Parris was crouched down, bow at the ready at his side while his light brown eyes scanned the area ahead of him. It was out there. He knew it. He hadn't seen it exactly, but he had heard the crunching of leaves that sounded strongly of hooves upon the earth. Light hooves, evenly balanced between four legs. Not the two legs of a Faun. Unless it was two Faun. That was a distinct possibility, he supposed. Two Faun walking close together, mimicking a deer by accident. If that was the case, they were glad he was a careful shot. If there were any Faun to speak of out in these woods close by.

Edging close to a tree, the Demon male peered around it, confident in the belief whatever he was stalking, be it deer or Faun, would be right in his line of vision. Fortunately, living alone as he did sharpened his hunting skills. If he wasn't going to get his food, no one else certainly would. As he looked around the trunk of the tree there was indeed a herbivore. And a deer. No Faun in sight. Perfect. He wasn't much in the mood for more fish.

Shifting on his feet, he came halfway out of hiding, bow up to his eye with the drawstring pulled back tight. As he was about to let go, his concentration slipped. A rather noisy squirrel in a nearby tree had spotted him and was voicing very loudly what it thought of having the Demon so close. This racket reached the deer's ears. It turned, took on look at Parris, and darted off. All the while the squirrel was still chattering away at the male in its own language. Of what Parris could take only as curses.

"Lousy rodents," he muttered, glaring at the furry creature in the tree, which now looked very satisfied with itself. "Skit before I make you my lunch."

The mottled green female seemed to meld into the surrounding foliage as she moved swiftly through the forest. The day was peaceful enough, but that wouldn't stop her from making her rounds. She had claimed this territory as her own, and that meant she had a responsibility over it. She didn't lay her claim in a selfish fashion, intended to keep all others out; only that this land was under her protection as far as she was concerned. She'd spent time learning the lay of the land and already, it felt as if the area was as familiar to her as if she'd lived there all her life. Now, she was getting to know the other residents who lived there.

Though her wings marked her as some sort of demon, she moved as lightly as a deer through the forest. Her steps were light, barely seeming to leave a trace of where she'd been; no broken twigs, nor scuffed earth in her wake. She wore a bow and quiver strapped with care to her back, as well as a couple of small satchels hanging from the leather straps of the quiver. Aside from that, she carried nothing, bounding through the landscape like a creature of the forest, pausing here and there to lay her hand against a tree trunk, or brush her fingertips against the leaves of a bush. She felt a natural connection to this land, and everything that grew and flourished upon it.

Up ahead, a sudden flurry of sound caught her attention, and she slowed her movement to pause with her hand on a tree. Something, moving swiftly in her direction...something in a panic. She tensed, her hand reaching for her bow to prepare for trouble, then pausing as a deer darted past as if it hadn't even seen her. The deer's retreat began to fade behind her when she picked up the sounds of chattering from up ahead. More curious now than wary, Silvana crept forward, a slight smile of incredulity crossing her face. Was that squirrel...lecturing a Pae'il?

Taking in the scene at a glance, she put the pieces together to come up with the answer to her mini-mystery and relaxed, stepping into view. "The hunt is a complex dance between two individuals, locked in a battle of wits and skill, a matter of life and death for one or both parties. The complexity increases exponentially as additional players are added to the game." She reached into one of her satchels, drawing out a few acorns that she held up in her hand to a branch, pointedly looking at the little chattering creature nearby. "That being said...that wasn't exactly very sporting, little one."

((Oh man, I am so sorry...I think I lost track of this when you started it and forgot about it until I found it again now while updating my current RPs. I've got it added to my list now so I won't lose it again. I'm definitely still interested in this RP though if you are!))
