Aminah was waiting outside of her house. Keilana and her had decided that meeting there would be the best way to do it, since Aminah couldn't exactly go knocking on her door and tipping off Jacinthus to what they were doing. As far as she knew, Takoda was taking care of her big brother while they were off on this secret excursion.
It was almost like spy work; it was making Aminah feel shifty. She felt like she was doing something she shouldn't be doing, constantly looking around for her friend and twisting the strap of her bag in her hands. Her bag that usually contained all sorts of materials for collecting plant life was now full of supplies for the trip and lots of dried tea bags for Keilana. She didn't know if the sickness had passed yet, but she was willing to make a bet that it hadn't. And she would be prepared for it. She had enough food in her bag to last for two, maybe three, days. It would be enough until they could start looking for food in Jauhar and restocking. There was plenty of fish in the streams, and roots and berries that could be used.
Deep down, Aminah was excited. She was excited for her friend to finally get these things settled, and she was excited because Keilana was so close to really starting to show in her baby bump. Every day was another day of growth for the little one inside of her. Aminah could nearly squeal with excitement.
The sun was barely visible on the horizon and the air felt cool still and almost wet. Early morning in Tale was the best time to be outside.

Despite getting up extra early, and slipping out of her home where her brother and his lover were still sleeping she had to stop to go to the bathroom almost three times on the way over to Animah's. Being pregnant wasn't exactly what it was cracked up to be. She was showing even more now, and how she had managed to hide the signs from her brother this entire time had been nothing more than a miracle. It was most likely due to Takoda's help with distracted her brother and helping to obscure her condition. She owed him a lot...and it annoyed her.
Still as she walked she was eating, Takoda had brought back fresh fruit from the forest, and she was thankful for it cause she was craving it. Already eaten three of the five she had brought she was still on her third when she finally saw Animah come into sight. Licking the juices off her fingers she gave her friend a wave and then winced in pain. Her back wasn't exactly doing the best, and lately she felt this strange twisting and turning in her stomach. Takoda said it was most likely the baby turning about, but it felt like it was doing flips in there instead of just..rolling over.
"Morning Animah." Keilana started and realized how tired she sounded. It was pretty early though.

Aminah smiled eagerly as her friend approached. Today would be the day! She could feel it. As soon as they left everything would move so fast from this point. She hugged her friend tight before holding her back to be inspected by Aminah.
Aminah had taken it upon herself to occasionally check Keilana's condition to make sure everything was going well. "Kei... you should take more care of your back. Do you have any pillows for when you sleep?" She saw the wince Keilana let out before she embraced her and it didn't take much to realize that pregnant women's backs hurt from all the weight. Besides that, everything looked good.
"Before we go, I have some stuff for you to make it better." She ran into the house before Keilana could make another sound and came out with two jars of what looked like paste.
"I made these for you. This one is to help with your back pain." She held up a clear-ish pink concoction. "It'll help relax your back at night and should reduce any swelling from pressure. And this one -" She held up a thick green paste, "It doesn't look pretty, but you should probably start putting in on your stomach before you go to sleep. It'll help with stretch marks." The inventions weren't new really, people had been using creams like this for ages, but Aminah had never had to make any before and she was excited to be able to give her friend something she could use.

Giving a wry smile the rather pregnant woman looked as if she was trying her best to keep a good face for their trip. Though all she wanted to do was complain...and to be honest she was just nervous as heck to meet up with Chalcedony again. A hand went lightly to her stomach after all she hadn't been able to really touch or pay much attention to it back home...else Jacinthus would get suspicious.
About to protest that she was fine Animah vanished back into her him only to reappear with two jars in hand. She blinked as the jars contents were explained and she gave a small light laugh. Animah truly was her guardian angel, she reached out to take them in hand and she examined them a bit closer.
"You ...really are looking out for me. I owe you one. " She murmured as she winced again as her back twinged sending the baby in her stomach to flip over. "Don't suppose you could put the one for my back on now? Else this is going to be a very long waddle to the forest.."

