"Kaede!" He whined slightly, circling the eggs that they had been watching over since their laying. "Kaede they're hatching! I hear it! The tapping!" He paused his pacing and looked around with a snarl, eager to defend them against anything that dare attempt harm upon his young.
A first time father and a first time mother. It was sure that they'd not have much trouble being willing to poke and prod at the little ones for whatever they needed. Especially with the moody male there to keep them safe and the kind mother wanting to bring them the most they could have. "Kaedeeeeeee!" He nosed the first egg, watching as cracks were spreading over the shell.
It seemed far too blissful. "I wonder if my Guardian can see this..." He looked over at his mate, seeming to hold his tongue as he remembered her own. "Come watch them hatch! Babies Kaede~!"
OOC: Family time~ I'd like a mama post first if that's ok.

Kaede had been basking herself in the sun light. She knew that today was the day their eggs would hatch, they all had been moving for days. Arsliah, her mate, had been anxiously pacing the den since she laid the 8 eggs. When he cried out to her that they were hatching she stood up and smiled walking inside the den and looking down at their brood. A few had cracks on them and the rest were tapping away.
She went over to him and then nuzzled his face, "Calm down, it will take them a bit to get out, they have to do it themselves." She said and pulled over a small leaf bucket her guardian had made for her, so she can wash off the little ones. "Arsliah, lay down, they will hatch in time." Kaede said and curled around the eggs. "You are going to be a daddy."
The father moved over, curling up nearby, nudging a cracking egg ever so gently, ears twitching a bit wildly as his head tilted. "Babies...come out~" He whined a bit and wiggled his rump, eyes on the eggs.

The black egg, wiggled as if it was about to burst. Which it did.
A cracked appeared right down the middle of the egg, branching off to other cracks. A wing popped out, breaking the once fragile shell and soon, a head emerge.
Closed eyes blinked open to tiny, red eyes, and and he wiggled most of his body free. Slime spilled over and he looked up and squeaked.
One of the eggs wiggled when Arsilah spoke and quieted when he returned to pacing, a tiny face pressed against the gem to watch the beast pacing curiously, excitedly. Things were changing! Things had been changing for a couple of days, now... The great shadows the egg's captive had grown used to had grown more restless and far more vocal.
She only moved when he spoke, though... Afraid that if she emerged at the wrong time, she might not be fed. Of course, the little eggling had no idea what 'fed' was, just the concept that her tummy was empty and this needed remedying.
Sutar coiled against a gemless portion of the wall and, when mother spoke this time, pushed off to bean her head against one of the sparkly little gems; her windows to the world, until now. There was a sharp snap sound... One that echoed itself a few times and rolled around the shell before silencing, and Sutar waited for it to quiet while she pondered the new, tiny shafts of light coming through her egg around that gem.
Was that how she was supposed to get out? That little... Crack in the world? Was the food beyond that? She glanced at the light as a bit of her tail fluff passed through it, blinking and staring. ~Is that... Me...?~ She tilted her head at the crack. Would she fit?
She decided she'd try, pressing what was apparently a nose against the crack and feeling the shell give some before she backed away, alarmed that the thing might break. After a moment, when it didn't fall apart, she tilted her head inside the relative dark, before reaching forward to nose it again, then pushing on it some more until a shard of the egg fell away, along with the gem embedded in it. Her little squeak of alarm could be heard around the other sounds as she backed away again.
After another moment, she stuffed her nose through the hole, fed up with the darkness and wanting to explore that vibrant patch of color on the other side. Yellow and white and red... So much color! The rest of the shell wasn't quite ready to go, though, and took some pushing to get through, before the bundle of beige and white slipped loose from the egg and rolled a few inches from it to sprawl in the little nest, only dressed lightly in the film the egg had left behind.

