Renaud Gadsby
Male, Late 20's

guardian | Glastyn

station | Flamboyant Dandy, Flirtatious Rapscallion, Questionably Wealthy
haunts | Palisade, occasionally Oldcastle or along the Iron Sea

positive | Charming, Cunning, Bold, Generous
negative | Boisterous, Reckless, Distant, Deceptive

at a glance |

Tousled, fair hair; mysterious, grey eyes; and sun-kissed skin. Smooth shaven. A touch tall, a touch lean. Rough hands. Well poised, though his composure may degrade while drunk and especially if he's frustrated while drunk. His manner of dress is always unconventional and extravagant, and his favored colors include a range of violets and golds.

beneath the skin |

Renaud is generally very sociable and friendly; he makes little distinction between social classes. However, some folks may find him offensive as he can be quite boisterous and doesn't seem to have a strong sense of personal space. Renaud can be charming and persistently flirtatious, but he is not inclined to actually follow-through with his banter. In truth, he is quite distant and rather prefers it that way.

He spends most of his time drinking and engaging in gambling of all kinds, be it an interesting wager or a reckless under-taking. Risk-taking seems to be his primary source of income, though Renaud tends to avoid speaking on the particulars of his exploits. Even so, he never seems short of wealth, and it shows clearly in both his extravagant dress and generosity toward strangers.

in the beginning |

Renaud's father was a seaman of questionable reputation, his mother a working member of Sunderland's lower-class. Though his father had on-going romances in nearly every port, he was not unkind. When Renaud's mother died, it was his father who saw to his up-bringing. As such, Renaud spent the majority of his life at sea. It was only while recently abroad that he felt the call of home, the call of the Wardwood tree, and so returned.

A capable sailor and former ship's captain, upon his arrival in Sunderland, Renaud conveniently lost his vessel and finest, violet tricorn in a game of cards. The unfortunate man who won the lot was promptly arrested for piracy upon boarding his new ship, unmistakably identified as its notorious captain by the iconic, violet tricorn he wore. Renaud has since spent his time enjoying the company of Sunderland folk, though he does miss the sea.

Glastyn
Child of the Unseelie Court

fawn |

As a fawn, Glastyn is very curious and friendly, but he is prone to spontaneous fits of clumsy incoherence when his bonded gets to drinking.

things yet to come |

If Renaud is a flirt, Glastyn is an unapologetic flirt as an adult. The primary difference between the two being that Glastyn will cozy-up to any female, regardless of species. He is also more inclined to show genuine affection, but it means little when he is also always chasing after the latest dame to spark his fancy.

Glastyn is a confident and well humored buck, but he is also prone to mischief. In particular, he enjoys harassing those who take themselves too seriously and especially prideful individuals. Above all, he will go out of his way to aggravate other bucks of such a kind, even to the point of conflict.

Among young ones of any species, he demonstrates his greatest capacity for affection, humor, and gentleness. He also gets along with Renaud pretty well.

Foxbait
Bane of the Fox

Suitably called Foxbane by some, for he is the bane of Renaud. The kingshawk gets along better with Glastyn, of whom he is quite protective. Around Renaud, he tends to be rather grumpy and takes great satisfaction in causing the man trouble. Even so, he is a begrudging sentinel, if only for Glastyn's sake.
