((players: graceangel and CaliWolfe))

Imbali had been traveling with her companion Amassi. While Imbali had no problem fending for herself. She was a rather fierce huntress. Still, ever since that night under the stars with Moke, a leopard who she struck a chord with, the back of her mind was plagued with something. Or rather, it was plagued by the lack of something. That something was memories. Not just the loss of a single memory or a particular time in her life. She had lost all memory of her entire life before her adol age. She neither recalled her parents. That part really tended to discourage her. She never knew how she came to live this solitary rogue life. She was like the lone wolf, the lone ranger, and every other lone someone out there. She found herself all too often feeling pensively staring into that abyss in her mind, heart, and soul. The bothersome thing about it more so was that it ran amuck to a point where she was failing to give orders or make the little sengal do stuff she wanted.

Really, when Imbali had come this way at night; she had just expected to look for a camp site for her and her pet. However, she was a little surprised that she happened on a pair. She looked at the mostly black lioness with the green legs. Then, her eyes darted to a little canine type. She sniffed the air and prowled soundlessly towards them. Ah, a jackal. She wondered to herself what kind of lioness keeps a jackal. That wasn't usual was it? Then again, who was she to be wondering about what was usual or not. She was the one who ran around thinking rather high and mighty of herself, worthy of having servants. She thought better than to approach the pair to ask as much. That might be a little too close to a kettle and pot moment for her liking.

For a moment, her eyes went wide when she picked up on a subtle movement of the lioness's head. Was that an ear flick? Hmm.. hard to tell.. maybe it was a leaf from a nearby tree. Still, noone looked her way. She couldn't tell if they knew she was there or not. She put a paw to her mouth to show Almassi to be quiet.

Ru'yah had experienced yet another nightmare. As per usual, it was a horrible one that caused her to awaken with a tingle running down her spine. Despite this the green legged lioness still felt something was off. She had learned a while ago that these dreams of hers were telling the tales of the past, that they were events that had actually occurred to some creature before. Although that made every dream since then seem real and in her face, something was still different about this nightmare compare to the rest. She didn't know what was so unique about it, she simply knew it was different then the others. That something about it held value and was of some sort of significant importance someone within the world. This lead Ru'yah to question who might be interested in such a terrifying tale? She knew for certain her small companion Haki would not appreciate hearing her talk about the woes of her dream world again. The last time she had made an effort to describe a dream of sorts he looked so utterly bored that she had felt as if her story was not entertainment but rather a punishment for the poor fellow.

Regardless of how the jackal felt about the situation, Ru'yah still had the desire to tell someone about the newest story her mind had shown her earlier that night. But who was she to tell was now the question. Haki was not on her candidates list of people to talk to at the moment, so the only other reasonable conclusion was to tell someone else Ru'yah happened to be around at the time. She knew just who to tell as well, that was, whoever owned the strange new scent wafting under her nose. Typically Ru'yah was unable to detect approaching strangers, but this time around that predictable part of the lioness disappeared with her actually finding a new person. Or at least a new scent to discover.

Turning her head and forcing her eyes to focus, she stared at the grass ahead of her with a sleepy look on her face. It was hard to see with it being night, but Ru' had confidence she would manage in seeing what was there... Her green eyes wandered over the entire area before settling on one set location. She blinked while trying to focus but eventually a calm smile formed on Ru'yah's face. "Hello..." She said when she felt she had found the apparent new creature.

Imbali's eyes went wide. She hushed down into grass even more with her sengal following suit. Imbali's eyes were piercing into that lioness's back. Was it any wonder that one seemed to know of bali's leopard presence before being heard or seen. Well, there was nothing for it if she stayed hidden. She had already been called out. If she's called for again or came after, that'd only prove to be embarrassing most likely. She got up then and took a few cautious steps forward.

"Hello and good evening. Isn't it a little late to be out like this? You know if you want to be out here alone; it's much safer to sleep in the trees." She pawed a little bit closer and around to the side to sniff the pair in front of her out. A... the canine was a jackal. She tried to remember what she knew about them, but she found herself at a loss due to inexperience with them. "And, if you don't me asking... how did you know exactly that I was there? Do you have eyes on the back of your head? Or... maybe you're one of them warg types? who sees through the eyes of a hawk or bird somewhere up in the sky spying on all within a certain feet of you?"

Oh good, she was right with her guess. Ru'yah had began to instantly doubt that an actual animal was there in the grass; but apparently her worry of being wrong was really nothing to fret over at all. "No, nothing like that." Ru'yah gave a weak laugh. "It's more like you smell... Different than everything else, so I guessed and thought you might be a person." She said with no trace of a lie. After all, Ru'yah wasn't one who believed in the need to lie. She knew well enough that every other person lied sometime in their life, but Ru' herself was not every other person. She had no real big secrets that needed keeping, (or at least not ones that she could remember) with no secrets the reason and need to lie to others simply never influenced Ru'yah. She left the secret keeping to the people she had met in the past, and the people she would meet in the future.