The space he had been occupying for his entire life had gradually began to shrink. In the darkness of the egg Svadilfari couldn't tell that it was him growing that was the cause for change, he only knew that as time went by the space he was able to move around in became less and less and now he felt he almost wasn't able to move around at all. His home had been dark and safe all this time and he had been scared a few times of the noises he heard outside, though the comfort they would also give was undeniable. It was all very confusing, but inside this little container he knew he was safe from harm.
Now though he was cramped, and it was making the wurm agitated. He growled inside the egg, finally having enough of it's shrinking nonsense. With all his strength he started 'attacking' the egg, which was rather hard to do when you lacked the force and momentum necessary to break the shell, and instead began pushing against it as hard as he could with his head. When that wasn't good enough he recoiled his head, his horns piercing the shell behind him and startling him. It took some work to turn around but when he did there was something new filtering into the egg he hadn't seen before; light, and with it the faint smells of others.
Encouraged by this he pressed on, his frustration mounting until he finally began thrashing angrily and snapping at the egg shell, breaking free at last.
Why is my home getting to tight? Coragem wriggled and wriggled about in his egg, trying to find a comfortable position. Smaller and smaller. Why? Why-why-why? He squirmed upside-down and back right-side up, trying with all his might to get comfortable. In energetic frustration, he flexed all of his muscles only to hear a peculiar sound: crack. It wasn't a large crack, but he could feel the give in the shell. Move? Home moves? Why home not move before? He flexed against it again and again, causing the crack to creep up one side of the shell before it suddenly broke off a round piece roughly an eighth of the shell. His back-end fell out as the remains of the fluid in his egg began to ooze out, What what? What what? he didn't understand where the liquid was going, nor the strange feeling of air as it began subtly evaporating the liquid on his rump. He pulled himself around and peered his head out of the hole and into the subdued light of the world. He didn't even see the gigantic figures above him. Ah! Scary! In! Back in! In in in! He tried to pull himself back into his egg, but because he'd grown so large, part of him kept slipping out of the hole he'd made. Struggle as he might he could not get himself fully away from the air. Before he knew it, his struggling had cause the egg to crack again, and a third time! No! No! Home stop! no! he panicked, squirming more and causing the shell to collapse on top of him. His wriggling stopped as his mind went blank with any idea what to do. Instinct kicked in and he let out a tiny squawk. He blinked.What that? I did it? Me? Me me? He squawked again. Me me! I did! So happy that he could make noise, he didn't notice his movements made him slide out of the remains of his shell and into the real world.

Akari was trying to get comfortable in her egg, but she was hearing strange noises outside the egg that she had called home for so long. She listened, trying to figure out what she was hearing, but something about the two main sounds she heard was familiar. Of course, they are the ones that had talked to her before and she wanted to meet them. She wondered how she could do that, knowing she couldn't from in here. So she began to bump her head against the side of her 'home,' trying to make her way to the voices. She suddenly heard a crack and yelped in surprise, wondering what that noise was. She saw a hole and light peeking in and it felt warm. So she got back to work on getting out of the egg, so she started to ram into the egg more and more.
Soon the crack was big enough and she poked her snout out and gave a squeak of surprise. Then she worked on making the hole even bigger so she could get her head through and then her wings. It was not long before she had found herself outside and she looked around, trying to figure out all she was seeing.
The babies were hatching! He let out a sound of joy, nosing the little ones, smiling a bit as he looked to his mate. "They're so cute!" His claw hit an egg that was rocking, making it roll toward Kaede. Bumping her, it hatched, a wiggling tail seen before a head poked out to start eating the shell of the egg, and the goop that got out and covered her. The way she wiggled, she was happy. Her attention turned to her parents, whom she squeaked loudly at, the young wiggler trying to lick shells off her head.

