Something I've notice since it came to our community, and recently had grown into a bigger and bigger problem. In my eyes.
These ******** twitter threads. For the love of GOD I swear I see most of you do more posting in those then you do your actual match.
Now this bugs me. VERY MUCH SO.
This is a WRESTLING RP Community, not a talk s**t over TWITTER Community.
In my opinion I don't like these things. Yes I have used them before but only out of necessity, cause it seems to be the only place to find my opponent.
I think these ******** Twitter threads should be deleted. Save your interaction for the BACKSTAGE or RING.
If you can post on the stupid ******** Twitter threads, you should be able to post in your matches.
If you can't post in your match, don't post in the twitter thread.

I think the thread would be more appropriate if it were 'This really ruffles my feathers'
But, I enjoy the twitter. Someone who's retired like me. Why would I waste my time and everyone else's time making a promo completely running them down/putting them over when I can do it in 140 characters or less (twitlonger aside)
Do I see it as a problem? Yes Only when it's people that constantly run their mouths, and talk and talk and talk. (Take Angel's character's for example)
When the character itself should do it in the ring, or in a segment because of the gimmick. Especially when they're challenging for titles, see 'that' is a problem. You shouldn't be challenging for titles in a twitter thread. It should be used to enhanced title feuds, put the match itself over.
It's only a problem with certain people, not everyone.

But yes I see what you mean. 3nodding Really what I wasn't trying to get at is that... If two or one person has a match currently going on, and they are posting in the Twitter thread more then they're match. I find that as a problem. If they are a champion it's basically a slap in the face to the federation. It's like saying "Oh i don't got time time to step in the ring with you, but I'll talk all the s**t in the world over Twitter." It's stupid. It slows the matches down for everyone involved.

That is a problem yes. But it's up to the people/crew involved to use common sense. Which surprisingly most... Yeah most is the right word. Most of this community doesn't have.
It just depends on the situation, but you're right that they shouldn't be 'tweeting' during a match, unless it's a joke match/comedy segment kind of thing but 9.9 times out of 10 it's unacceptable.

I don't think it has been a big a problem as you're making it look like.

Dion Necurat I don't think it has been a big a problem as you're making it look like. Well if that's what you think... I find it a problem. I just think it's bad work ethic when you [not you in particular, but as in a general sense.] post about on twitter how you are so great, and so awesome, and you deserve more and you've worked your but off... on twitter. I see people post multiple times in one day on twitter, yet I look over to the show forum, and that same person only has 6 posts in they're match over a span of a week. A situation like that can make the guild it's in look bad, and we all know if a guild looks bad, that can quickly lead to an overall decrease in activity in that guild.

I honestly think its hilarious. Besides, both major companies use it (to varrying degrees of success) and its a real part of the wrestling community now.

Lets keep something in mind, though. While we are a part of a wrestling RP, we are also a part of a wrestling RP COMMUNITY...RP. What I mean by this is, yes, the focus is on wrestling, but we also roleplay as our characters when we use the twitter feed or do online exclusives, because we also roleplay our characters as if they were actual people in a community. If that means you want to only wrestle or use the twitter feed in a limited fashion, that's your call. We know who is active and who isn't. If someone is only posting in the twitter feeds and not in their matches, that's their problem. Lets also bear in mind that while this debate is going on, we could be making contributions to our matches.

I agree in the sense that I think the backstage area is superior to any fake twitter thread... c'mon, when was the last guild you saw with an active backstage area? Anywho, twitter still lets characters communicate with one another very easily and social networking is (unfortunately) a big part of society today. Take it or leave it.

The problem with backstage threads is that people can run into stories going on in those threads. Take what I've done in FG, for instance; I rode a bear that was a part of Cartwright's storyline. Why? Because I could and no one said "no". It is easier to do backstage promo segments as promos rather than using the thread; it gives you more control over the story. My two cents on that, anyway.

Very true; backstage threads are very limited in what you post because you can't do much there without jeffhardy1234567 wanting to instigate a fight and whatnot.

Quote: Wouldn't you be bothered that he or she would rather twit about how much better they are then you, then do it in the ring. They could've used that time to post in your match. They could have, yes. Would I be upset about it? No. Why? Because I cannot dictate how people use their characters. If they want to ******** up, its on them, not me. Before this goes any further, one thing you should realize about me (if you haven't already realized it by now) is that I don't get upset over little things. It takes a lot to really piss me off. If someone would rather waste their time on the twitter thread instead of competing with me, it tells me as a competitor and a booker that they are a low priority. If they ask why they aren't being booked at the top of the card, its because they haven't shown the dedication. Why should I give those people a second thought?

I could understand that if our version of twitter was just like the real version of twitter. We could get notification, and up to the minute updates on superstars. But I find it pointless when all I see on our twitter is someone say something to someone that they could've said in the backstage. I find it a copout to do an actual ROLEPLAYING. Look at it this way, WWE uses Twitter to talk to it's fans and hype up they're product. How many times have you seen John Cena or CM Punk us twitter to bash another superstars or push they're own personal storyline? Not a lot if at all. They reserve they're bickering to backstage promo/segments, and in ring promos and matches.