Responding to the other question, Ru'yah spoke. "Haki can't climb trees so it wouldn't be fair if I slept in one." Although the lioness had doubts that she herself could actually manage to get up a tree. Although it could be possible, Ru'yah decided she wasn't cut out to be in the tree climbing business.

((is she blind? some seers are.))

Imbali pointed to a certain spot for Almassi to go and flank her around this group just in case. She thought it might be more fair and better game to put Almassi on the jackal. They were close in size. If Imbali had needed to go after the little thing, it would surely be seen as bullying. Then now to hear this lioness talk about not being fair to it. Oh. Maybe this was her servant. The idea this lady had a servant made Imbali feel slightly inclined to give her a little more of a chance. Obviously this one would have more impeccable taste or judgement or what have you.

"Well... if you two would like, I could catch us a little something to nibble on. My current servant and myself can sleep up in the tree and help keep a watch tonight. It so happens that I am excellent at keeping night watches. I actually sleep in the early to late morning better than at night. When it's dark, I can practically hear a blade of grass move for a while." That was a slight exaggeration. After all, wasn't it just a few days ago that her and Moke was snuck up on by that hybrid? If her senses were in fact so keen, she should have known he was approaching. She blamed it on being distracted.

((sort of, she can't see well, but she's not completely blind.))

Ru'yah glanced over in the direction of Haki before giving her answer. Under normally circumstances she would have declined the offer, but this was not normal to her. She had to always be thinking of how her decisions would affect little Haki. He was more fragile than her so he couldn't travel night after night endlessly, she had to stop to rest at night so he could rest up for the next morning. She had to slow her walking pace occasionally for the sake of having him keep up. She had to actually put effort into finding water so he could hydrate himself; but most importantly she had to hunt for him. Why, he could barely catch a hare on his own, let alone something more difficult to catch in case of a life-and-death situation.

"We would appreciate it a lot if you did that." She gave the leopardess another smile. It was kind of rare to find someone so considerate out in the middle of... Wait. That leopardess, had Ru'yah seen her before? She looked vaguely familiar to her eyes, even in the darkness. Had they met previously and Ru'yah simply didn't remember it? Or... Was it the more sinister reasoning for knowing the appearance of her. That she was one of the people she had seen in her nightmares...?

It wasn't far off the mark to find it overly strange for Imbali to do rather considerate acts. In fact, she wasn't well known for them. In fact, she was probably not too well known for much at all. She kept a low profile aside the fact she also kept a servant. Her low profile served her well in the roguelands as a tool of survival. Sometimes anonymity was a blessing far beyond the perks of being famous or well known. Being too famous also attracted assassins and those who would publicly harm you for sake of gaining their own fame. Imbali wanted no part of that.

Still, her time spent with Moke and their encounter with the hybrid was something that was leaving lasting footprints in her unconscious thinking. Even here, those impressions were present in her doing for this other odd pair. She debated whether or not she should slash her face to punish herself for being too nice, but her vanity prevented it. She still needed to be charmingly beautiful. That was how she woo'd others into her service.

She had been gone off to snatch up a little something. She had even left little Amassi at the tree to stand watch while she was getting them a tasty something. The tasty something ended up only being just barely big enough for them all to eat. She dropped it in front of everyone as she proceeded to tear it up into four parts. She gave the lion the biggest piece, herself the next, and the sengal and jackal had equal shares. She clawed the fur off her own piece as she looked at the lioness steadily. "So... what's your story? Mine is that I am a mere leopardess who truly deserves some divinity for reason of being both amazingly beautiful and full of ferocity. Unfortunately, since i wasn't born to any true divine beings; I am left to satisfy myself with my servant here. Though I do hope to have many servants one day."

Ru'yah was about to make a comment on how she was certain many creatures would love to serve this leopardess; but looking back on how her comments were often thought of as sarcastic remarks to other beings, she decided against it. "My story is a little... Odder?" She considered how to think of her past. She wasn't quite certain on how to think back on the memories of her life. She had made an effort when she was in the company of a stranger- or anyone really, to not resort to talking about her history. There was no real reasoning for her to avoid the issue, it was simply she didn't want to talk about it. The thought of having to think back on her childhood were few memories remained was troublesome.Though, she wouldn't simply say her past was a secret or refuse to talk about when someone asked, Ru'yah still preferred to keep reminiscing to herself.