(( I dont mind it. it reminds me to post in here. )) Sida grew as big as the eggcasing would let her. It was time to wake now. Her heart pounded as she listened. The murmurs she'd been hearing grew more excited and clearer. She wanted to respond. She wanted to call out to them. She was trapped. Ooze filled her mouth as she tried to squeek. Unable to see yet, she tried to get away from the slimy liquid that surrounded her. She could feel it inside her nostrils. She wanted it gone. Like any mammal born from an egg, she squirmed and pushed against the shell through instinct.
The egg rolled and wiggled as the little wurm pushed with all her might to try and break free from the inside. The pounding of her heart escalated as she heard a series of cracks, and the wall started to cave.
{ CRACK! }
{ CRACK! }
{ CRACK! }
The egg broke into pieces. Ooze flushed out of it like a puddle of water along with the little wurm. Sida swallowed the liquid that was in her mouth and gasped for air. Her nostrils were still filled with gunk, but she didn't have anymore strength to do something about it. She opened her eyes as she tried to wiggle away from the puddle of slimy liquid. She couldn't see where she was going. Everything looked blurry. The ooze distorted her vision and she squeeked. Her muscles ached and she felt tired and hungry. She squeeked again and laid on the ground. Too tired to move.
Kaede was smiling happily, walking around her new babies as they all hatched and watered around aimless. She went over and gathered her little hatchlings and curled around them, "Arsliah, bring them here, they need to be kept warm and cleaned." She said, finding it strange that she knew exactly what to do. First she picked up one of golden girls, "Sida....thats what ill call you." She said and started licking her clean and curling her up against her warm belly.
Then she started taking in others, Naming them as she went, "Akari, Jya'Njala, Sutar Maple....Our beautiful children." She said and looked up at her mate. "Arsliah they are beautiful, come lay with me."
Why cant i get out?! She screamed in her head and bounced around in her egg, it was exhausting trying to break towards the voices, ones she found so soothing. A Males voice that lulled her to sleep every night, and a females voice that made her smile and relax at the same time. She had to know what they were. So she pushed her horns against her home and felt it give way. Yes! she thought and then felt it give way and fell onto her back. Falling at the feet of a giant yellow thing she squeeked at him.

Little ones were carefully moved over to his mate, gently held between his teeth before being set against their mother's warm belly. Those with wings were picked up with an open paw, so as not to damage the wings. The last little squeak caught his attention though, and he looked down, smiling at his daughter. "Yoki..." It felt right...was that how his guardian named him? He didn't remember. The female was plucked up though, also carefully handled to rest against her mother's side. Jya was already yawning and curling up for some bit of rest.

Sutar felt dwarfed, staring up at the great white creature that was her mother. A broad nose nuzzled her, though, pressing her creamy existence up against the larger beast's belly... Her... Warm... belly. She found herself incredibly comfortable, here, and nuzzled into her mother's scales and fur, before her own little belly gave a gurgle.
It was hardly audible even to the pup, surely the great white serpent had not heard the sound! Sutar squeaked softly, pressing her nose to her mother's side as she began to hunt for some food. She might even have considered that protective little home she'd just broken free from, if she hadn't been moved away from it, already.

Coragem blinked, looking about with eyes that were still a little blurry to see clearly with. He looked at himself, and then at the other younglings. I-me-them-same? His mind was abuzz with all the new things, feelings and sensations that his new little mind was getting. It was so much to process! He looked up just in time to see a rather large mouth from a rather large.... What is it? What-is-it-what-is-it? reaching down and gently plucking him up. Ah! Ah! What what? He squirmed and wriggled as he was lifted and even after he was set down. Scary! Scary! He flopped around trying to get himself upright in the new spot. Just as he got upright he sat still, only to slowly fall over again. Up! up up up! He gave a few squawks as he flopped around with his wings a little and finally compromised with using them to make a three point balance. His head swiveled around looking up at everything now that he needn't be worried about his body. As he looked about this odd, dark and heavy sensation was on him that he didn't understand. It didn't scare him at all, but it was making it hard for him to see, and hard to stay upright, even in his position. Nod after nod passed through him before he fell asleep, head first against his mother's tummy.
Sida felt herself being lifted from the ground. Then, a warm tongue started to lick her clean. It was such a relief. She did not want to be caked with ooze and parts had hardened on her body. This licking would get her clean. She snuggled against her mother's side, absorbing her warmth.
Upon hearing the word "Sida," she opened her eyes and squeeked really loud. She liked hearing that word and laid there purring like a little motor.
When she looked beside her, she noticed that there were other wurms. Some of them had wings and she became very curious. She sniffed the little feathers and gave a playful bite. Play with me! Before she knew it, she had fallen asleep against her mother's side with both eyes shut.
