Perenna was all dressed up in her ballet outfit and ready for class. Her mother had dropped her off in front of the studio and Perenna practically skipped her way in. It was still early, but Perenna wanted to be nice and warmed up before everyone else arrived. She carefully put her bag on the floor and changed into her ballet flats. Looking around the room, with the mirrors, poles and the grand piano.

She peeked at person sitting behind the piano. The person looked different from the one before, where the lady had white hair and well... She was old. This one had pretty black hair and was definitely a lot younger. Interested in learning about the new person, Perenna walked to the piano while pointing her toes.

Once she got to the piano, Perenna rested her head on the piano and looked up at the girl with a broad smile. "Haiya! You must be new here! I'm Perenna. It's nice to meet ch'ya!"

Waking up this morning, Delilah would never have guessed that she would be attending a ballet class. Thankfully for both herself and everyone present, she was not going to be one of the dancers.

No, Delilah White was currently sitting at a grand piano looking over the sheets of music for a class that was about to start. Her former instructor had called in a favor that Delilah was left without the ability to say no. What worried the teenager was the fact she had never seen the music until thirty minutes ago. That was why she had come early.

What she had not counted on was that one of the tiny dancers would have been their before the instructor. So all Delilah could do to smile down at the little girl. "Hello Perenna. How are you doing? Are you one of the students?" Her hands were putting the music sheets back on the piano as her eyes watched the child. "I am Delilah. Ms. Andrews asked me to step in for her. I hope that's alright."

Perenna got on her toes, warming up just a little bit as she listened to Delilah talk. She would miss Ms. Andrews, but she was also really excited to have Delilah here! "I'm well, thank you very much." There was a nod in response to her being a student or not. "I'm here a bit early to warm up for class!"

Warm up was an understatement, however. The growing girl always felt like she was behind the class, so her mother was always willing to drop her off a bit earlier than normal. In truth, Perenna was doing well in the class, and even a little bit ahead when it came to how her body moved; it was more well defined with the extra practice she got.

"Oh! Are you good at playing the piano? What songs are you going to play? Is that why you're here early?" It was easy enough to tell that Perenna was excited to meet someone new. "I'm excited for you to play! I'm not sure about the other kids though..."

Perenna's energy was contagious. The way her little body moved with excitement spread over to Delilah bring a large smile to her face. At first she felt it calming her and yet the last part brought back the butterflies she had been facing before. She needed to get rid of those else it would affect her ability to play. Last thing she wanted was Beethoven sounding like Flight of the Bumble Bees.

"I have been told I play well." Delilah was for once, keeping her ego in check. Was she good? Ha! Delilah knew she was good and had been for a long time. It was why Ms. Andrews had called her in as a replacement. Not to mention she was also one of the few people who could sight read perfectly. But this little girl didn't need to know all that. Not in words anyway.

"Now why would they not be? Do they like Ms. Andrews that much?" Delilah didn't really think that was the reason but she didn't want to say the other. Still, they were stuck with her as long as the dance instructor didn't throw her out.

"Would you like for me to play something while you warm up? Any requests? I know more than just the songs here." Delilah offered with smile as she watched the girl again. If they were both there to practice, why not do it together? "And I need to make sure I am familiar with the piano before class starts anyway. Don't want my fingers tripping over each other." Delilah smiled as she interlaced her fingers and showed them to Perenna pretending they were tied in a knot.

Perenna only got more excited at Delilah's note that she played well. She had always loved music, but being able to play it was something she lacked. There had been a few attempts at learning, but she was unable to read notes. What she had learned was simple things through hearing.

"I bet you play awesome...ly?" She was slightly confused on how to describe it, but either way, it got her point across! "And I don't think they'd not like you... just intimidated by someone new! They're just used to Ms. Andrews and not used to Ms. Delilah." Perenna nodded as she spoke.

At the mention of a request, Perenna got more excited, but paused all of a sudden. "I don't really have a favorite song... What about your favorite song to play? Like one you've memorized by heart? I think that would be lovely to listen to and to warm up to!"

She walked a bit away from the piano and sat on the ground, ready to stretch and warm up her muscles before practicing the basic positions she was being taught. Perenna smiled and waved at Delilah. "I'm ready to go if you are!"

The little girl's confusion at creating a word made Delilah chuckle softly. To be young and so full of life. Even at sixteen she could already see how much someone could change thanks to events like high school. Not to mention gaining a second identity. But that was quickly pushed from her mind.

{color=red]"Well then, I'll just have to show them there is nothing to be afraid and that I don't bite." Delilah responded calmly. It was not what she had feared so now her butterflies were once again lessening. Once she started playing, they would have all flown away. "But please, just Delilah is alright Perenna. The Ms makes me feel old."

Delilah played at a shiver before she fully turned back to the keys. Her favorite song? Now that was a tough one. Hands down she would have to pick Chopin but she couldn't think of one that had the energy and happiness this little girl had. Then something came to her and she smiled. "Perenna, if you don't like this one, tell me and I'll happily change."

With that, Delilah's hands hit the keys and her eyes closed. As she played Choplin's Revolutionary Étude , her body seemed to give into it as if she herself was in the war the piece reflected.

It was a short piece so as she came to the end, her eyes opened and turned back towards the little dancer. "Too much?" Delilah honestly asked.