"I used to live a quiet, simple life here in the rogue lands. one day I started to have these bad dreams, bad dreams of people's pasts and futures. I got very sick because of having so many bad dreams. Then one day I got lost and somehow I ended up in a marsh." She looked over towards her jackal companion. "That's where I met him. He was in one of my bad dreams so I recognized him when I first saw him." She focused her attention back towards the leopardess. "So that's it, now we're just kind of... Travelling."

Imbali listened intently. This tale appeased her greatly. She decided not to make a big case out of the fact this lady considered her considering herself rather high and mighty to be odd. Was it odd? If it was, then she wouldn't wanna be normal. Still though she listened. Bad dreams. She grimaced at that. She wasn't plagued by such things, but she by no means had the slightest of a drivel of desire for that. She liked her sleep just fine the way it was. Well, most of the time anyways. She had found that she was growing far too accustomed to sleeping with someone else between Almassi and Moke.

"Well, lucky for your little friend then. I suppose that might be some kind of fate then. I myself I guess don't really have a story other than I roam the roguelands. I like it here. I enjoy living where there is no lion who makes himself a ruler over the rest of us like he deserves it more than anyone else does. I have no family either; so I guess we have something in common then."

Sorry, this is kind of late...

Now that she could see the leopardess up close Ru'yah recognized her, and understood why it took her so long to identify her. Like she unfortunately suspected the leopardess was in one of her nightmares. That was not what had given her troubles in recalling her however. Instead, what had plagued her thoughts and fooled with her memory was that in her nightmare this leopardess was nothing more than a cub! Ru'yah had never expected to meet the adult version of that cub, if had the chance to ever meet her at all.

As she tore into the snack Imbali had gone to fetch the small group she debated further on if she had the correct leopardess or not. As far as Ru'yah knew this could by chance not be the same leopardess at all, even perhaps a long lost relative that simply bared the same markings as the "dream cub" that Ru'yah had decided to call her. Then again how many leopards in the world had such a familiarity to them? Ru'yah doubted many had that exact pelt design to them, let alone a personality that reflected the small creature in her nightmare.

Still, she didn't want to be wrong. It would be embarrassing to say in the least, but on top of that somewhat awkward tension would rise in the air. Well, the solutions to those problems could be solved easily she supposed. In the end she decided to come right out and ignore any sense of remote boundaries others have. "I think you were in one of my bad dreams once, but you were a cub then." She stood in order to stretch out and readjust to a more comfortable position. Before continuing she paused and tilted her head to think of a way to phrase her next sentence. "It must have been a very scary childhood for you."

Imbali had been quite enjoying her snack. She casually watched the others. She was quite enjoying herself. Well, she was. Right up until she nearly choked on the bit she was chewing at mention of her as a cub. Her eyes grew cloudy and almost half blank at that. Once her moment of panic passed, her eyes slowly but with the most steadfast stare possible, she looked right through Ru'yah.

"What did you just say? I thought I heard you say that you've seen me in your dreams?"

Imbali continued to look at that lioness's green paws. She started to stare so hard; there would be burned holes if her eyes had lasers in them. "I don't actually recall any of my childhood really. My earliest recollections are of my adol age. Of learning to hunt and how to find food... though those memories are hazy too. Though I'm the only one I ever truly recall." She was on the verge of asking if this lioness ever saw anyone with her in these dreams; but that was too hard of a question. As it was, she wasn't sure to even handle having been seen in someone else's dream.

Part of her deeply wished that Moke was here to listen to this with her. At least she'd feel more comfort. That Almassi was no help at all in matters like this. She wasn't about to humble herself like that to a sengal. Not to such an inferior creature. These feelings and thoughts were beginning to make her uncomfortably vulnerable.

Ru'yah considered the fact that Imbali's facial expression dictated she had said something wrong. Of course, if Ru'yah had been told by a stranger that she had appeared to that stranger as a cub in a dream once; that would certainly kill Ru'yah's happy mood as well. Ah, but how was she suppose to phrase it other than the way she had? There was no easy way to tell someone you've never met that you had seen them before, was there?

Hold it. Had she said she didn't know of her childhood? That would explain her... Positivity in the rogue lands. Ru'yah allowed her mind to flow and recall the dream the leopardess had appeared in. She didn't struggle to remember it since it was so fresh in her memory still. So vivid and clear of how cruel reality can sometimes be to those living in it. To Ru'yah it was a nightmare that she was forced to witness from the shadows, but to imagine a cub go through such a thing... Well, it was no wonder Imbali had chosen to forget.

"You weren't always alone..." Ru'yah spoke again, figuring the best way to deal with the situation was to just continuing speaking. In truth she had just run out of options and saw telling the tale as a way to get it out into the world and not stuck inside only her mind.

