If there was one thing that got her hair in knots, it was her spellcasting prowess. Nothing brought her more joy or more screeching. Rather than go straight to the gym this twilit morning, Piper had decided to camp herself outside to get some fresh air as well as do a bit of practicing. The fields by the gym looked a bit overgrown after the beginning of Poison October had seen an intense growth of plants, especially of the venomous type. She was careful to avoid these specimens like her parents had taught her until she found a stump to work with on the edge of the field. Perhaps a bit too close to the Forbidden Forest, but whateverrrrrr~
Plopping herself on the stump, Piper stretched her arms out and began to work on her elements one by one. First was water, her first and easiest: a small glob of mostly held together liquid appeared in her hands, and she lobbed it at a tree with a satisfying splash. Then came fire, which she delegated to be just a few tongues of flame between her palms that she quickly clapped back out of existence. Alright, so . . .
Lightning. Argh. It was just concentrated energy, more precise fire. So why was it so hard to make? The mage's face screwed up as she began to manipulate her Fear, fingers shaking as the seconds went on. for a moment she thought she caught a spark between her hands, a brief flash of light, but that was fire. Yet the more energy she tried to pour into it, the more her spell wanted to turn into another fireball, and with a groan she let the spell go.
"Arghhhhhhh!" She flopped back and draped herself over the stump with a sigh.RadioactiveDelight sorry this took a while ;; I had finals

With tails swaying early behind him the kitsune's made his way from the building. Campus had turned out to be a bust when it came to scavenging toys and as such the little red-head was going in search of playthings elsewhere. No luck being had inside the outside was the obvious next option. The overgrown field by the gym was the first thing to be seen and so it was the first area to be explored. Trotting closer with a twitch of his ears he paused when a few venomous plants came into view. Pursing his lips he carefully avoided the plants in his path and soon found himself peeking on a ghoul by a stump at the edge of the field.
What was she doing? Giving a curious tilt of his head he looked on, waiting to see.
When a small glob of liquid appeared, wide teal eyes blinked in surprise. Soon after the water, fire followed, the display of elements meant she was clearly a witch right? Watching from the tall grass of the field, he hunkered down and laid his ears flat. Of course he knew peeping was wrong but wasn't interrupting worse? When the witch seemed to become frustrated his ears flickered up trying to catch sound and figure out what was the matter.
After a few seconds of nothing the boil was tempted to make himself known but just as he was about to stand up a spark caught between her hands. Wiggling happily in the grass he waited for something cool to happen but when all that was to be seen was a fireball, a frown replaced his excited smile. A fireball, really?..He couldn't help but feel somewhat let down. "..Tch" Tavi hadn't been sure what she was doing before but now it was clear she was practicing.
When she slumped over the stump and let out a loud sigh he giggled to himself then curled his tails towards his body. Bored of hiding in the grass he wiggled out and dusted himself off. Starting towards the ghoul he called out loudly to her with a wave of his hand, "Hey! What cha doin, did ya knock yourself out?"
Ol-j-man Sorry it took awhile to respond! . 3 .

She wiggled her legs against the stump frustratedly and gave the stranger an upside-down glare. "Nooooo," she whined. "I was practicing! Magic is serious business, you know, you can't just get it down in a snap and be like professional and stuff." She even included a snap for emphasis.
Normally giggling would be construed negatively, but the boil looked terribly cute (like most minipets did!), and so Piper forced herself to sit up and whirl around to view him proper. "What're you doing?" she asked curiously in return. "Are you like . . . a fox spirit or something?" It was a clue to her isolated upbringing that she couldn't identify a kitsune on sight.

A stroke of his bound, fluffy tails was given in response to the upside-down glare, along with yet another giggle of amusement. His wide teal eyes grew impossibly so at the snap and for a moment he attempted to mimic the gesture, only to end up failing miserably since he couldn't snap for beans. "Ya I know that...hmph" Tavi pouted shortly after the 'scolding' and shook his head, fluffing his long red locks out in the process and puffing his embarrassed honey glowed cheeks.
Magic's were something that were prized and taken very seriously in his own clan, so the little kit knew all about their importance, practice or otherwise.
As the ghoul whirred around to greet him face to face Tavi offer her up his best pout look, cheeks huff, head slightly tilted down like his huge fluffy ears and bright teal eyes narrowed slightly, yet still somehow incredibly large like a kittens. "Nothin! I was just lookin around and then.." He floundered a little, not wanting to admit he was watching her. Taking the much needed turn of subject he giggled again and stood up proudly while sticking a thumb into his chest. "No way, I'mma Kitsune! Hey hey.. AYAW?" In his growing excitement Tavi had started towards the ghoul, inquiring himself about her own species only he forgot that not everyone would be use to his acronyms.

Pftftftfttff, she could just pinch his cheeks, dear Jack. Piper mimicked his face because she could and puffed her own out, though it was still a means of venting her own frustration. "Kit-soo-ney," she sounded out with a curious look. Sounded foreign. "Huh. Well, hi there, Kit~ So what's AYAW?" she asked, tilting her head a bit as the boil drew near. "Is that, like, your family name? Or a species of kitties?" Or maybe he liked making up random words--he looked young enough that he might still be at that age!