"I've bit my papa before when he was teasing too much..." Perenna paused to think about biting and if it was good or bad. "So I guess biting can be okay sometimes, right?" Most would be ashamed to admit something like that, but Perenna managed to tell Delilah with a smile. She knew that it would be a good sort of defense if she found herself needing it.

Perenna giggled at the thought of Delilah being old. 'If you're old, what's my momma and papa? Plus... You are older than me, so I could call you miss, but I promise I wont, Delilah!"

Once the music started and Perenna saw how much Delilah enjoyed playing the song, she didn't dare interrupt with another word. The music got Perenna's energy pumped up as she first started warming up her legs for a couple of seconds, then her arms, and then some core muscles. Once the music stopped, Perenna felt more ready for the hour practice that was coming up.

She ran over to the piano and smiled up brightly at Delilah. "That was absolutely wonderful! And that's your most favorite song to play? Are your favorites by the same composer?"

Delilah had to force her smile and laugh back at the idea of this little girl biting her father. She could see her own dad's face if she would have done that at Perenna's age. Teasing or not, she would not have done it again. Still, Perenna seemed to not be phased by it in her own way. It made the teen happy to see that was still alive.

"Thank you Perenna. I call adults that as well but I am not ready to be called it myself." She sighed seeing her finish her practice before pondering over music.

"It's one of my favorites yes. But while I do admire one composure more than another, I would not say they are all by him. Now, is there anything you would like to hear? Maybe something to help with a routine? I am not sure what you are all doing in this class."

"You're older, but just like me at the same time!" Perenna grinned. She was glad to have a friend. "I hope to be as talented you too! But..." She paused, looking over at the piano. "Probably talented in something but the piano." Her parents had let her try once, but she didn't play very well.

Perenna stood there thinking. There had been some basic songs she liked playing the short period she learned, but her favorite song. It took a bit of thought, but then she remembered something. "A song I really like, my momma told me the name, but I can't quite remember... Rise... Rise of the..."

She got on her toes, stretching her calves as she thought about the name. "I really don't remember." Perenna frowned, wishing her memory was better.

Though she wasn't quite sure how to take the 'you're older' comment, Delilah was smiling warmly at the angel. As long as Perenna didn't call her ugly, fat, or an old witch, she could deal with the older comment. Besides it wasn't hard to be older than a ten or twelve year old anyway. Though she did have to wonder what Perenna would consider someone like her mother who was in her late 40s.

"You know that you can have a great talent that isn't the piano. Want to know something about me?" Delilah leaned down towards the little girl and pretended to whisper "I can't dance." Looking at her and fanning embarrassment, Delilah acted like she had just confessed a dark secret. After a second, she let it go with a wave of her hand. "It honestly makes me admire you. Maybe I should have tired it when I was little."

And then Perenna was in deep thought and it was the most adorable thing ever. That girl was energy in physical form. But she seemed so sad about it that Delilah's own mind started working trying to remember song titles she might have heard long ago. "Rise of the Moon?" Outside of the animated movie, she couldn't think of anything with 'Rise of the' in the title. Maybe it had a second name Perenna didn't know? "Do you happen to know the beat of it at all?"

Perenna was definitely surprised when Delilah mentioned not being able to dance. There wasn't much that was hard about dancing, at least to her. But it was the same way she was unable to play music right? "Wait, wait... Not even this?" She swayed her hips side to side as though listening to a song with a nice bass. It looked a little silly, but it definitely got her point across.

She was a bit bashful with the compliments that was given to her, but Perenna was thankful. There was always a fear that she wasn't doing something right, but people like Delilah helped reassure her. Perenna still didn't understand that not everything had to be 'right', but she would learn in time.

"Oh maybe I can teach you a little bit?" Perenna went to tug on Delilah's hand and then realized there would be another problem then. "But there won't be any music then, huh?"

It looked as though Perenna wanted to cry then. She really wanted to dance with Delilah, but she also didn't want the music to stop. Perenna was distracted again, however, when asked about the song. "It goes... Dun nu nu NUUU NUUUUUUUUUUUUUH! Dun nu nu NUUU NUUUUUUUUUUUUUH! Dun nu nu NUUUHHH NUH NUUUUUUH!"

Sirene Naiads
(( The song is supposed to be Ride of the Valkyrie I think XD; I've been trying to double check but my internet is spotty at the moment... And I'm musically challenged, and if this is not piano-proof... Then you can respond accordingly. LOL. ))

At first Delilah just started at the little girl pulling on her hands. She had a blank look on her face but it was because her mind was processing. What song did she know that started like that?

Slowly though, she began to pull her hands back as she smiled. "Hold that though Perenna." She whispered and stood up as she took to the piano this time. "You are in for a Ride little Valkyrie." Delilah didn't know the full song but she did know the introduction to it. That she played loudly as she looked towards the little girl.

As she came to the parts that she did no longer knew on the piano, the teenager swept her hands off and reached to grab Perenna. Delilah's voice was not making the notes and beat she would have had her fingers been on the keys. The elder girl didn't know ballet, tap or jazz but she did know how to spin around in circles.

How many songs have that start? >.< Nah. It was good. But thanks for telling me. I would have stared at it for awhile like 'huh?'
