Ru'yah & Haki

It had been a while since the event had occurred. With every passing day everything seemed to fade away into nothing more than a dispersed memory in Haki's view. The group, the lioness', cheetahs, hyenas, the leopards, Tahir, and even the elephant; everything seemed to no longer exist clearly in his head. It was as if it was all nothing more than a dream... To tell the truth, Haki was a little joyful that it wasn't so bright and vivid to him anymore. He had enjoyed the event as it had occurred, even afterword's the sense of victory and excitement had ran through his veins. It was what had compelled him to move forward in life, search out new adventures and live through yet another phenomenon few others had before. Currently though, Haki was travelling. Adventure and thrills were barren and hard to locate in the rogue lands- with most souls keeping to themselves and not paying heed to others under normal circumstances. There was always the exceptional being who managed to mingle with the rest, but as far as Haki was concerned no one of that type was around as far as his little pink eyes could see.

That was fine though, Haki didn't need thrills and chills at this very moment. He had been a nervous wreck shortly after a re-meeting with Tahir, but now with the past clearly and distinctively behind him the little jackal was able to lead an easy life with no threat tailing after him. This news was relieving to him. What wasn't relieving news though, was Haki's location.
Of all places he could have wandered it had to be a marsh. An icky, gooey, watery area where he was certain fish lingered underneath his little toes. It did not help that he was the size of a small snack for some of the gilled inhabitants of lakes- but now he was in shallow water, a place where a hungry fish could easily sneak behind him and eat him up.

The small familiar gulped as he walked, being ever so wary of anything that changed around him he made an effort to not wade into any water that brushed passed his thighs. The last thing he needed was to end up as someone's after breakfast snack...

Ru'yah wasn't always like she currently was. No, there was indeed a time when the lack of company didn't bother her in the slightest. Now, it was the only thing that bothered her. It was as she had once heard somewhere, "You don't know you're lonely until you truly are..." She hadn't understood what that meant at the time. She hadn't even known that it was lodged into her memory so finely; but now she was starting to understand what that phrase implied. Ru'yah was alone. That stuck out like a sore thumb. Anyone who passed her could tell she was seeking company of another creature. Most, were far to busy or far to unsocial to give Ru'yah the satisfaction of that. That wasn't so bothersome to Ru'yah though. She was accustom to living by herself, it was not something new to her, nor something that took a huge amount of time to adjust to.

So why did she feel that travelling alone was an issue? A problem? Something that only the feeling of having the company of another creature could cure? It was an odd feeling that Ru'yah didn't like. The problem was evident, it was the solution she needed to search for. Company... Friends. Her current friends lived in the plains or the woods, not anywhere like where she was. Not anywhere even close to being a small marsh. She didn't even know how she had managed to get to the place she was at in the first place! How on earth did she go from walking along the path of the plains to finding herself roaming around in what was very much a giant puddle? That question was something that Ru'yah hadn't bothered to dawdle on, as it didn't concern her as to how she got there. Well it did, but the lioness wasn't much to worried over it.

Sounds flooded the marsh, bugs buzzing, fish swimming, the footsteps of creatures running across what water they could. "So lively.." she observed aloud as she herself continued onward. In Ru'yah's eyes it was nice to hear all the sounds though, it made her feel as if she was apart of something.

Haki's ears perked up as he noticed movement in front of him. Was it a fish? A monster? A giant mosquito that wanted to suck his blood? He bend down closer to the muddy water, flattened his ears and looked ahead for any signs of life again. It was in his hopes that he was simply seeing things, since the jackal didn't feel like running away from monsters anytime soon. To his delighted surprise it wasn't any of things he had thought it could be, instead it was a lioness.

An odd looking lioness at that.

At first he thought that her legs were part of the marsh, but then he watched as they moved and upon him crawling closer he noticed they were furry. Something grass definitely was not. He was fascinated by her legs though, since that was all he could see of her being as short as he was. They were bright green, really bright green. They stood out as if to scream and say "we're here!"
He moved his little jackal body closer, ignore the sensation and idea of a hungry crocodile or fish finding him. The rest of her body was black, a dark, coal-like black that contrasted with the green. Haki had to admit, she wasn't a very attractive lioness from his perceptive. As he waded closer with the intent of observing her oddness, he noticed that her eyes had spotted him. He had at first simply noticed the fact that her eyes and the insides of her ears matched her legs at least, but that took into account that the two had been staring at each other awkwardly for a few seconds. He quickly perked up with surprise. How could he be so foolish as to think she wouldn't spot him?

"Hello." She said calmly. Her eyes contained no sense of hostility within them, the tone she used no violence detected.

"Hello..." He said subtly back; unsure as to how to react.

The lioness merely blinked at him, seemingly thinking at what to say as well, but finally finding something to start a conversation with. "I'm Ru'yah, who are you?"

"I'm Haki." The jackal replied.

"That's an odd name." She said still in her calm non-threatening voice.

Haki felt a sudden jolt of confidence, a smirk finding its way across his silly jackal face, "your pretty odd yourself miss."