Yet another giggle escaped his lips as the girl mocked his pouty look, though not as good of course. Nodding his head rapidly to her sounding out of his species his tails flicked and fanned behind him, a happy gesture. "Yep yep you got it ! Kitsune." Now she was getting it, or so he thought up until the ghoul called him Kit. Wha? Did she, he had to fix this!
Shaking his head he held up his hands and pointed to a cheek, pouting again slightly, "Tavi! Not Kit." Pausing he gives a frustrated sigh and rubs over his smooth peachy chin, trying to explain this better since the ghoul seemed a little slow to the game. K-kitties! Scrunching his nose up he balls both fist, brings them to his chest than shakes back and forth in a mini tantrum. "No no no! I'm not a kitty, I'm a Kitsune! A Fox fox fox demon!" Jack! How could she not tell! Poking his lips out he opens his eyes to the ghoul, gaze set to a stubborn glare.
"And you are! It means like what are you!" Calming down his tone lowered from the childish shouting to a softer grumble, "hmph..and anyways whats your name to cause now you know mine, its only fair." Cause it was. Folding his arms over his chest, his tails rub together in irritation, creating small sparks of electric.
Ol-j-man No worries! Sorry I've been kind of all over lately ! ;;

"Taviiiii--even cuter~" she cooed, stifling a laugh behind her hand at the temper tantrum. "Well, fox fox fox demon, I'm Piper Blacke, aaand I can . . ."
She got distracted by the soft crackling sounds occurring behind him. The mage peered around Tavi to catch sight of his tails causing little sparks, eyes widening. "Whoa, what. Awww, you make it look so easy!" Piper complained, throwing her hands up with a sigh of frustration. "All I was trying to do today was make some lightning, and I'm sitting for like two hours, and you just wiggle your butt and out it comes like nothing."
There was another dramatic sigh as she fell atop the log and lamented her terrible fate.
"Fire, sure, water, that's like whatever, but lightning? Nooooo, lightning has to all special and sensitive and fine tuning and guhhhhhh . . ."

Tavi's fur was standing on end, hands tightly clutched together as the ghoul called him cute. What was her problem! Fired up he only settled down when she gave her name, but he still didn't like the delivery. Riled the sparks were flying from his tails. "Pi-" He paused his sentence, or rather scolding, when the ghoul got distracted and rounded him. What was she doing? Flicking his tails curiously he watched Piper throw a mini fit and then herself onto the log.
Amused with her frustration if only for the previous taunt he smirked, hard. So she was a magic user? Maybe she was a strange-looking demon. Either way, she totally couldn't do lightening like him. "Oh ho ho.. It looks so easy because it is." He chuckled merrily, tone a little to matter of fact, as he flicked his tails out fanning them to show off a bit. Cockily he smoothed a hand through his hair and then placed both on his hips.
Tavi wanted to boast just a little more but as he gazed upon the flopped ghoul his better nature got to him. Was it really that hard for her? Tavi puckered his lips and rose a brow asking curiously as he stepped closer, " hey hey...so its really that hard for you huh?" Flopping to the ground next to her his head tilted at an angle as his mind wandered. If she was practicing for two hours she must really want to learn how to do it hm?
Feeling a little sorry for her he grinned and poked a thumb to his chest stating proudly, "I'm really really good at lightening yanno..and maaaybe if you ask nicely I can teach you?" Because he totally could. Totally. Maybe. Tavi scratched his ear sheepishly only now after the offer was out giving it a bit more thought. He had once taught his brother how to better control their fox lanterns so it couldn't be to hard right? Right! Reasoning himself back into the lesson he watched the ghoul with delighted eyes.
Ol-j-man ;; it was crazy I heard ! my nana passed so I didn't have time to participate myself. HOPEFULLY THIS MAKES SENSE its so late <3

Cue more whining because no, no it wasn't easy at allllllll sigh. "Don't show offfffff," Piper mumbled, totally not looking at the display of his tails. And then totally looking. And then more fits of sighs.
"Yeah, well, sorta hard. I got the other basic elements mostly pat down, it's just lightning for whatever reason's . . . not cool." sShe gave a tiny shrug, fixing Tavi with a pitiful (if upsidedown at the moment) look. "Would you please help? Demons're so good at magic, I obviously should learn from one . . . I'd buy you lunch too, if you want?" she threw in, in case the sugar coating wasn't enough.
Cheekiebirdiee Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry to hear that! ;; I hope things have been okay <3

