Dark alleyways were typically not where Aventine wandered. She liked the park, thank you very much. Nice, and safe, and full of people she could call on for help. Or brush she could hide in if she was in danger. But then, the park had always been a safe place—to play, to go on dates, to just take a walk.
No one ever recommended the crime infested streets where Aventine found herself now wandering. She didn't want to be here. Every corner was just another blind spot—another spot for evil to be lurking.
And she felt it. An agent—as strong as her, if not stronger. Negaverse.
She took pleasure in the fact that there was no way it could be Orpheus, but that didn't stop her from being intimidated.
She could muster enough courage to approach an enemy weaker than her, but as strong as her? She'd have avoided it if she could.
She would have, without a doubt—had it not been too close to the piercing scream she'd just heard to convince herself that it wasn't an agent up to no good.
Sucking in a breath, Aventine convinced herself to get a move on and charged on with reckless abandon.

A typical night for Captain Mica, to be walking the dark alleyways and streets of the less then desirable locations in Destiny City, though she often walked these streets dressed in a completely different attire, with no added strength, speed or dexterity that came with her Negaverse alias, though that didn't mean she was completely vulnerable. Even as a civilian, she made her way throughout these streets without an ounce of fear or hesitation in her form, and to make it in this kind of environment, one had to be fearless, or else they'd eat you alive.
Tonight, she would return to the role of predator, or at least as much of a predator as the Negaverse allowed her to be, and her prey would be a particular loan shark that had been hounding Nyasa for quite some time now. In truth, she had no intention of killing him, but that wouldn't stop her from making his life an unholy hell for him this night.
The scream that alerted Aventine heard was actually the loan shark's girlfriend as she watched the Negaverse captain grab her boyfriend by the neck and hurl him into the wall without so much as straining a muscle or breaking a sweat. Mica didn't care for her screams and sought to silence them permanently, abandoning her dazed victim and moving to her instead. The girl, probably her own age but appeared older thanks to a less than luxurious lifestyle, was stepping backwards and tripped, and Mica had grabbed her rat nest hair when she felt the aura of a nearby squire.
Being interrupted wasn't completely out of the realm of possibilities, but it certainly pushed Mica's buttons. She gave the woman's hair a tight pull to make her scream again, and she called out to the approaching squire, as she readied her spear. "Walk away from this, or there will be three bodies to add to this pile tonight."
She remembered Wolframite's words, but she would not follow them. She had no interest in winning them over- in her eyes, they already made their decision, and she had no interest in welcoming traitors to their ranks. That was someone else's job... hers was to make sure they would not be an enemy for long.

The voice startled Aventine; she should have known that the Negaverser would have felt her coming, but she'd been so caught up in the moment that the words just seemed strange. She slowed in front of the scene, and though it sent a cold shiver down her spine, she had no intention of fleeing. "Sorry, I'm not exactly the sort to turn tail and flee."
Even though that spear was pretty ******** intimidating.
She remembered Orah's wounds vividly and wasn't in any way prepared to sport some scars of her own, though she forced herself not to seem intimidated.
Her heart was pounding so loudly she felt it in her throat. She spoke loudly and pointedly, hoping that would hide the fear. "But if you'd like to take me for a walk away from these nice people, I'm sure we could sort our differences out. One way or the other."
All Aventine could think about was getting her away from the civilians. If this girl would just come with her, leave them alone for a minute…she was sure that they could get away. Aventine could definitely supply a minute long distraction…even if she didn't have any idea what to do when in hand to hand combat against a spear wielding creep.

Mica may have been disgusted by the amount of pink and frills on her attire, but she admired the courage from this Squire, not to mention her wit. She suspected that she was likely scared in some fashion, but the way she held herself and her words did a great job in covering it up. Despite her dainty appearance, she had a head on her shoulders, and Mica respected that to an extent.
It only meant that she would have to work harder to make her lose that head, both metaphorically and physically. And Mica was okay with that. She didn't mind exerting a little bit of effort to get what she wanted.
Mica paid little attention to the civilians now, not at all caring for them in the least now that Aventine was present. They were nothing but a means to an end and if they wished to get in the way, they welcomed their own demise, she thought, and she made a point to draw herself closer to Aventine, releasing the one she was once holding and stepping over her body to bridge the distance between herself and the Squire. It would be giving her what she wanted, but what did she care for them now?
"Very well. I know a good place where your blood would compliment the scenery." Mica said, walking past her and withholding from striking her, for now. "Come along now. And don't even think of running away."

