- Past the Kraken is a small, broken down doorway. Unfortunately, the passageway is a little dangerous to get towards. - To reach the security point, and open it you must have the Parable Pool Security Card, or someone in your team. Only one group of up to five people will be able to get through the passage before it collapses, and one of them must have the Parable Pool Security Access Card. They must enter as a group at the same time. - Once you are inside, you may access the points below (resting point, items stash, and computer ??? )
RESTING POINT: - Once accessed, the resting point is good for that group. All players can rest in here safely for up to 24 IC hours without being attacked. After that point, the area is vulnerable to attack.
ITEMS STASH: - Once accessed, the security point has a premium items stash!
1 Premium Chains: Chains will slow an enemy down. If you fail to roll to escape, roll a 20-sided dice again. If you roll 3 or higher you manage to escape! . You can only use this once. (subtract 2 from your escape rolls for every chain you carry)
1 Premium Pair of shoes: It's a pretty decent pair of shoes. Maybe you can run faster with these. Your equipment load feels lighter (Add 2 to your escape rolls)
1 Premium Kelvar Vest: At least you wont feel too cold outside in this weather. Add +7 permanently to your HP You can use this indefinitely until discarded. Does not stack. (subtract 2 from your escape rolls for every vest you carry)
1 Premium Handgun: Yet another handgun... they seem to be everywhere but none of them are standardized meaning the bullets for each one is frustratingly different. This one is loaded only with full ammo. You can fire six shots from the handgun. Each shot does + 3 damage on top of your normal move. (subtract 1 from your escape rolls for every handgun you carry)
1 Premium Shotgun: A very large, unwieldy gun that is a lot more effective. This gun is loaded only with two shots. You can shoot twice from this shotgun. Each shot does damage equal to 50% of your opponent's REMAINING HP. (subtract 3 from your escape rolls for every shotgun you carry)
1 Set of Guided Throwing stars: .... Really? Throwing stars are light but extremely difficult to use. You may only use this once. Once whenever necessary, roll a 6-sided dice. If you roll even, you do 10 damage to your opponent. Otherwise, you do nothing. This takes up a turn. (subtract 1 from your escape rolls for every set of throwing stars you carry)
1 Premium Polysporin: This will prevent at least the infection of wounds and help your wounds heal faster. You may use this up to three times on whomever. Each use heals you +8 HP (subtract 1 from your escape rolls for every polysporin you carry)
1 Large Ice pack: This helps ease the pain and bruising. Phew. You may use this unlimited times. As long as you carry it, every single 12 IC hours that pass (so twice an ic day) will heal your character for +5 HP. It can only heal the person carrying it. You can use this indefinitely until discarded. (subtract 3 from your escape rolls for every icepack you carry)
1 Premium Medkit: Painkillers, gauze, a needle, thread, and anti-septic needed to treat a severe wound. You may use this once. It will heal you up to 100% of your HP. (subtract 2 from your escape rolls for every medkit you carry)
57 tins of sardines. Yay......
COMPUTER ??? - Once ACCESSED with the card, for all those inside, an old computer lies to one side, still for some reason working. There is a file open.... do you dare read it.
Dear Journal, We've had too much trouble getting the beast to the containment labs, even after dissipation. Now Whorl's saying we'll just have to build an extra containment unit for the unstable kraken at the bottom of the Pool. What a pain! There was a time when I really enjoyed yelling "Unleash the Kraken!" whenever I unzipped my pants, but that time has come to an end. )': Oh well, maybe this means they'll move the security point to something more convenient, at least!
With love, Morty

Sagging against the door and groping for the card, Penelope somehow managed to get the door open and let everyone else into the room. It felt safe here, and she found a bench to sit on, head lulling against the wall.
"We made it..." The redhead breathed, eyes half-shut due to the toll she had taken on trying to 'fight' the dragon.
Yeah, that could have gone better...