Aminah smiled wide at her friend. "Of course I'll put it on for you. I'm not gonna lie though, it's going to be cold at first." She opened up the clear-ish gel/paste and picked up a glob with her finger tips. "This is about all you should need every night, but it won't hurt to use more if you need it." She smiled at her friend before shifting to her back.
She lightly dabbed the cool gel onto Keilana's back and rubbed the concoction into the skin, trying to be gentle so the cold wasn't so abrupt.
"There! I've obviously never used it so I don't know if it works right away or takes some time, so what do you think? Is it feeling better?" Aminah capped the jar and put the both of them into her own sack. She could hold onto them; they weren't very heavy, but no need to put any extra weight on the sore Keilana.

Keilana hmmm'd and then shivered as what Animah claimed was true, it felt like the snow back in Zena and part of her cringed at the memory and yet it felt so good at the same time. Maybe she should head back to Zena..see how the cold could help her aching back. Of course trying to ...waddle all the way to Zena was a laughable idea.
"Thanks Animah..." She gave a chuckle, "Reminds me of when we were in Zena. Maybe after all this I'll take the baby there. Show him or her snow. Its not like we ever get it here." the leaf girl mused with a slow nod of her head.
Once the goop was applied she shivered again and then turned to face Animah. "We best get going, thanks it feels better already. I would like to get to the forest before my bladder decides I have go for the fourth time today."

Aminah perked up even more at the mention of the baby. Oh! Aminah was probably more excited than Keilana was at this point. A baby running around that she could help take care of and pamper and spoil!
"When the time comes, can I tag along? I would love to go back to Zena and I can only imagine how adorable your baby will be Kei!" She reached to squeeze Keilana's hands in hers.
She would have had to agree with Keilana. Even if it wasn't for her bladder, they should probably get going before it got too hot in the plains. She smiled at her friend and motioned with her arms. "I agree. Lead the way Kei."

The leaf tribe girl almost rolled her eyes, she couldn't help it but Animah was probably more excited than she was about her becoming a mother. Stretching out she rubbed her back one more time before she placed a hand tentatively on her belly. She couldn't lie...she was nervous. After all Chalcedony was going to be in for a big shock.
"Well we can hope Takoda's direction...are at least accurate." Came her muttering as they began their journey on.
They made...not very good progress as Keilana often had to stop, her feet swollen and sore, her back feeling like the baby was continuously kicking her in the spine as well her bladder. It was a good thing they had left early in the morning for by the time it hit noon they had just managed to reach the outskirts of the forest.
Sweaty...hot...and feeling rather gross in general Kei proclaimed they had to stop for at least an hour so she could recoup.
"You know Animah, I wish I could be as excited as you are...but..I am too nervous about what Chalcedony says."

Aminah's stomach did an unmistakable and uncontrollable toss in its place. Yeah, she had thought about that. She wanted things to go so well between her and Chalcedony, and for them to be one happy family together... but she knew that Kei's appearance would be a shock to the guy. Kei was rather swollen at this point... and pretty hard to mistake for what she was.
She was still surprised that Jacinthus hadn't found out. It must have taken some smooth avoidance on Takoda and Keilana's part to get it to last this long. Or Jacinthus was a little thicker than Aminah had thought... which she didn't find very likely.
"I'm nervous too Kei. I want things to go so well for you... but I also know that no matter how things turn out, I'm here for you and willing to help with the baby as much as I can."
She was glad for the rest to be honest. The heat was a little intense, and Jauhar was all too sticky for Aminah's taste. She felt like she was swimming in the air around her. If only they could find some water to cool off in or something, that would be fantastic. But she knew that there were more important things to take care of than her lack of climate adjustment. "Here, Kei, have some water."

Keilana took the water skin gently and brought it to her lips, it felt cool in her mouth and down her throat. She tried not to guzzle it as well not think too hard on what she would do if Chalcedony didn't want anything to do with the baby.
"My brother..must be dense..." Her hand went to her swollen mid-drift and she had to ponder on the intelligence level of her sibling a moment. Looking around she was beginning to hate the forest, every tree looked the same, and it was hot and humid here. At least in Tale it was just hot.
"I seriously hope we are going the right way..."