"Me, run?" Aventine scoffed. "You wish."
Even though it was a very real possibility at this point. The civilians hopefully could get on their feet and get out of here. If they didn't, that was their fault; Aventine was definitely doing more than her fair share in this. Not that she was necessarily happy about it; with the Captain so close, she felt like she had a huge lump in her throat.
She walked, not too far away from the girl while still straining to keep a bit of distance. That spear had some reach, and Aventine wanted a little bit of warning before it skewered her. She kept Mica in her line of vision at all time, and even though it wasn't as useful a weapon, she kept her hand on her bottle. "You got a name or something?" she asked, figuring she'd learn what she could before she had to worry about her life.

"Brave, for someone who willing powers up and looks like a dainty little flower," Mica said with a condescending grin, almost as though she pitied this Venus squire. Despite her appearances, she seemed brave, or rather, smart enough to have a good control over her emotions, and if Mica were the type for recruitment, she might have tried her luck in luring her over to her side (under threat of death, of course). However, that wasn't Mica's job, and perhaps if she survived this encounter, she'd throw her into the hat of recommendations for Buddingtonite or someone else in Infiltration to snag.
By this time, the civilians had begun their retreat, gathering their weakened and wounded and trying to sneak away. Mica knew that they were leaving but she wouldn't give chase. She got what she needed from them as far as energy went and the more interesting specimen was standing right in front of her. When Aventine tried to put distance between them, Mica sought to close it, and she decided to humor her, before driving her spear forward to take her life.
"Captain Mica. Now, it's your turn. What is your name?"
The place they would fight wouldn't be too far off now, and she wanted a name before she dove into the fight. She wanted to know the names of the ones she fought and slain in battle, if only to keep a record at hand if someone asked. She wasn't the type to brag, but it was always worth mentioning when one took the life of an enemy.

Aventine walked, and though her feet felt like lead and her heart was pounding, she forced herself to move with Mica. She wasn't sure if it was the humidity of the night or her own anxiety that was making her palms sweat; she had to curl her fingers around the stem of her perfume bottle tightly to make sure it didn't slip from her grip. "Aventine. Squire of Venus," she replied firmly, unwilling to show weakness. Admitting fear was almost as damning as admitting defeat—and she was going to make it home tonight, no matter what happened.
She could always start running now, but she knew these agents were fast. Even after playing rugby and jogging for as long as she had been, while powered up they had a speed that surpassed her own. She would need a distraction—or an advantage of some sort. She just had to pray it came before the Captain ahd the chance to do any serious damage.
"You drag knights off to strange, dark places often or am I just lucky?" she prompted, trying to will her nerves to relax. If they were talking, they weren't fighting. That was good enough for now.

Mica sighed, and loudly. She was one of those. The kind that talked big, or simply just wanted to make small talk before a battle, perhaps as a way of relieving stress or persuading her to not attack her. Or even as a distraction tactic. The question was which was the cause for the young squire to speak out, and Mica wasn't willing to play her little game.
Truth of the matter was that she didn't have a 'special place' she was taking her. Such pleasantries were foreign to Mica and she was willing to take her fight anywhere, and she was just about ready to show that to Aventine. A few more steps and she'd make her move, but for now, she held her tongue and took in her surroundings, just to make sure that they'd get the alone time they'd need. No need for someone freaking out and calling the police...
Only once the coast was clear and she was certain that there were no Order auras lingering not too far away did she finally turn to face the Squire of Venus. The only warning she gave before prepping her spear and thrusting it forward was a twisted grin and perhaps the murderous twinkle in her eyes as she charged at her. "You will regret playing the role of hero, little Squire..."

