Whereas Remarque typically liked to arrive a bit early, he took great care to arrive just on time, today. It was rare—if ever—that he was near to the antique store while powered up, and he didn't want anyone poking their nose around here, messing things up. He had seen what sort of destruction a battle could cause; he wasn't going to let anything happen to this place because he was negligent.

He couldn’t be too careful, though; he had locked up the store and powered up right there. There were more than enough mirrors for him to slip through, and he did so quickly. It was a bit redundant, but Remarque was careful to preserve both his identity and the safety of the shop; he mirrorwalked from one of the antique mirrors into the park and started backtracking to the store.

The walk back was quick, albeit unpleasant; the rain from earlier had only recently stopped, but the weather had taken a turn for the worse. Fog had rolled in, thick and heavy. Remarque batted at it as he climbed up to the roof of the antique shop, not but a few seconds shy of their meet up time.

Alexandre wasn't one to be late either, unless he hadn't the ability to avoid it. Tonight wasn't one of those nights. Tonight he was on time. He had powered up on the walk to the antique store and while in the alley way reported the rest of the distance.

Arriving on the stores roof top he didn't have an issue in seeing the other, or not that much of one. He could if nothing else sense the dark mirror senshi. The fog was thick, making breathing for some a possible difficulty. But for him it was calming, just like rain and drizzle did.

"It's good to see you Remarque." He called as he raised a gloved hand to wave to the other. It was always nice to see someone he was comfortable, and familiar, with. He liked to keep those people close to him and nurture the friendships and level of ease and comfort they had together. He liked knowing there were people he could trust whether in a battle and with having his back or with secrets and...having his back.

It was why he trusted this whole big secret with Remarque and he was here tonight.

"I think 'see' is being generous," the male replied, swatting at the air, still. A part of him had been worried that Benitoite wasn't going to show—that someone would have found out about Bazzite and detained the General. That he would have been so engrossed in grief that he would have been late. It was a great relief to have him there and in one piece, though Remarque couldn't bring himself to relax just yet.

While it didn't seem that anyone was in the area and posed a threat, he didn't want to stay for any longer than he needed to. "I hope the Rift has better weather than this. That…is where you're keeping him, isn't it?" he prompted.

"Perhaps, but it is just easier to say." Shrugging, even if the other couldn't see it, he settled for crossing his arms over his chest. "I can see your form, just very dark...like a silhouette." That was the only way to describe it, or perhaps like seeing someone through a white sheet with a light to cast shadows. Yes, that also fit.

'The rift is the only place he can be now, unless I let him out and only then for short periods of time." Another thing he disliked about what he'd done. Bazzite could no longer leave the rift on his own. He needed to be summoned. But more importantly was the time limit there seemed to be. Bazzite couldn't just loose himself in wandering around above ground and feeding. His time was limited. He had taken this world away from him to a large extent.

"The Rift doesn't have weather...it's underground." He stated with a rolling of his eyes. Heading toward the dark figure in the fog he finally reached the other and could properly see him.

Remarque just nodded, moving closer to Benitoite to see him better. He was still taking in all the information about Bazzite and really didn't have any idea of what to expect. He didn't care what the weather was up here; he'd deal with the nuisance if only just to see what had become of his friend.

"Good to know," he said of the Rift; he'd never really had any idea where it was. It would be like trying to describe Mirrorspace; all he knew of it was that it existed between mirrors, but as to where, physically, one could find it? He hadn't the faintest idea. The concept of someone stumbling into Mirrorspace uninvited was almost amusing, until one considered the current disposition of the wraiths.

It probably wouldn't end well for the uninvited guest.

"…All right, let's get this show on the road," he said, drawing in one final, calming breath. "I'm ready, let me see him."

Deciding to provide a little more information, after all knowing more was always a good thing, he added to what he'd already said about he Rift. "The Rift is the old kingdom of Earth, and the near surrounding area, so some homes and what would have been shops." As he was sure the other had never been down there, and never would. He wished he could take a picture for him but knew that was impossible, he feared what the youma would do to a camera. Perhaps he could paint him a picture, to help visualize it?

The Rift was certainly a dark and creepy place, and had to visualize properly. But it was there safe haven for the Negaverse agents, the youma, and even the corrupted senshi. And while he didn't know about mirror space he figured it was less intimidating than Negaspace and the Rift.

Taking a slow breath to focus his thoughts he sent out the call, the summons, requesting Bazzite's presence. He hadn't seen him since the incident. But it was time to face his Frankenstein. It was time to see Bazzite again and see if he was well and if any humanity shone through and showed resentment, loneliness, ect...