Tavi had to laugh at the ghoul, she looked funnier than him when he threw a fit. Giggling wildly he made no attempts to smother the humor he found in her tantrum. "Okkkkkaaaaaay. I'll stop being super cool jcya." Just cause she asked after all, it was only the nice thing to do. Soothing his tails back to his side with a pet he peered to the sky on a sigh then back down to the ghoul with a thoughtful sage nod.
"It's cool promise, its uh..it just..uh..its just hmm..you have to be kind of centered to learn!" Yes, because centered sounded like a word his brother would use and he knew how cool Davii looked when he taught him things. Staring at the pitiful expression he blinked then grinned again, nodding his head rapidly he gave in, "ok ok! Hah you've got it, we are pretty good at magic but um I've seen lots of - LUNCH!" Tavi was instantly hungry at the mention of food, clearly this was a good bribe source if his huge saucer like eyes didn't indicate that enough.
Closing his eyes he gave a small spin for a moment lost to the thoughts of all kinds of delicious foods. Snapping back he figured that if he was to obtain the promised lunch he should start off their lessons by learning what level Piper was at with her magic. "Right! Let's see it! Show me what you've got then! " He shouted with a point to the ghoul then promptly flopped to the ground, a studious look on his face as he waited.
Ol-j-man No worries C: It was one of those long time preparing things so ;; <3 thank you though.

Score. The mage pulled herself up and leapt to her feet in a jiffy, eager to get lessons going as well. "Excellent! Well, lets see..." If she was going to be a performer, she had to know about presentation! So she had to really dazzle Tavi. Tapping her chin, Piper considered her options. "Right! So. I'm a mage, but I don't specialize like most do. Or at least I haven't so far..." Summoning her jug, she rapper her knuckles against it a few times; water poured out and floated above her hand in a misshapen mass. She wiggled her fingers with a grin, swirling it around until it became a tight hand of water as manipulator as rope. "Water was my first," she explained before making a fist and flaring her fingers--the water steamed and hissed as fire erupted from her jug next in a small burst. "Followed by fire!" Pressing her palm against the lid as a makeshift stopper, Piper then slapped her foot against the ground and a clod of dirt about a hand's height lifted into her hand. "Earth came after, although I don't know, like...plants and stuff. Just rocks and all that." Her other hand snapped, and after a little concentration (she had to frown and work for this one), a small breeze whipped up, passing by her hair and teasing Tavi's tails. "Finally, wind!" she added with a grin. "Buuuut, my favorite talent isssss..." Pause for dramatic effect. She clasped the dirt between her hands and squeezed, biting the inside of her cheeks. Really she was amazed she could pull this off at all after practicing so much; maybe her Fear control was getting better? She still looked a little drained, however, when she opened her hands again and showed him her pride and joy: the dirt had been converted into the shape of a small sparrow, and in seconds it twitched to life with a murky chirp, shaking its new feathers drowsy. "Tadaaaa~ These babies I can only keep up for a few minutes, but they're totally worth it!"

Resting in the grass he waited to be awed and boy was he. When she had first started it took him a moment to realize what she was doing with the jar. Summoning? Tavi tilted his head curiously, his own magic always being there and never needing much of a focus outside of flicking his tails. It was interesting to see what she would do and as the fire shot out and was smothered down he cheered briefly, clearly impressed.
Silent again he waited, eyes wide and a grin plastered in place for the show. She was very good at catching and keeping his attention at least as long as something was happening. When the wind whipped into his tails he giggled and gave a cold shudder. Fuzzy ears twitched as she explained her position on each flexed magic, a thoughtful look cutting into the previous one of enjoyment. Concentration and summoning, Tavi was starting to think he wouldn't be much of a help to the mage, since he required little of the first and none of the later to do lighting. BUT. But he refused to let himself look uncool, because even if he couldn't maybe help her a lot, he could totally offer her spars and awesome advice, he reassured himself inwardly before sitting up.
Standing with his hands on his hips he watched as the little dirt sparrow twitched to life. "T-t-that's amazing!" His previously serious thoughts all but melted down the drain when the creature was presented in a tada. Moving closer he inspected the mud bird and beamed, "wow, that's super cool!" Wait! Catching himself trying to detour he shook his head and tried to get back into teacher mode. Stepping back his tails fanned out wildly behind him, eyes narrowing slightly, giving him a much more mature appearance, at least for these short moments.
"Ok. I think I know how to help! You do lottas cool stuff right so maybe this is your hill! " This had to be her hill, just like his brother had talked about. "So that means that you'll need to try super hard to get over it right? And what better way to do that than with help from someone else. Maybe if we spar lots then you can see how I direct lighting and you can try to channel yours the same way? Whadda think huh? Huh? And oh! We can do like some focus exercises! " Tavi nodded at his own rambling, a fist striking his palm to stress how totally serious he was with this plan. Pacing a little now he rubs over his chin. "like I do my lighting best when I have fire to start..so.." He glanced to see if she was following along then continued, "so we have you do more with fire first! Maybe we should just find you a tail..." He trailed off before pausing, something catching up to him. Tavi wrinkled his brow at the recall of her favorite and he started wondering if the mage was over stressing.
Flicking his ears flat to his head he turns back to the ghoul and ask curiously, "why ya wanna do lighting anyways if making those creatures is your favorite shouldn't you put all of your focus into that?" He would after all, it was why he focused more on his lighting roots than his fire.