Aminah laughed out loud at her thoughts repeated through Keilana's lips. "Yeah, I was just hoping that you were avoiding him extremely well, and it wasn't a question of his intelligence." She laughed again, letting Keilana drink as much of the water as she needed. "Now that we're in Jauhar, there's much more water to drink from, so you don't have to worry about drinking the rest if you want it Keilana. We can just take another rest further down to grab some more." She brought her hands up to her hair, lifting it from her neck. "Actually, I know of a spot just a few more minutes in that has water."
She held her hair with one hand while she fanned at her neck with the other. The only nice part of the humidity is all that water cooled down quick when fanned. Maybe while Chalcedony and Keilana were talking she could look for a nearby pond or river and take a dip... Meh, there were more important things to think about right now.
"I'm sure we're going the right way... for now at least. I mean, we pretty much just got in the forest." She tried to reassure her friend. How lost could they possibly be, right?

Keilana looked to Animah curiously, she wasn't aware of how many times Animah had been in the forest. Enough times it seemed to know the locations of the forest's streams. Part of her wanted to lecture her on the dangers of the forest, but given her current condition...she was the last person who should be giving anyone a lecture.
Looking about she considered Animah's words, okay so they had just started into the tree's that much was true, but it was hard when every tree looked the same to really have any concept of how long they had been traveling in there.
"Yeah yeah...miss nature lover...all the tree's lookt he same to me so far all i know we could of been traveling for days in here and I'd never know it besides my aching back and tired feet. " She stated as she stuck her tongue out playfully at her best friend.

Aminah looked quizzically at Keilana's curious look, thoroughly confused at what Keilana was looking at her like that for. Oh! Yeah, Keilana didn't actually know how many times Aminah had been to Jauhar by herself. She spent so much time in her garden that she just kind of forgot to tell Keilana of her journeys for plants. Well, lucky for her it wasn't a secret.
Aminah laughed at Keilana's teasing. Aminah might be good with plants but she still wasn't so familiar with Jauhar's flora. She'd been putting off asking Takoda for help for forever now, what with the baby and everything no one really had any time. "Haha. They all look the same to me too, Kei. I guess you're just having a hard time seeing over your stomach." Aminah stuck her tongue out at her friend in the same fashion.
Aminah looked around them. She as letting Keilana lead the way, since Takoda had given her the directions, but maybe Aminah could help better with her slightly better knowledge of Jauhar. "So, which way did Takoda say to take?"

Giving a pout Keilana put a hand defensively over her large belly, she wasn't really that touchy about it ...anymore but she could tease her best friend right?
"It isn't THAT big...is it?" She inquired as it had been one of this things that bugged her as time went past, she just seemed...huge. Too big even for one baby, though it didn't even dawn on her that she could possibly be carrying more than one. It was a terrifying thought she didn't even want to consider.
Looking about she sighed and then tried to bring up the information Takoda had given her.
"He said to head north west. So I am guessing we are going the right way...hard to see the sun with all these branches and leaves.."

Aminah laughed at Keilana, perhaps a bit too high-pitched. Aminah didn't want to say anything, but it seemed odd that Keilana had grown so large in such a short amount of time. Aminah didn't want to get overly excited, but she had this feeling that there was going to be more than one little one in there. Which to Aminah, meant all the more fun to play with. She poked Keilana's belly lightly with her finger. "Any bigger and you'd pop." Aminah joked with her friend. It was all good natured, and Aminah was more than excited to get this show on the road and get Keilana to actually pop.
Aminah looked around the forest and back at the direction that they had just come. They seemed to be going the right way. Aminah wasn't so perfect at getting her bearings, but she hadn't gotten lost yet, and she wasn't prepared to start now. She turned back to Keilana. "Did he happen to mention how far in it was?" Takoda didn't seem like the kind of person to let a pregnant woman just wander around without knowing how far to go.