A metallic breathing sound reached their ears before the unnatural glow of inhuman blue reached their eyes. The summons was heeded with the utmost haste as all youma were apt to do. They had no choice but to obey. However, Bazzite never minded his leash - if he were to play pet to anyone, it would have been Benitoite.

The breathing and the buzzing of a huge locust somewhere in the darkness drew closer and grew louder. Steps could be heard with a long pause between them indicating an exceptionally wide stride. A figure began to take shape in the shadows - a towering height, wide shoulders, glowing eyes. Wings in quadruplicate and made of gossamer, a hood, claws. Vague details became sharper the closer the youma drew to his master. Soon a face could be seen, remnants of the adornments he wore as a Captain swung about his hips. Pointed ears jutted through what remained of his hood. Blue skin was matte where a slight tan used to be.

His destination reached, the youma simply smiled down at the blonde, face brightening in the same way a dog's would upon seeing his master.

"Hello, Beni."

Remarque didn't know what he was expecting, but it wasn't this. The thought of looking up at Bazzite was so strange. He seemed human, in a way, but it wasn't at all the Captain he remembered. Strange skin and voice and appendages…

He was grateful that the youma's attention was on Benitoite so he didn't have to worry about explaining himself for staring. It gave him a moment to take everything in—to let the shock where off and figure out what he was going to say.

In a way, he was disappointed.

He had wanted Benitoite to have over exaggerated—for there to be more visible signs that it was Bazzite in front of him. This didn't look like the generic youma, but he definitely looked like a youma. It sent a shiver down his spine when he remembered how much pleasure he had taken in dusting youmas. They were people.

…Maybe not now, but once upon a time.

It was the only justification he could take solace in; they used to be people, but not anymore. They were just monsters, just tools for the Negaverse

But then, what did that make Bazzite? Certainly he had to be the exception. Here he was, talking. That was unlike the youmas Remarque had encountered. That had to count for something, surely.

He just didn't know what.

He shifted positions slightly, adjusting to put his hands on his hips as he finished sizing Bazzite up. He didn't know what to say to the male—didn't think it appropriate to make some teasing joke—so instead he spoke to the General. "He doesn't seem so bad."

Where somemight quiver or turn to see what approached them the shorter blond did not. He knew what was approaching and knew his safety was a guarantee, Bazzite wouldn't ever hurt him. Bazzite may no longer be the same, would never be the same, but Benitoite still knew the other would never harm him nor allow harm to come to him. In fact, Bazzite who had always seemed to care for him could better care for and insure his safety now, not that he would ever seen such from the other. He liked his independence and liked to rely on himself, he liked to think he had enough strength to keep himself relatively safe in a battle.

And while he knew he was safe he knew other people - civilians - weren't. Where the old Bazzite had freaked out on at the idea of killing, had cried over it, this Bazzite had no such issues with killing. This was just one of the major things separating the two, and that upset the General.

"Bazzite." Turning his head to look up at the other, he really needed to get used to the others immense height.

"You should spend some time talking to him, you'll notice the difference more. It's rather...profound." Looking to Bazzite he tilted his head, it was hard to look at him and yet he willed himself to. This was his youma and this was Bazzite. He couldn't look away. "You remember Remarque, correct Bazzite?" He really didn't know, though he did hope he did.

"I don't like it when you talk like I'm not here." came a reply, a frown creasing the youma's face, blue eyes locked on the taller blonde.

Tilting his head, the blue giant took a few languid steps towards Remarque. Ah, now he was taller than the blonde. The process of becoming a youma had garnered the skinny bluenette nearly twelve new inches in height. "Yes, I remember you, Remarque." A savage, perhaps even sickening smile then stretched across Bazzite's features, though not enough to appear completely inhuman. Only when he hissed or was feeding did Bazzite's jaw unhinge like a snake. "Don't you think Beni did a great job with my promotion?"

The youma held his arms out, as if presenting himself as some sort of prize his General had won.

Wings in quadruplicate buzzed in quick succession then like a dog's tail would wag out of happiness. "Things are... different now. But it's so much easier to pull starseeds. Like you wouldn't believe."

Profound difference indeed.

When Bazzite approached, Remarque watched him cautiously. He wanted to trust that Bazzite remembered him, that they would get along. Wanted to trust Benitoite that he was tamed and would obey.

But Bazzite was taller than him, and he looked strange.

And Remarque had never really gotten along with any youma.

"Is that so?" he prompted, though there was no real curiosity. He had little interest in starseeds or pulling them, but if that was what was occupying Bazzite's free time, he wasn't going to challenge it. "Benitoite has certainly given you an interesting makeover, I'll say that much about it."

His eyes flicked to Benitoite; he had had meant no insult by it, though it was almost awkward to speak to Bazzite. He wanted to speak to Benitoite, who at least had a human face.