Nadya essentially shambled in at this point, she didn't even bother to look at everything yet. Quietly she sunk down on a empty spot of floor so she could evaluate her choices in life.
Choices that brought her to see two people die before her eyes. Once before crossing and once afterwards.
This was not a good day to be a Nadya.

Lydia stumbled in, eyes staring straight ahead, dazed, confused, tattered, and bloodied. The dragon has left it's mark on her, but none of that could compare to the pain of realizing that Tooly and Kiera were gone. Dead. Kraken chow.
Nadya would soon fine somebody flopping down next to her on the floor, silent.

After a few moments of staring straight ahead at a wall, Lydia slowly began to move. First she turned her head to the side, pale face set in a blank expression even as she reached over and grabbed for Nadya's hand, giving it a light squeeze. Then, she slowly pushed herself to her feet, and began to look around the small security room.
There really wasn't much to look at, but there were a few items of interest that Lydia came across. Another shotgun, for one, which she hefted up off of the floor, and checked for ammunition.
Two bullets. Well, that was better then nothing.
sifting through the other items, she ignored the healing supplies, already having an ice pack and a med kit of her own. Still,....
"Polysporin and another medkit here. And a nice looking ice pack, too. You two should...." She let her voice trail off. What should they do? What should any of them do, now? Lydia felt something in her chest clench up tight as thoughts drifted towards Kiera, the one that she'd been with since the spider in the dining hall, and Tooly as well. Without the two of them, ,she would not have survived this long. They had carried her, both literally and figuratively.
Fingers closed on a kevlar vest, and she realized suddenly that with all of her clothes shredded as they were from multiple attacks and from the acidic venom of the spider, she could do with something warm to wear. She put it on, not for the protection, but for the sheer warmth it might provide.
Not that it seemed to help stop her shaking and trembling in the slightest.
"Kiera had Algie's identification card." She whispered in a voice hoarse from her earlier screaming. She didn't know why she said it, or why it even mattered, just that for some reason it bothered her that the ID tag was sitting at the bottom of the pool with whatever remained of her fearless leader.
Nadya returned the hand squeeze, though it was absent minded at the moment. She was regathering her thoughts and sorting out her feelings. It wasn't like this wasn't something they'd get over all of the sudden but it was good to keep stock of it and pack it away later.
Later she could have a good cry.
The Russian woman tilted her head toward Lydia as she spoke and quietly nodded a little as she drew herself up, every joint and muscle ached in protest, "Should see which of us is most hurt maybe. I know .. um..."
... She had a momentary name blank.
"P..Penelope...was hit a lot...So..."
She waved her hand a bit and then started to go through the left over things thus far. Nadya gazed at Penelope and she offered a bit of a smile, "You pick first. I would never have thought of this place, much less get here without you, yes?"
"I wasn't much help." Penelope pinched the bridge of her nose, frowning as she stared at the floor, setting her gun on the bench beside her. She had tried to keep everyone alive, but one by one it picked friends and allies off, leaving a taste in everyone else's mouths that she knew they didn't want.
"I'm sorry I couldn't save everyone. I should... I should have ran first, instead of trying to get the dragon's attention..." The redhead winced and pressed a hand to her chest, shaking her head. To be honest... she probably wouldn't have done anything different.
But that was simply Penelope.