Aventine scrambled back rapidly; she'd been afraid of that spear and she wasn't going to let it get her. She wasn't going to take an injury like Ida—not if she could help it. "I'll regret nothing!" she hissed, though there was the slightest pang already stirring in her stomach.
What if she wasn't strong enough? What if that spear did hit her? What if, in trying to play the hero, she was only moments away from her untimely end?
Doubt was a powerful emotion.
It was also unbecoming of anyone who thought themselves to be a hero.
She clutched the bottle in her hand. She wanted to throw it, but that was growing less and less effective. She don't know what caused the overwhelming urge to raise her bottle to the captain, or to spritz her in the face, but as soon as she did she felt a warmth. It was strange and radiating, but not unpleasant. Instead, she felt a surge of confidence. The pleasant aroma had no effect on her, but then again—it hadn't the last time, either.
She just hoped that this wasn't the worst decision of her life.
ChibiGingi The magic attained at this level would allow her to spritz her perfume once and all enemies in a three foot radius would be struck with a euphoric, love at first sight sensation towards her for fifteen seconds. The perfume would affect only enemies, though to allies of order it would merely be a fragrant aroma. It only requires one whiff for an enemy to be affected, however the more they inhale, the stronger their feelings become. Because the magic comes in the form of a light mist, a gust of wind could easily blow it away before it can take affect. The mist dissolves outside of the three foot radius, preventing anyone outside of it from being affected by the magic (though if the particles have already been inhaled, the magic affects them until the magic times out).

Mica had to hand it to the squire- she was nimble and far braver than any self respecting woman wearing pink had any right to be. Part of her was hoping this would have been an easy encounter, but it wouldn't have been nearly as fun if the enemy didn't put up a fight, now would it?
Aventine dodged the initial strike, and she was prepared to go in for the second strike when she felt the perfume hit her right in the face. Not only did the liquid burn her eyes, but she couldn't deny the effects of the deeper power that laid dormant in that dinky little bottle of hers. She had forgotten the advantage that her opponents had, though it appeared that Aventine was quick to give her a painful reminder.
Not that the sensation she felt was necessarily painful or anything. In fact, it was quite pleasant, and she half wondered how something that this was meant to pose a threat? When the burning in her eyes ceased, though, she looked towards Aventine, and that's when she felt it.
Her lips curled, and she felt... giddy. There was some kind of attraction to the squire in pink now, one that wasn't present before, and she could feel herself lowering her weapon and wanting to draw closer to her. How creepy she must have looked, with a hint of longing in her eyes, and she motioned for Aventine to come closer. For once, she didn't want to kill her... Kyuseisha no Hikari Let me know if I'm doing this right.

Aventine was holding her breath, praying that Mica was going to calm down. She could have cheered when the Captain lowered her weapon, but she was afraid she didn't have time for that. She still had no idea how long she could cast the thing, but right now she was feeling a little flushed from the effort.
…Or maybe that was just the way Mica was looking at her.
She hastily fanned herself and looked behind her.
Enough time had passed—those people had surely gotten away, right?
"Look, I hate to cut this short—you've been wonderful, really. But I don't want to rush things. Let's meet up again in the future, okay?"
Hastily she supplied a dainty wave and began to back up. Was it cowardly to run while Mica was under her spell?
…Was it any better to wait until the nega had skewered her?
Aventine didn't stand a chance and she knew it. There was nothing honorable in running away, but neither was there anything honorable in dying. She'd rather look like a coward and live to fight another day than die here.

Yes, Aventine's little spell or whatever one would call knight magic worked like a charm, though someone more prideful than Mica would never have been willing to admit it. Mica, on the other hand, was much like a cat in the sense that she did have a strong sense of pride, and as much as she prided herself in maintaining a good control over her emotions, there were things she couldn't overcome.
Her rational mind wanted to chase after the squire when she made her escape, but her emotions simply got the better of her. She felt herself lock up, nervous, as if she was nothing more than a shy teenage girl who's crush just walked by. She wanted to say 'get back here and fight', but the words never left her mouth.
Not until it was too late. By the time the spell had worn off and freed her, Aventine was gone, and she considered pursuing her. But again, her rational mind took over, and she gave an indignant sigh. "Clever girl. No doubt she'd use it again if I followed her... very well, have your victory."
She turned away and carried on with a retreat of her own, her pride too wounded to give chase, in fear of it happening a second time. "I'll just kill you the moment I see you again..."Kyuseisha no Hikari Going to call it a FIN for Mica then! Thank you so much!
