a fairly good mood. That would be sure to be ruined were he to hit the rocks below of that Oulixes was certain.

As the blond popped up from under the water Oulixes found himself thinking to himself 'well that's good' though his expression sure didn't read as such. Starring down at him as he called out to seemingly nobody that he was going to be trying the same thing again, "How stupid." He muttered to himself, as though he wouldn't do the exact same thing if he knew how to swim he thought to himself. It wasn't as though he never did anything dumb in his life, if anything it was the exact opposite and he rather enjoyed doing foolish and dangerous things given that once they were over and done with he had the more wonderful feeling of being alive. Something that didn't last nearly long enough for his liking though.

Taking a step back he was about to return to where he'd been sitting when the other suddenly called out to him him in a rather friendly manner, one that almost made him suspicious as to what the blond was up to. Was his attempting to lure him into a false sense of security? After a moment he shook his head at that. Naw, he didn't seem bright enough to be sneaky he thought to himself before he said, "Been in Sauti a while, just not in this exact area." He'd only been in this place a very short time, but now he was wondering if he should move on or not. He didn't want to invade someone's spot after all. He'd see soon enough if this guy wanted to drive him off due to what he was. It wouldn't be the first time, wouldn't be the last, and there was little he could do until he was finally able to procure himself a weapon.

"I can leave if you want." He added, figuring he ought to make the offer, just in case he was the sort that didn't want those of mixed blood about.

Oulixes starred at the Wind Tribesman as though he had grown an extra head before giving a little sigh, "Forgive me, I guess I am too used to those that seem my mixed blood as a curse." He said, giving a shrug of one shoulder. So the guy was alright with him being here? That was odd, but a welcome thing. It reminded him a bit of the last Wind Tribesman that he'd run across, making him wonder if they were all so friendly. A shame that he hadn't been able to grow up here in Sauti, maybe he'd be a far different person then he thought to himself in a envious manner. Imagine being allowed to be so cheerful and upbeat... he almost couldn't imagine it.

"Well... if you don't mind then I will stay a while longer. It's... quiet here, peaceful, and I could use a bit of that." He admitted, deciding that he would cease his retreat. The idea that he was able to stay, that the guy wasn't going to chase him off or throw things at him, it was bonus, "So you said your name is Natus? I am called Oulixes." He introduced himself.

Huh, he had a mixed blood relative? He supposed that gave him a reason to be tolerate him, because of that nephew. No matter, even if that were so then he would go with it. He wanted to feel welcome even if for a moment. The idea that this guy didn't like to fight made him kind of like him a little. He didn't want to fight either, but no matter if he wanted to do so or not he did so, often. Still, if he could 'play nice' with this guy he supposed that the day wouldn't be so bad now would it? To actually have another person to chat with, it was something he hadn't had since he left his first friend of sorts behind some time ago.

Dropping his bright gaze down to the hand that was extended out toward him he starred at it for a time, seeming as though he were debating on it for a long while, before he finally reached out to Natsu a quick shake. It was something that lasted just a split second before he was jerking away again, "Yes, a... pleasure..." Words that he actually meant even if his tone sounded uncertain.

When the blond asked him if he liked to swim he gave a shake of his head, "I don't swim. I am from... from Zena... and there is nothing there but snow and ice, no swimming at all. The idea of it interests me though." He said, seeming as though he were debating over his words carefully. He didn't like admitting that he couldn't do something, especially something that looked so interesting. Swimming could be fun, if he had any idea how to do it, "I will watch you do it though, so feel free if you wish to jump once more." He said, not wanting to hold Natsu back when he seemed so excited over it.

Oulixes shook his head, "Sorry... I know few people from Zena, I left there the moment I was able to do so." He said, glancing away fro a moment. he had no idea who this 'Viveka' person was but he was sure that he must be someone amazing to get someone blushing in such a manner. His best friend, huh? Interesting... though the idea of a man that spent his time sculpting flowers did cause him to make a face, "Sculpting flowers... seems like a waste of time for a man..." He muttered, then blinked a couple times as he realized that he was speaking his thoughts out loud, thoughts that were insulting this person's best friend. Damn it, he needed to work on that he mentally berated himself. Stupid words always seeming to escape from him at the least opportune times.

"Sorry... just not... something that I thought men did." He said, trying to make up for such a statement. His father would flip out was he to think of doing such a thing himself. He'd likely blame Oulixes's 'weak Wind Tribe blood' for such a hobby, of that he was certain. Glancing away he lifted a hand up to tug on a lock of his messy hair. He had to be more careful or else he was going to chase this person off when he was just barely making an acquaintance of Natsu. Blast it...

shaking his head as the other called him 'silly' which was the weakest insult ever used against him he said, "I said I don't know how... I just... can't and... it's best not to just go diving on in. I can't say I am quite ready to drown yet. I have a few more things to do first." He said, then waved a hand at him, "I don't mind watching. I will find a good perch for it."

"Ahhh..." An artisan... nothing for him to really worry about, he would never become something like that, someone who spent their time creating things. He wanted to spend his time doing many different things but but thinking on it none of them really involved creation. Given that his most prevalent goal in life was to get strong enough to kill someone made him seem like a terrible candidate for an artisan position so perhaps his bad mouthing the guy wasn't fair. Ah well, it didn't seem as though the blond were too terribly upset over his words so it probably didn't matter all that much what he'd said.

As he found himself with the sudden offer to learn to swim with the help of the other man he couldn't help but to stare at him for the longest moment... then slowly nodded his head, "Perhaps..." Did he trust him enough with such a task? He couldn't really say, what was there to keep the blond from instead holding him under? A slightly morbid thought, as well as one that likely didn't apply to the guy, he didn't seem the murderous type. No, that was Oulixes job to be that type he thought to himself before finally saying, "I... suppose we can try that." He said, glancing away for a moment, then back again when the other offered up some other suggestions for what else they could do. Gathering shells to make into jewelry? What in the name of the Goddess did he need jewelry for? Not as though he wore it and he was certainly not courting anyone, not with a face like his.

"Maybe... swimming lessons first." He said finally, trying to figure out a way to avoid making such frivolous items even if it meant trusting this person not to drown him.

"Hn..." This was a terrible idea and he was almost certain that he was going to regret it Oulixes thought to himself as he glanced at the water for a long moment before following Natsu toward it. Why, what did he think that following someone into the water was a good idea? Maybe because the guy seemed nice enough and trust worthy? Was he really though? Could he trust him? Damn it why was it so hard to deal with people... an question he knew the answer to all too well but he just didn't want to think too hard on it at the moment. Instead he decided that he would do what he could to focus instead on the task at hand. Think of the present, not the past, and maybe he would be better off without saying anything stupid he thought to himself as they approached the water.

There was a moment where he hesitated, shifting in place at the edge of the water, going tense when it splashed forward over his feet, "Ahh... are you sure that this is..." He glanced over at him as Natsu started to cheerfully explain to him which parts of the water were safe. He supposed that answered the question he was about to ask, didn't it? So it was safe where Natsu was standing then? Alright, he would go into the shallow parts and they would attempt to figure out the whole swimming thing he thought to himself before slowly entering the water, watching in a dubious manner as though he was certain that it was out to get him.