But Bazzite had spoken. Bazzite wanted to be addressed.

So he'd try.

"So, it's been a while since I last saw you. I never got to ask how you were, how you've been doing." Simple prying, but he was testing the water with this one. "What's it like?"

Smiling at the two he watched them interact, it seemed one was on unfamiliar ground and the other knew just where things stood - at least for him. Bazzite wasn't hindered by anything and spoke blunt and honestly. Where as it seemed Remarque was unsure what to say, how to speak, and was perhaps uncomfortable with the other completely. He wasn't all that surprised.

He felt bad for Remarque and putting him on unfamiliar ground, it really was his fault in a way. "Yes, you are still one of us Bazzite, still fighting for chaps and the Negaverse." He spoke softly, grayblue eyes on the other and unblinking, he didn't want to seem disturbed or upset by his own creation. He felt a deep sadness, there was simply no way around that, but he had to try and accept this and what his friend now looked like and was. It was just hard to do.

"I would thank you Remarque, but it was rather unplanned and I assure you I had no choice in the changes. I may like plants but I did not decide on the flora the other boasts." He spoke; trying to lighten things a bit. But really, he hadn't a single thing to do with that. Though maybe, just maybe, it was like uniforms? Creating your own youma got you something which suited you somehow? And suited the person being turned? It was a creepy thing to think about really. But it would explain Bazzite's new appearance.

"If you'd like, Bazzite, tonight you can gather all the starseeds you wish to fill your appetite." Yes, he would have him stay out as long as he wished, and needed, in order to do that. He owed it to him really; he owed him a lot.

"I am doing well," came a metallic reply, Bazzite lifting and moving his head to and fro to stretch the tired muscles. Despite the fact that it probably looked incredibly painful, his high-arched feet never seemed to bother him. It was usually his back and neck. "Things are different. I'm mostly just hungry and bored. There aren't many to talk to down here though, and that bothers me sometimes. When you want to talk, everything around you just grunts. Like if someone turned all of your Court into zombies. Friendly zombies but... not good conversationalists."

A shrug of his wide shoulders was about all he could muster.

His General's suggestion for a quick meal made the youma's skin peel back in a delighted, toothy smile. "I can stretch my legs a little. The night air topside smells so good when you have all this dankness to compare it to. You don't know what you have until it's gone, right Remarque?"

The youma chuckled. Certainly he knew and understood the immensity of all he'd lost more than most people aside from his General. And yet, Bazzite didn't have an ounce of hatred for him.
PostPosted: Wed Jul 03, 2013 10:32 pm

"I suppose," Remarque replied thoughtfully, though he liked to consider himself a man who knew much—including what he had. And he had a lot.

He couldn't imagine losing so much of it.

"Well, if you ever want company while you're up here, you're more than welcome to seek me out. I think, of all the youma, I should like to spend time with you."

And that was saying a lot from the Dark Mirror Senshi, who on several occasions had gone out of his way to assist in the destruction of youma. He had done so gladly and without shame, and there was a strong probability that he would continue to do so in the future. Even if they had once been humans.

Not all of them were like Bazzite.

Not all of them were thinking and talking and comprehending what was going on around them.

"I don't imagine the change in skin color has changed that charming personality of yours. Starseeds, though. What do they taste like?" he looked to Benitoite expectantly; the Dark Mirror Court did not dabble in starseeds, but you learned more every day. While he was becoming a bit more comfortable around Bazzite, it was difficult to look at him for too long without feeling like he was going to get caught staring; meeting Benitoite's gaze was a nice break.

It was the other hating him, and not forgiving him, which bothered and worried the General terribly. He worried over so many things concerning Bazzite and his new form. How could he not though? But the other seemed alright, though Johnathan Miller had been good at hiding things, so he wasn't sure if he should take things at face value. He wished he could, would like it if he could.

The others words about being topside and not knowing what you had till you lost it stung, stabbed deep, as the General covered up a wince at the others words.

"Hmmm...the taste of starseeds..." Pondering this he tapped a foot gently against the ground, rapidly, that was an interesting question. "I've never taken drugs but I'd say it could make you high like one though it's a high of power and euphoria perhaps. As for taste, since you asked about taste, I can't really say. I think you get swept up in the power and the rush too fast to notice a taste. You will notice a crunch though; I suppose like rock candy if you've ever had it." He answered while looking to Bazzite to see what his answer would be, would it be different? What did the other get from them? Aside from a full belly and...pleasure of some sort?

"I wonder if a dark mirror senshi could even have one..." Thoughtful he tilted his head a bit. "I mean the energy boost is good but also some mild healing helps in a battle." And he did wonder on this for a moment; could dark mirror senshi reap the benefits starseeds offered?
