Where the mountain and forest meet, there is a single spring. It is large enough to hold several people comfortably with room to spare for a child wanting a soothing swim. There are little animals that enjoy the steam and heat emitted here, so one has little fear of a beast disrupting their moment of relaxing and, for some, rehabilitation. The elderly find this the literal hot spot to sit and enjoy peace, but any age is welcome to these waters. The temperature is enough to sooth most to sleep, but it is not recommended to take a nap for obvious reasons. What exactly is heating the water is unknown, for the mountain has never been known to be anything but a mountain – well. Any geologist may be able to give a proper explanation, but the local legends would take blame to the shrine before the hot spring. Here, we give worship to the Fire Fairy and all it's past followers.

Quinn let out a soft yawn as she stretched out her limbs. This was the life. She could spend all day in the hot springs if it weren't for the case that she'd whine up a prune. Nevertheless, she was enjoying her languid relaxation, and it was going to get even better once Quentin showed his face. Of course, he should hurry on over because she was pretty certain that spending so much time being nude in the hot springs couldn't have been that healthy. After all, she still had to work, and having a wrinkly body wouldn't help her job as a stripper.

It wasn't unusual for the librarian to take a walk during a cigarette break. Sometimes the streets got crowded with friendly people he didn't care to get involved with and he simply turned away to head down the trail leading into the woods. It was calming to get that nicotine rush while enjoying the silence of nature – outside of the occasional screech of what he was sure was probably the crazy cat lady clamping onto the behind of an elk or something like that. Regardless, he was enjoying his alone time quite a bit, already on his third cigarette when he noticed wispy curls of gray and white in the air that was nothing like smoke at all.

Steam. Had he already walked that far? Ed didn't think it had been so long, but he guessed he may as well pay a visit to the shrine. He had read enough about the vague beliefs of the original Islanders that he couldn't help but be curious on the construction described on paper. The idea of an actual fairy residing in there was inane, but he was sure the architecture could be a treat. Or a good ashtray, either way. He was just moving past the bushes when he realized something was amiss. In fact, several things were missing, most of which were articles of clothing, but not off of his person. Off of the girl in the hot spring who seemed to be bathing herself because she was either a recruit of the cat lady or too poor to afford a home with a working bath.

He debated on turning around just then, but there was so much wrong with this picture that he couldn't help but try to fix it. “You do know no one is chlorinating that water?” He asked because, really, whether it was ignorance or negligence was important to know before chastising anyone.

Ah. This really was just so nice. While it was certainly not as fun as going skydiving and whatnot, soaking in the hot springs had its own appeal. Of course, her peace had been disturbed when she heard a voice pipe up in front of her. It wasn't like she seriously minded. The more the merrier~. Quinn merely raised a brow before flashing a leer upon the man. Was this the supposed Quentin? It was about time. Not that it would really matter if this man wasn’t Quentin. “Oh, calm down already. Should you really be pointing out how unhygienic I am when you’re smoking away over there?” She casually remarked before waving him over. “Instead of just standing there, why don’t you do something more productive and join me?”

“But if you’re really not interested, then you can at least have the heart to spare me one cigarette.” A smoke in a hot springs. Now that would have been relaxing. Hm, if only she had brought some booze along as well. That would have added a nice touch to the atmosphere too. Ah, well. It was too late to mourn.

...Ed was pretty sure this wasn't his sister. He had to pause and glance over what little he could see of her to triply confirm that because this sounded just like his sister. Right down to trying to tell him he was being a hypocrite in oh so many words. He grit his teeth around his cigarette before strolling over to the nearby shrine to rub the cigarette out over the altar, dropping the remains on the ground without much care. “I was already calm.” He pointed out, though it came out as a mumble because he really didn't want to continue a conversation directed at him at all. This was about some naked woman in the middle of the woods who behaved disturbingly similar to Vi. He debated for a moment on whether he really wanted to talk to a copy of his sister, but he knew he wouldn't be able to sleep at night if he didn't at least have his say.

It's not productive to join you either. Actually, this is the least productive thing you could be doing with your time. Not to mention dangerous.” She must be new to think that being naked anywhere was a good idea with the people on this island. He gave her a pity cigarette, holding it out to her as he knelt over the waters. He wasn't going to go in, of course, but he could enjoy the steam anyway. “You're lucky I found you first. Anyone else would have taken advantage of you or carried you off to jail." He wasn't sure what category his aunt fit into, to be honest. "Next time, you should bring friends. Individuals are more likely to be attacked than groups.

If Quinn somehow had the ability to read minds, she would have laughed at how ironic it was that this man thought the same thing as her but reversed. After all, this stick in the mud reminded her so much of a certain brother that she couldn’t help but piss him off. Unfortunately, she didn’t possess that ability, but it didn’t stop her from wanting to try to get under his skin. “Hm, that’s all true I suppose, but that’s what makes it so fun. I can handle anything that comes my way.” Quinn smirked with certainty.

She reached for the cigarette, idly tapping her cheek with a finger in thought. “Well, I could always bring more people next time, but then again, I’d miss out on the pleasure of doing this to smartasses like you.” Psych! Instead of grabbing the cancer stick, she made a grab for the man’s wrist and gave a hard tug in order to drag him into the hot springs.

Ed made a face at the girl's apparent confidence in her own abilities which, frankly, was probably just as much of a load as his sibling's 'confidence' was. He gave her a flat look as he waited for her to take the cigarette, already deciding that he would simply walk away as soon as she grabbed it from him. After all, this was getting to be more frustration than it was worth without the obligation of 'family' to make him put up with it. He didn't even know this girl's name, let alone her relation to him outside of being yet another moron to populate the island with their future moron children. At least she seemed to know when to consider his suggestion, though it was obviously taken with a grain of – what the ********/> The man's eyes had widened and his limbs had stretched out to try to grab anything to stabilize him, but it was too late. The crazed woman had successfully yanked him into the hot spring, clothes doomed to getting drenched in hot water and any items on his person likely to be ruined – oh, no. He resurfaced with a splash, coughing up water that he had breathed in by mistake in his surprise. His eyes were narrowed into slits as he found some footing and dipped into his pocket. Out came a soaked box of cigarettes, completely ruined beyond repair and still full aside from the two he had taken out earlier and the one he had offered to the girl. If looks could kill, Ed had already murdered the woman thrice with the one he shot at her, “....You..” He had no words for this woman – she was just.. just vile, disgusting, revolting! He couldn't believe anyone would treat his act of kindness with such..! He threw the ruined box at her before turning to climb out of the uncomfortably hot water.

He threw off his shirt to rang it out, pausing only to look at her and open his mouth as if to say something more, but he still couldn't formulate a proper response to what just occurred. So, he slammed his mouth shut, yanked his shirt back on, and stormed away. He hoped he would never, ever have to see such a woman ever again. Ugh.