First she is spending time with a boy and enjoying his company far more than she would anticipate. Then, she's starting to be even nice and a little more allowing than normal with others. Now, she was feeling like she was close to losing her cool. She was usually impeccable at playing it cool or coy. She was always nonchalant and acting like nothing got to her. This nugged of information coming from the female in front of her who was quickly turning out to be more than she appeared. What was going on in her life? Was the universe just not going to allow her to go on enjoying her life the way she had been since becoming an adult?

She desperately was trying to pull it back together, so this seer wouldn't see just how much this information was effecting her. She then bent her head to each side loosening up her neck. Then, she took a better mouthful of her bit she had been working on. She took her time eating like she really didn't care. Still, no matter how she kept trying to pretend, it was still there in her eyes. The troubled random stares at nothing in particular. Hadn't always been alone... Yes. Well.... "Of course not always. I'm sure someone gave birth to me before dumping me to the wilds. Well, not all parents have the instinct to do parenting." She left it at that.

She then didn't want to act like she was being mean to this lady. To act rude or harsh would possibly imply that these tales were bothering her or upsetting. She didn't want to convey such an image for herself. She tried to reign in these feelings that were like water suddenly rising from beneath the earth beneath her. Like a rising tide threatening to flood only the spot where she stood. Her tail flicked against herself in annoyance at her inability to be cool. She wondered to herself, 'dare I even ask how much she's seen? What if I learn something I regret to know? Maybe there is peace in the not knowing....'

Ru'yah often relied on others to help her read people. After all it had already been established she was not the most social lioness around. Or at least, that she wasn't one that was more socially accepted than others. Because of that, her companions helped her understand what exactly it was others were feeling since she herself did not have a complete understanding of limits. Unfortunately though, her current familiar was asleep. In fact Ru'yah had found it quite fascinating how he had yet to awaken while she had been conversing with the leopardess. Perhaps he was exhausted or felt there was no threat; regardless Ru'yah was alone in the social department, and this is one of those times when she desperately needed that extra reassurance.

"I mean you belonged to a family once." Ru'yah said. "They loved you very much, but you were a cub and cubs don't remember much, so I guess you wouldn't know that then." Ru'yah knew from personal experience that cubs didn't remember much when growing into adulthood. Not that there was much for her to remember, being a sheltered child and all...

She took a moment to bite into her food, only continuing once she had swallowed it, as she had learned from another lioness once that it was manners to do so. "Oh, yeah!" She said as if she had remembered something important. "Your family lived in a pride. I'm glad I remembered that bit, or else I would have forgotten again..." Ru'yah said in a relieved tone as she half talked to herself, and half talked to the stranger in front of her.

A pride? Hmm. Imbali's face crumpled under the weight of heavy consternation. So much for playing it cool. She found that idea exceptionally troubling. Perhaps her rather well known to those who have met her knowing of how much she detests the idea of belonging to prides. She felt like she was somehow on a path to discovering more things she wasn't going to like. The very fact her parents belonged to a pride, and somehow she had come to the wide roguelands on her own. Surely, something unconscionable must have taken place. Wouldn't that just be the way too? She scorned even harder as her mind was reeling itself around the idea of that.

She caught herself in the midst of her darkened emotional reveries to look up at the lioness. She knew she was probably displaying perfectly bad manners. Not that she cared much for treating others delicately due to their over sensitivities; still, she did like thinking highly of herself. Wouldn't it be a goddess like behavior to comfort this one? Or... to at least alleviate her of the trouble?

"Well, I apologize that my parents are troubling your dreams. Though isn't it obvious to you why? Certainly the things which my mind refuses to show me must result from a pride. Ever since my earliest recollection, I've always disliked the very idea of belonging to a pride. Or, the idea that we need to be ruled over." She paused while her mouth tasted like bile. It didn't in actuality, but her mind was running away with her. She was dramatically starting to act as it really were though.

"Ugh. I tell you what here and now my friend and witness of my secrets." She looked then at the lioness with what were intended to be confident and strong eyes. However, there wasn't any way that she could keep her troubled soul out of them though. Yet, she didn't know or realize this seer didn't have the best of sight. That was in her saving, but she still felt incredibly vulnerable. She closed her eyes then and drew her head in towards her chest. "Well.. go on and say whatever it is that's been on your mind. I might as well bite the hornets nest and get it over with. Perhaps after telling me, my family's trouble will leave you alone. Unless of course.... it is far too troubling to tell. I wouldn't force it out of you or anything like that." Though truth was that she wanted to leave a possibility of escape if it got too heavy for her ears to listen to.
