Lanzecki strode around the hybrid's tall home with a purpose in his gait, expression serious, wings pulled tight against the shifting colors of his scales. "Oi, Keinling."
Uassae straightened up from the garden plot he was helping Erionda pull weeds from earlier that day. Dusting his scales off with a shake as he stood, Uassae grinned as he ambled over to the Keinling. "You look like you've been thinking," he said dubiously, his smile fading fast. "That never bodes well."
Shooting the monk a glower for his efforts, Lanzecki ignored his unwelcome commentary. Uassae's gaze turned contemplative. "You wouldn't happen to be thinking what I am would you? About that Oblivionite and our companion? You know together"
Lanzecki snorted.
Uassae nodded slowly as he leaned back against the short fence separating him and Lanzecki. "You're right; it's none of my business . . . . Beautiful night, last night, wasn't it?"
Lanzecki narrowed his teal gaze on the growing plants, wondering just what it was Uassae was trying to say. The older Drakein was usually very beat-about-the-bush when it came to anything. Jumping strait into Erionda's relationships wasn't usual. Unless he was focusing on him and the Oblivionites Draken.
Uassae nodded. "Slept in the tower's edge, didn't you?"
Lanzecki made a sharp noise sounding something like "So?"
Uassae sighed and shook his head. "When I took a walk last night, I saw her lovely footprints still marked in the sand over the sand to the east. I don't suppose you saw them, too?"
Lanzecki didn't answer. Turning on his heel, he walked away before Uassae noticed that he was gone.
'Damn . . . why's he got to be so perceptive?' Lanzecki thought with a scowl as he headed toward the east. 'Anyway, it's not what he thinks . . . it's not what any of them think . . . .'
He was out searching for Erionda, sure she was outside.