"That wouldn't have kept the others from...well, whatever happened to them." She had missed both Kiera and Tooly's falls as she had been busy at the time with the dragon. Her only hint as to what must have happened had been the fact that they weren't here when she had stumbled past the pool, and a dim memory of the sound of splashing water during the fray. "We both did what we could, and whether or not we had done something differently...well, who's to say if it would have made any difference."
Maybe the kraken had been so busy with it's new chew toys it had given Nadya, Penny, and herself time to slip by. Who knew.
"Get yourself patched up. We can't just...give up now." Her voice was still rough, and she felt an aching hollowness inside that resonated in every word that she spoke, her face still a blank mask, though her eyes were rimmed with red and she sniffled from time to time. "We need a game plan."
She cast a glance back towards Nadya. "Any ideas on a way to get off of this island? I'm kind of doubting any form of transportation short of being in a tank would be safe."
Nadya shifted in her footing a bit when Penelope turned blame upon herself, "No! You helped lots! You shot the creature that was attacking along side with Ly...Lydia," she was going to insist on it even if everyone disagreed.
"You both helped so much and...We... We can't just .. sit down and cry and give up. We can't ... It would upset them, I am sure of it. Yes? Tooly was not type to give up, I did not know her long but I know this much!" Nadya was trying to lift their spirits at least a little bit as she reached out and picked up the handgun.
She glanced over at Lydia, "I...I am not certain of everything. Docks maybe? Maybe we find boat there...or..." She pocketed the handgun and gently shoved the medkit toward Penelope.
"We can find more, find others. We listen for them and try to survive, hm? We will not let this beat us up!" As hurt she felt on the inside and outside she seemed very focused on sounding hopeful. This was like trying to cheer up Ariel when she couldn't do a new trick at first; Nadya had spent a lot of time assuring the mermaid that there were no disappointments.
Nadya also didn't want to be alone again.
((Sorry was having my life sucked away by a boring as hell horror movie. Ugh.))

Sighing through her nose, Penelope simply nodded as she stood up and took the polysporin, using it on herself.
"I suppose you're right..." She glanced to Nadya with a sad expression. "I'm just sorry I couldn't do more."

Lydia had wandered over to the somehow working computer, turned on the screen, read the file, and turned away without fiddling with it further. Technology really just wasn't her thing.
"Hey, Nadya? Kiera mentioned a helipad area earlier...." Was it too much to hope that they might have a chance if they reached it? Would there even be a helicopter there if they did? More importantly...how would they even fly it?
Still, it was a chance, right?
Sounds nearby and outside had Lydia cringing. They had already stayed here too long, and she had no idea what Kiera's plans were to be once they got here. Maybe she thought they could hole up until help arrived, but Lydia was trying to be more reasonable than that.
They needed to keep moving. That was the best way...maybe even the only way...to survive this.
"Stock up, I think it's time to head out. If you'd rather stay, that's your decision to make, but I will not sit here and wait to die...I'd rather go out guns ablazing if you know what I mean?" She let out a nervous laugh, and one last long sniffle, turning back to the small store of supplies and grabbed for the chains. Those might come in handy, right?
"One of you should take those shoes, and that medkit at least?" She turned back to the other two women, and gave them a grim look and a small nod. "I'm going. Come with me or stay....I...I just can't."
And then she turned and walked back out the door and into the nightmare world once more.

Nadya sucked in a deep breath through her teeth and nodded over toward Lydia to show that she was very much listening to her advice. The young woman gazed over at Penelope and quietly shook her head, "You did everything wonderful. Everything that happened so far was not your fault. Do not blame yourself for deaths and other things. It is not like you wished this upon everyone."
At least she hoped not.
The young woman picked up the premium medkit and watched as Lydia left ahead of them. Should they go separate to the helipad? Should they go together? Alone they could outrun creatures. Together they could fight off the creatures.
Together they could help each other but alone it would be more efficient.
Quietly she looked over at Penelope, "I try to get to Helipad. You come too! Try very hard. I will try to get everyone to wait at least a few moments longer."
Only a few otherwise it was probably safe to assume the worst...
"Please come! Try hard," she said with sort of hopeful determination. There was a small click of her tongue, "You can have 4wheeler if it is outside still. Maybe you will be safer on it. It got me through safe!"
She drew herself up and made for the exit, "It'll be safe. It is not like horror movie where everyone separates and dies," Nadya said mostly to herself as she left.
Offering a small smile, Penelope nodded as she stood up and followed the group, not bothering to say anything else.
Nothing more needed to be said on that subject.
"I'll take up the rear. I'm rather good with a gun, but it seems I'm losing my touch...
